We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Physicians Urgent Care. This role is pivotal in providing top-tier medical care to our community in urgent care settings. Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, X-rays, and EKGs; follow up on results in a timely manner.
• Prescribe medications and treatments effectively.
• Perform minor surgical procedures, modify treatment plans as necessary, and facilitate specialist referrals.
• Represent the clinic professionally within the medical community and to other institutions as needed.
• Collaborate with the Medical Director to update clinical protocols and practice guidelines.
• Provide exceptional customer service, organize and prioritize workload efficiently, and meet critical deadlines.
• Communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
• Engage with individuals from various cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds.
• Adhere to standard clinical practice guidelines, including immunization and preventative health schedules.
• Undertake additional responsibilities including but not limited to staff education, quality assurance reviews, and other relevant duties.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree from an accredited Nursing or Physician Assistant program.
• Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Active DEA registration.
• At least 2 years of experience in urgent care, family practice, or emergency department settings.
• Current BLS certification.

Position Purpose:

• The Medical Assistant will function within the State of Ohio scope of practice to administer direct care to patients, functioning under the direction of the provider or registered nurse and practice manager, following all policies and procedures including Mount Carmel Health System, Mount Carmel Medical Group and department specific policies and procedures.

• Hours of office: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 8:00pm and Saturday - Sunday 8:00am - 6:00pm

What You Will Do:

• Welcome and room patients: heigh, weight and vitals

• Review medical history chief complaints and gather other information

• Blood draws, injections and EKGs

• Drug Screening

• Answer in basket message, patient follow up calls and message

• Using EPIC

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Highschool Diploma or GED with 1-2 years Medical experience OR Graduate Bachelors or Associates in science/health degree BUT Graduate/Completion of a medical assistant program preferred, Medical Assistant Certification or Registration preferred, or Graduate of EMT, EMT-P, or Military Medical Corpsman training preferred.

• Licensure / Certification: MCMG Only: Nationally recognized Medical Assistant Certification or Registration, preferred.

• Experience: One to two years medical assisting experience preferred. In lieu of required education, two to three years of previous medical office experience is required.

• Current BLS/CPR, and must maintain current certification

A well-established physician owned private practice in Central New Jersey offering primary care, urgent care, and specialty services is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Internal Medicine physician for a full-time role with a focus on primary and urgent care.

This permanent position includes a guaranteed base salary, productivity bonus, full benefits including malpractice coverage, health insurance, and retirement, and a clear path to partnership after two years.

Job Function: Approximately 80% primary care and 20% urgent care.

Responsible for suturing, splinting, and I&D procedures.

Practice uses Practice Fusion EMR; virtual scribe provided once patient volume averages 2.5+ per hour.

Strong support from medical assistants who manage work notes, orders, and prior authorizations.

Patients do not message physicians directly; all communications are triaged through the front desk.

Education

Job Duties

• Supports and ensures the patient is prepared for the visit by completing appropriate documentation/patient registration as needed, explaining procedure to patient’s understanding, and ensuring patient’s questions are answered prior to leaving.

• Prepares room for next appointment after patient leaves.

• Supports and ensures the provider is prepared for the visit by verifying physician orders and procedures for accuracy.

• Independently operates equipment, including radiology information systems, to complete imaging procedure according to protocol, including placement of nasogastric tubes, IVs, urinary catheters, and administration of contrast to facilitate care.

• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards.

• Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and performs notification/remediation as warranted.

• Assists in the facilitation of departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance.

• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.

• Performs other related duties as required.
