Job Summary and QualificationsThe Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. As a vital part of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist performs a variety of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures and monitors patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.
What You Will Do in This Role:
- Under the general supervision of the RT Supervisor or Team Leader, you will perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ordered by a physician
- Your duties will include medical gas administration, aerosol therapy, obtaining and analyzing blood specimens, performing patient testing, operating and maintaining various types of respiratory and cardiopulmonary equipment, providing mechanical ventilation, maintaining artificial airways, assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, providing patient education, monitoring equipment and patient response to therapy
- Your additional responsibilities will include completing documentation of in-patient and departmental records, cleaning equipment, and maintaining safety and infection control practices.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
- Associates or Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program required
- Must hold a current Respiratory Therapist license from the State Board for Respiratory Care
- NBRC RRT
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS preferred upon hire
- ACLS and NRP required within 6 months of hire
- One year of recent clinical experience preferred

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for the initiation of standard therapy, ventilator management, protocols and diagnostic procedures. Responsible for providing care to infants, pediatrics, adults and geriatric patients as defined by competency.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.

3. *Monitors and administers respiratory care modalities to patients; identifies contra-indications and patient response to therapy; records therapy and outcomes in the patients medical record.
4. *Develops plans for the delivery of respiratory care as directed by physician(s) or protocols.
5. *Contacts providers regarding changes in the patients condition and treatment needs.
6. *Performs arterial phlebotomy; draws from arterial lines.
7. Runs samples using IStat when competency is complete.
8. *Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and airway management.
9. Responds and participates in Bryans Rapid Response Teams (BRRTs).
10. Provides tracheotomy care/inner cannula changes. Provides stoma assessment and wound prevention as needed.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:
Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network.

Summary:
Job Summary:This position will work under proximal supervision of a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner to coordinate the delivery of comprehensive cardiopulmonary care by administering and managing a range of therapeutic and diagnostic interventions and advanced procedures across all patient care areas. The Respiratory Therapist LP role ensures the highest standards of care in complex patient scenarios. Focus may be in adult or neonatal-pediatric respiratory care. Required Job Qualifications:
•Minimum of an associate’s degree from a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) approved program.
•Pass National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentialing exam prior to start date
•Apply for Illinois license prior to start date
•Obtain Registered Respiratory Therapist credential within 90 days of start date
•BLS prior to start date
•ACLS prior to start date (adults)
•PALS within 90 days of start date (neo/peds)
•Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - obtained within 180 days of hire (neo/peds)
•Competencies
oPass departmental competencies in adult and/or neonatal/pediatric respiratory care.
oTechnical skills are required to adapt equipment and procedures to patient needs.
oAnalytical skills are required to evaluate patients and their clinical response to therapy
oCustomer service skills are required to effectively meet the needs of patients, families, and members of the healthcare team on an almost constant basis.

Job Responsibilities and Expectations:
•Practice under the proximal supervision of a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner
•Assess patient cardiopulmonary status through clinical observation, patient assessment, and physiological monitoring
•Administer bronchial hygiene and therapeutic interventions guided by evidence-based protocols
•Recommend and implement appropriate interventions to include but not limited to initiation, alteration and discontinuation of therapy based on patient assessment
•Assess patients before, during and after the administration or application of any medication, procedure or device
•Provide invasive and non-invasive ventilator management based on patient clinical assessment, diagnostic results, ventilation values and waveform analysis
•Perform airway management through assessment, assistance with placement, securement, maintenance, and removal of an artificial airway
•Provide special procedures to include but not limited to external transport, high-risk delivery attendance, surfactant administration, Organ Donor Care Center (ODCC) services, esophageal manometry, Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT), manual prone positioning, continuous medication nebulization, bedside bronchoscopy, bronchoscopic cryotherapy, bedside tracheostomy, high frequency jet ventilation, lung ultrasound, ultrasound arterial blood gas (ABG) acquisition, specialty gas administration, nitric oxide challenges, and during Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) support
•Conduct internal patient transports requiring respiratory support
•Acquire and process blood gas samples
•Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
•Participate as a member of the Rapid Response Team
•Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary care team
•Document work timely, completely, and accurately, including documentation in the patient medical record, department records, and patient charges
•Provide and document patient/family education
•Precept students, new employees and provide observational learning opportunities through shadowing
•Contribute to quality improvement efforts through frontline feedback and participation in committee initiatives in conjunction with department leadership
•Participate in clinical research
•Pass departmental initial competencies in adult and/or neonatal-pediatric respiratory care
•Maintain active status of credentials and certifications
•Maintain American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) Membership

- $2000 + Weekly gross Local Pay
- $53/ hr.
on w2 (Negotiable) Schedule: 36 hours per week | Every Other Weekend | 1 Summer Holiday & 1 Winter Holiday Shift: Nights – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Note: · We do have other departments, Shift and locations available, so if you are interested in discussing for any other position then please let me know.

Qualifications & Skills: Education: • High school diploma or equivalent • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program Licensure & Certifications: • Current New Jersey Respiratory Care License • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred • Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Experience: • Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required • 3 years of experience preferred Required Clinical Skills: • Mechanical ventilation management • Airway management • Arterial blood gas analysis Required Soft Skills: • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient education • Critical thinking and rapid problem-solving abilities • Adaptability and ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment • Team-oriented approach to patient care Job Summary: · The Registered Respiratory Therapist works under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, Technical Supervisor, and Shift Supervisors to provide comprehensive respiratory care services.
The role includes administering respiratory therapy treatments, managing respiratory support equipment, and delivering patient-centered care in accordance with department policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities: • Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction for the treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Assist with endotracheal intubations and perform ventilator setup, monitoring, and management.
• Perform respiratory assessments and gather clinical information to evaluate patient needs and determine appropriate respiratory interventions.
• Conduct arterial blood gas analysis and interpret results to guide respiratory care plans.
• Deliver disease-specific education and respiratory care instruction to patients and caregivers.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of respiratory treatments, patient responses, and education provided.
• Foster positive relationships with patients, caregivers, and healthcare staff to support coordinated care.
• Adhere to organizational policies, clinical protocols, and professional standards of practice.
• Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.
