Job Summary
The Manager of Finance serves as a key operational leader within the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering (AE) Finance team and provides dedicated financial support to both AE and the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory (ASDL). This role oversees daily financial operations, supervising and developing a team responsible for processing and reviewing routine financial transactions, monitoring budgets, reconciling accounts, and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data across state, sponsored, and other funding sources. The Manager ensures timely financial reporting, compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements, and effective internal controls. Working closely with AE administrative partners and ASDLs Executive Director and senior research leadership, the position provides financial analysis, operational guidance, and budget oversight to support research activities, resource planning, and the successful execution of complex academic and research initiatives.

Responsibilities: Keep bookkeeping systems, sales databases, customer records, and related organizational tools current to accurately report progress to monthly and quarterly sales quotas to stakeholders
Continue your education on evolving insurance industry protocols to adequately fulfill all policy requirements and monitor insurance claims to customers’ satisfaction

Hospital Sisters Health System is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to lead our Central Illinois Market and Physician Enterprise. The market structure includes five Illinois HSHS Hospitals, the System's outpatient physician group, and is based at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.
This position holds direct responsibility for the financial operations and proper application of accounting principles, practices, and procedures for all financial activities of the market operations. The CFO is responsible for monitoring the financial performance and the maintenance of appropriate financial plans and forecasts. This role reports directly to the Central Illinois Market President & CEO with matrixed reporting into the HSHS Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and the Physician Enterprise President.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned collaborative financial leader, ideally with prior CFO experience, that is comfortable managing in a matrix environment. This individual must have a proven track record in successfully managing all financial operations of a region made up of multiple acute care and outpatient settings by collaborating with other leaders to optimize success. The ideal candidate is also comfortable participating in establishing and implementing strategic business plans and aligning operations and strategy within the market and with overall Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) strategies and goals. This leader must be comfortable flexing responsibility across multiple locations and continue to evolve to align with market structures. Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is required.
- Master's degree in finance, business, health care administration, or related field is preferred.
- Ten or more years of accounting and/or finance experience is required; four out of the ten years must be in a hospital system or hospital market setting.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
- 5+ years of hospital or Regional CFO experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with an employed physician group and/or ACO is highly preferred.
