· Solicit ongoing feedback from Test Engineering Manager, Workcell Manager (WCM), Business Unit Director (BUD), peers and team member on team member's contribution to the Workcell team. Provide ongoing coaching and counseling to team member based on feedback.
· Express pride in staff and encourage them to feel good about their accomplishments.
· Perform team member evaluations professionally and on time.
· Drive individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational metrics and the achievement of the organizational goals.
· Coordinate activities of large teams and keep them focused in times of crises.
· Ensure recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently in area of responsibility.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Strategy and Direction:
· Know and understand the campus strategic directions.
· Define, develop and implement test engineering strategies, which contribute to the campus strategic directions.
· Provide regular updates to Test Engineering Manager on the execution of the strategy.
Cost Management:
· Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).
· Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value.
· Provide feedback to Test Engineering Manager on cost and cost trends.
TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead the workcell team (assigned to customer) as a Lead Project Engineer.
· Communicate all aspects of design and development to customer's engineering staff.
· Perform duties, which involve conventional engineering practices that may include a variety of complex duties from ICT, FVT, ESS to System level test.
· Assign Test Engineers to customer Workcells.
· Monitor the performance of each Workcell, with regards to test, giving guidance to ensure continuous improvements.
· Manage the engineering test function for standard and/or custom devices.
· Identify and evaluate test procedures and test equipment required to perform quality checks.
· Manager equipment and product test performance and make recommendations for changes in the testing process.
· Develop special test equipment and software text programs as required for the successful completion of project.
· Develop customer setup training program for new product testing procedures.
· Lead and implement training and assist test engineers.

Certifies design specification for ASME BPVC Section III Piping and/or Piping Supports Prepare and review engineering specifications, drawings, CAD models, and other documentation that communicate the design and technical aspects of piping components associated with NSSS systems.
Collaboration with drafters and requires the engineer to reviews models that have been developed in Siemens NX.
Leads the evaluation of design solutions (piping re-route, reconfigurations of supports, etc.) which satisfy piping stress criteria.
Provides oversight and mentoring to early career engineers in piping stress analysis and/or pipe support analysis.
Education / Experience: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or nuclear engineering is required (advanced degree is preferred).

· Provide feedback to Test Engineering Manager on cost and cost trends.
TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead the workcell team (assigned to customer) as a Lead Project Engineer.
· Communicate all aspects of design and development to customer’s engineering staff.
· Perform duties, which involve conventional engineering practices that may include a variety of complex duties from ICT, FVT, ESS to System level test.
· Assign Test Engineers to customer Workcells.
· Monitor the performance of each Workcell, with regards to test, giving guidance to ensure continuous improvements.
· Manage the engineering test function for standard and/or custom devices.
· Identify and evaluate test procedures and test equipment required to perform quality checks.
· Manager equipment and product test performance and make recommendations for changes in the testing process.
· Develop special test equipment and software text programs as required for the successful completion of project.
· Develop customer setup training program for new product testing procedures.
· Lead and implement training and assist test engineers.
· Explore new avenues and test technologies for quality improvements on product assigned.
· Perform detailed analysis on test quality of product assigned, identify trends and spearhead corrective actions.
· Monitor, through assigned test engineer, all NPI activities.

What you’ll achieve
We build enterprise-grade, massively scalable cluster-based storage systems running across Linux and BSD. Our portfolio includes a multi-petabyte S3 object store and a scale-out NAS platform. We’re a modern, scrum-based engineering org that ships with high velocity and quality, using the best tools, hardware, and practices.
As a Systems Engineer, you will contribute to building a best-in-class platform stack, the foundation upon which these products are built.
You will:
Support the hardware architecture team to deliver a complex storage appliance with the highest quality and best in class features
Work cross-functionally to track, manage and close design issues for both new product introductions (NPI) and in-market (IM) activities
Qualify hardware components (Drives, DIMMs, cables, switches, etc.), firmware and/or software
Load, configure, test and support unstructured storage appliance clusters
Support platform engineering development/test environments to support platform performance testing, customer failure replication, network configuration and hardware component qualification
Assist in physical installation and setup hardware in Massachusetts development and testing environments (Hopkinton and Franklin)

Desirable Requirements
Knowledge of Intel based architecture
Knowledge of hard drive, SSD, DIMM and/or other storage devices
Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments
Networking experience
Proficiency in at least one of C/C++ , Java , or Python ; willingness to learn across the stack.
2+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent experience
Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The salary range for the Software Engineer position is 130K to 155K
