A large $1B family enterprise is seeking a talented, strategic and transformative leader to join the team as its Health Insurance Strategy Manager. You will be highly visible to the executive team.


  • You will act as the internal owner of the companyโ€™s $16mm/year healthcare spending, ย leading the strategy, financial oversight, vendor management, audit, data-driven decision-making, and performance monitoring of the companyโ€™s healthcare plan.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring plan decisions are supported by data, aligned with fiduciary obligations under ERISA, and structured to maximize value for both the company and employees.

Responsibilities:


Strategy

  • Lead the development and execution of the companyโ€™s healthcare plan strategy aligned with total cost of care, workforce objectives, and long-term financial sustainability. Identify and address structural cost drivers within the healthcare plan, develop risk mitigation strategies, evaluate cost-containment opportunities, and design plan structures that improve value while maintaining appropriate access and employee experience.
  • Evaluate vendor recommendations, market solutions, and plan design changes using claims data, financial analysis, and independent benchmarking to ensure decisions are supported by measurable value and aligned with company objectives.


FP&A

  • ย Oversee the financial performance of the self-insured healthcare plan, including, price and utilization trend analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Conduct in-depth audits of healthcare plan costs and reports to ensure accurate and transparent healthcare benefit spending and vendor oversight.
  • Surface actionable insights from plan data and recommend changes to plan design, focus areas for employee education, new healthcare initiatives and partnerships.


Procurement

  • Lead end-to-end RFP process and contract negotiations for broker-consultants, third party administrators, pharmacy benefit managers, stop-loss carriers, and other benefit/wellness providers to ensure competitive pricing, services and guaranteed at risk performance
  • ย Require and enforce transparency in vendor data, subcontracting arrangements, pricing terms with third parties, health plan reporting and all real or potential conflicts of interest.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and contract compliance, develop vendor performance standards, and implement regular reporting to senior management.

About The Role


CarMax sources hundreds of thousands of vehicles each year through consumer purchases, auctions, and other channels. Each vehicle goes through a complex journey from acquisition through reconditioning and logistics before it's ready to be sold to customers. The Supply Chain Strategy team leverages data, analytics, and strategy to optimize this journey, ensuring we purchase an optimal mix of cars, recondition those cars efficiently, and move them through our network to support growth of our retail sales.


There are several sub-teams on Supply Chain Strategy who focus on different parts of the vehicle lifecycle. As a Manager in Supply Chain Strategy, you will work with business partners in our Product, Technology, and Operations to help drive the supply chain business forward on a team focused on one of these areas:

About The Role


CarMax sources hundreds of thousands of vehicles each year through consumer purchases, auctions, and other channels. Each vehicle goes through a complex journey from acquisition through reconditioning and logistics before it's ready to be sold to customers. ABOUT THE ROLE
Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, the Principal Planner will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating regional strategies, specifically for targeted and effective TDM and transportation electrification with the goal of reducing solo driving and greenhouse gas emissions. This position will work collaboratively with the Assistant Director, and internal and external partners in accomplishing these goals. Additionally, the Principal Planner is expected to operate with a high degree of independence, applying subject-matter expertise, sound judgment, and strong people-management skills to oversee daily operations, evaluate work methods and procedures, and recommend improvements to support the Section's goals and objectives. As program priorities evolve, Principals may be assigned new or different projects or functional responsibilities to meet changing organizational needs.

Specific assignments and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Project and Program Administration
  • Develop or update regional strategies by evaluating the existing landscape of needs, policies, funding, challenges, and other relevant factors. Strategies may include transportation electrification and TDM initiatives
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to provide input in the development of Plan Bay Area 2060 strategies, in coordination with other MTC sections and local partners

The ideal candidate will have experience working with multiple hiring managers and personalities and finding creative ways to source candidates. The ideal candidate must be able to continuously manage multiple (high volume) hourly requisitions simultaneously, ensuring timely fulfillment of open roles, while demonstrating strong organizational, task prioritization, and communication skills.


This Talent Acquisition Partner would require a strong understanding of recruiting, sourcing, external job boards, scheduling, conducting phone screens, virtual interviews, and knowledge of manufacturing or trade-based role. Having a passion for finding the best talent and maintaining direct alignment to business operations. This partner will also build sustainable relationships with internal Hiring Managers. This key role will play a key role in driving the growth of our organization by building a strong talent pipeline, developing recruitment strategies, and collaborating closely with hiring managers to meet staffing needs.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Post hourly and exempt job openings to the Applicant Tracking System, external job boards, college career sites, social media, etc.
  • Use Applicant Tracking System to manage recruiting process and build talent pipeline.
  • Work with hiring managers to develop job posting and sourcing strategy. Assist in writing customized job postings.
  • Source candidates using various methods such as Boolean techniques, LinkedIn Recruiter, database searches.
  • Post job openings, review resumes, schedule phone interviews to screen candidates and make recommendations to hiring managers.
  • Develop strong relationships and partner with hiring manager, business leaders and HR.
  • Administrative duties and recordkeeping.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with members of the human resource team, operations managers, and field leaders to understand staffing needs and business impacts.
  • Thoroughly, effectively and timely communicate with leaders and managers on status of open positions, candidate quality, and candidate pipeline.
  • Partner with internal Management Team to provide a welcoming and positive candidate experience.
  • Conduct high volume phone screens, interviews, and schedule candidates with Hiring Managers while focusing on creating a great candidate experience.
  • Specialize in proactively sourcing qualified candidates utilizing various channels, including job boards, (i.e., LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.) social media, industry contacts, trade schools, and networking events.
  • Leverage critical thinking skills to identify candidates with the right qualifications, values, and competency for the position.
  • Manage applicant tracking system (ATS) to ensure accuracy of organized documentation and time to fill metrics are being met.
  • Manage multiple requisitions and multiple internal customers simultaneously.
  • Clearly and regularly communicate status on recruitment progress to key stakeholders.
  • Provide the team with relevant recruitment metrics to encourage data driven decisions.
  • Post and monitor all sourcing advertisements for pipeline generation across recruitment platforms.
  • Think creatively and proactively to generate and maintain pipelines in hard to fill or high-volume areas / roles.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in recruitment and talent acquisition.
  • Connect in-person with the talent team and company for on-site events or operations site tours when applicable.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of Recruitment or Talent Acquisition experience, preferably in a high-volume trades / manufacturing capacity.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and best practices in hiring.
  • Strong customer service and/or business partnering experience.
  • Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office, Power point, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills to work seamlessly with other departments.
  • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems and recruitment software.
  • Exemplifies a sense of urgency, strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to create exceptional planning and preparation skills needed for forecasting needs.

Key Responsibilities
ยท Lead the enterprise revenue cycle strategy across a multi-state, multi-specialty medical practice, overseeing patient access, coding, billing, accounts receivable, denial management, and collections.
