Buyer

Position Summary

The Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, components, and services required to support automotive manufacturing operations, including injection molding environments. This role ensures continuity of supply, competitive pricing, and strong supplier performance while partnering closely with internal teams to support production and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Purchase raw materials, components, and indirect goods to support manufacturing and production needs
• Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms with suppliers
• Create, manage, and track purchase orders and supplier commitments
• Work closely with production, engineering, quality, and planning teams to align purchasing activities with operational needs
• Monitor inventory levels and support efforts to balance supply availability with inventory targets
• Address supplier performance issues related to quality, delivery, or cost
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and system data
• Support cost‑reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of Buyer or Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Prior experience in automotive manufacturing and/or plastic injection molding
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Experience working in a fast‑paced production environment
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office tools
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
