The Opportunity:
FSEC invites applications for an Undergraduate Summer Research Internship focused on low-carbon methanol production from fugitive methane resources. This internship will take place at M2X Energy Inc. (Rockledge, Florida), where the intern will collaborate with both researchers and industry engineers. All research and hands-on activities will occur at this off-campus sponsor facility.
Responsibilities:
This program focuses on supporting activities related to process development, optimizations and designs of portable, modular gas-to-methanol technologies in partnership with M2X Energy Inc., which involves, but is not limited to:
Development and review of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Creation and support of CAD drawings for equipment layouts, skid assemblies, and process components.
Design, assembly, and experimentation with benchtop instruments, including data acquisition and analysis.
Basic process control support and maintenance of engineering and manufacturing documentation.
Assembly, modification, and operation of flow reactors and adsorption testing systems (such as breakthrough rigs) to generate data for pressure swing adsorption (PSA) modeling and validation.
Participation in chemical laboratory experiments and processes, including but not limited to testing adsorbent materials to enhance methane recovery from renewable natural gas streams.
Preparation of written and oral reports summarizing experimental results, processes, and findings.
Minimum Qualifications:
Enrollment or recent completion in an engineering or science undergraduate program and basic proficiency in one or more of the following: chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or chemistry with scientific lab work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with process diagrams and CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and interpreting or drafting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
Hands-on experience in bench-scale instrumentation development and experimentation.
Familiar with piping assembly, fittings, and gas cylinder handling.
Track records with detailed documentation of experimental procedure, SOPs plus good data management skills.
Familiarity with data processing, analysis and computing tools such as Excel, Origin, MATLAB and Python.

DescriptionWorks under the clinical supervision of the practice physician(s) and clinic supervisor/manager and is responsible for assisting the physicians in the practice. The Welder II is under the supervision of the E&A supervisor or group leader, the technician will perform all functions under this job description. Welder II performs tack welding and finish welding of piping systems utilizing both SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW and GMAW welding procedures. Certification to CCC procedures required. Welder II welds small vessels and structural components utilizing SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW and GMAW welding processes. Welder II performs these procedures to meet CCC certified procedures. (These may include ASME, API, AWS, and ANSI code certification.) Materials may include carbon steel, stainless steel and various other nickel-based alloys. Welder II is able to back-gouge using carbon-air-arc or plasma for full penetration welds. Welder II will clean and polish welds to company design specifications. Welder II is able to pass non-destructive testing of pressure retaining welds, on both pipe and vessels. Welder II works from drawings/sketches to determine weld size, weld location and weld process. Welder II inspects own work to ensure compliance to drawings and weld procedures and makes necessary repairs. Welder II will assist with incoming parts inspection and final product inspection and complete appropriate documentation. Welder II will operate Fork trucks, jib cranes and overhead crane. Welder II will complete ASME code weld log documentation daily - high pressure cyclesorbs and assist in other areas of the plan as assigned.

- This individual shall also participate and lead cultural transformation across the site to achieve sustainable results
- Work closely with the Regional Center of Excellence leaders to verify quality of programs and processes via audit and self-assessment tools
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.), or equivalent from four-year college or university is required (preferably in an Environmental Management discipline, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering)

Position: Welder I
Location: Equipment & Assembly Plant - Pittsburgh, PA

An entry level position under the supervision of the E&A supervisor or group leader, the Welder I will perform all functions under this job description. This includes all necessary functions to maintain a clean and safe shop. The Welder I will comply with all Company and Safety Policies and procedures in the performance of assigned duties. The Welder I performs tack welding and finish welding of piping systems utilizing both SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW welding procedures. Certification to CCC procedures is required. The Welder I welds vessels and structural components utilizing SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW welding processes. Performs these procedures to meet CCC certified procedures. The Welder I inspects own work to ensure compliance to drawings and weld procedures and makes necessary repairs. The Welder I will operate Fork trucks, jib cranes and overhead crane after training. The Welder I assist in other areas of the plan as assigned.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
- Associates degree (A.A.), or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred

Position: Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)
Reports to: Director of Operations
Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000

Purpose of Position:
We are seeking a Production Supervisor I to help us continually aspire to our purpose and mission by ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of a manufacturing shift of highly engaged personnel. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining an energized environment, where employees work together to safely produce quality products that meet or exceed our customer’s requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain high level of visibility with production staff. Use hands-on approach to communicate daily goals and involve production staff in problem solving.
- Develop a high-performance work team with high levels of worker morale, satisfaction, and performance.
- Create and maintain a respectful work environment by listening, seeking facts to support decisions, managing one's own reactions, and addressing unacceptable behavior.
- Help production staff rise-up, improve and develop through performance management. Provide coaching and performance communication to support individual development. Collaborate with workforce to create individual development plans.
- Review general status of production schedules to identify and resolve problems.
- Look ahead in the schedule to identify any future pain points and mitigate prior to hitting shop floor.
- Lead daily fast-response meeting.
- Ensure the desired product quality levels are achieved through use of standard work and training to those standards, training in operation and inspection techniques, and use of tools/data.
- Support and implement new, customer-focused processes in accordance with lean principles and practices. Provide training and coaching to improve standard work, work center organization (5S), and housekeeping. Actively provide change leadership as required.
- Support and foster an environment of continuous improvement by encouraging production staff to challenge existing processes and implement solutions that enhance the overall effectiveness of the operation.
- Support production staff in understanding company policies and practices.
- Maintain time, attendance, vacation, and production records.
- Take ownership of process related problems and support production staff in taking corrective action to improve the overall performance of the team.
- Communicate with and listen to production staff daily regarding work team performance, strategic initiatives, policy changes, safety, quality, etc.
- Communicate with other supervisors and appropriate personnel regarding equipment, safety, work center schedules, company policies and practices, performance improvement plans, etc.
- Hire and retain a diverse, highly qualified staff and provide ongoing performance feedback. Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
- Improve product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput using lean manufacturing concepts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience and knowledge.
- 2-3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing methodology preferred
- Experience in identifying and driving operational change and excellence.
- Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communications
- Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
