We are seeking a Indirect Procurement Senior Manager for our First Quality Products Company located in McElhattan, PA. This position may be based out of our Central PA site (McElhattan, PA & Lewistown, PA) or Macon, GA.
This position will be responsible for leading the indirect procurement department covering all FQ Absorbent Hygiene companies (AbHy). The individual in this role will manage strategic sourcing initiatives, approve spend in certain categories, work closely with other functional department team members to standardize and streamline spend, lead negotiations with vendors, and collaborate across AbHy plants to ensure consistency of processes and purchases to leverage spend and deliver the best overall value for FQ. Primary responsibilities include:

He/she will demonstrate a high-level of collaboration and strategic support to business growth by develops CapEx category sourcing strategies, cost reduction opportunities and value creation for CAPEX projects(including end-to-end procurement for production equipment and local engineering construction/renovation projects, while ensuring compliance with local regulations).
We are looking for individuals that are entrepreneurial in spirit that can collaborate across our internal stakeholders and across our CapEx procurement team to achieve company objectives and do so with a sense of urgency. This individual would be responsible for the full range of procurement activities from start to finish, including a mix of strategic and tactical support for our Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects by working closely with Global CAPEX team.
Duties & Responsibilities: -
- Brings and enhances supplier / industry market intelligence and insight as a source of innovation and value creation.
- Develops sourcing strategies and cost reduction opportunities while ensuring supply and quality.
- Manage end-to-end process including, but not limited to PO Creation, RFI/RFQ/RFP process, Invoice Resolution, full supplier and stakeholder relationship management
- Close collaboration with Operation, Engineering, QA and sales to ensure successful development and execution of new capital investments
- Manage functional KPIs, including reporting savings in alignment with procurement finance.
- Negotiates and awards larger (multi-year) contracts
- Expertise in contract structures, contract negotiation, understanding/communicating contract risk to the business
- Provides highest level of service to internal and external customers.
Education & Experience: -
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain/Operations Management, Economics/Finance, or similar.
- 10 years of experience in purchasing, Engineering or other related fields
- 7 years of experience Purchasing Capital Expenditure (CapEx)
Requirements & Skills: -
- Deep knowledge of procurement systems and sourcing of CapEx projects, MRO services. With experience in international equipment procurement (import & export) .
- Excellent communication and negotiations skills

The Role We Want You For
As the Project Engineer (Mechanical Procurement), you will support the CDC team in developing competitive HVAC/mechanical estimates and procurement plans, sourcing equipment and materials, and building relationships with manufacturers, reps, and subcontract partners. You will work closely with Clayco project teams, design partners, and the technical group to confirm specified systems meet performance requirements, project standards, and budget. You will help identify lead-time risks early and contribute to winning work through accurate takeoffs, pricing, and value options.
The Specifics of the Role
- Perform mechanical/HVAC takeoffs and quantity surveys (major HVAC equipment and other mechanical equipment and systems) and develop detailed procurement estimates.
- Solicit, level, and validate supplier/manufacturer quotes; confirm scope, inclusions/exclusions, alternates, and delivery assumptions.
- Support intercompany sales efforts by engaging OEMs, reps, and distributors, maintaining pricing intelligence, and helping identify new procurement opportunities.
- Evaluate bills of material for completeness and accuracy; flag gaps, long-lead items, and coordination concerns (power, controls, structural, seismic, space/clearances).
- Assist with contract review from a procurement perspective (commercial terms, freight, taxes, escalation, liquidated damages, warranty, service/startup).
- Gather and prepare submittal packages (equipment schedules, cut sheets, performance data, controls narratives) and track reviews/returns to keep the buyout schedule on track.
- Create purchase requisitions / product lists and support purchase order and change order preparation with clear scope and quantities.
- Track orders and logistics (lead times, releases, fabrication, shipping, storage); coordinate with the project team on site constraints and delivery windows.
- Maintain procurement documentation (quote logs, bid tabs, vendor correspondence) and support closeout deliverables as assigned (warranties, O&M manuals, spare parts).
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of mechanical construction and HVAC systems/equipment; able to read plans/specs and speak the language of engineers, contractors, and OEMs.
- 5+ years of procurement experience preferred; or equivalent combination of mechanical/HVAC field, estimating, or project support experience with demonstrated procurement capability.
- Experience with estimating/takeoffs, bid leveling, and vendor communication; detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
- Working knowledge of construction fundamentals, coordination practices, and project documentation (submittals, RFIs, change orders).
- Comfortable negotiating with suppliers and understanding commercial terms; proficient with Excel and procurement/PM tools.
