Responsibilities

This role will manage a broad policy portfolio, starting with serving our defense and aerospace

members, and companies focused on critical and emerging technologies with a defense lens.

The successful candidate will have a strategic vision for enhancing U.S.-India defense relations across

government-to-government initiatives such as the U.S.-India COMPACT (Catalyzing

Opportunities for Military Partnership, Accelerated Commerce & Technology), U.S.-India

TRUST (Transforming the Relationship Utilizing Strategic Technology), and INDUS-X (India-

U.S. Defense Acceleration Ecosystem).

On a global front, the candidate must also be familiar with initiatives like the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) and the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QUAD).

The successful candidate will lead policy developments in the defense portfolio, with strong

connections with serving and past defense officials in the U.S. Department of War, related U.S.

federal agencies, and the U.S. aerospace and defense industry. The director will be responsible

for the expansion of the aerospace and defense membership base.

The successful candidate is a self-starter and will be able to identify key issues, themes, and prepare

background briefs, engage key stakeholders, and lead the policy discussions, stakeholder

meetings, and initiatives.

This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer of USISPF.

Qualifications

•15 years of experience related to the defense sector. Prior consulting/advocacy work in

the sector is a plus.

• A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a relevant discipline. A Master’s degree is

preferred.

• Strong networks in the private sector for the defense and aerospace companies.

• A basic familiarity and understanding of India’s culture, political structure, government

functioning, and business environment is required.

About the Role (Relocation Provided)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembler to join our manufacturing team, supporting the assembly of aerospace and aircraft components. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on mechanical assembly experience who is looking to grow within the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly of aerospace or aircraft parts according to work instructions, drawings, and specifications
• Use hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment to assemble components accurately

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

• Responsible for supervising all technical operations related to the department. (I.E. Structures, Bond Shop, Paint Shop, etc.)
• Monitors, reviews, and provides daily work assignments and expectations for completion of tasks, for each Mechanic / Technician in their department.
• Responsible for reading, understanding, and interpreting work instructions, technical data, engine repairs, drawings. Implements these areas to the scope of work.
• Responsible for maintaining the status report for the respective area.
• Liaison with engineering for requesting Final ERO’s or issues with the ERO.
• Communicate with Quality any issue, additional damage found, or alternative suggested repair paths.
• Responsible for monitoring and maintaining paint and ship dates within the respective department. Schedules individual tasks for each mechanic and each job.
• Conduct daily morning meetings with the respective departments.
• Communicate throughout each day, with Production Control and Production Manager, any hardware related issues or needs, and any schedule issues.
• Communicates with all departments via email.
• Responsible for keeping the respective departments clean and organized daily and ensuring efficient workflow, and housekeeping standardsare met.
• Responsibilities include providing training, when needed to ensure that only properly qualified employeesare performing maintenance.

Provide critical, constructive feedback on students' written reports and oral presentations. Coordinating and participating in the MS Plan II exam of each student at the end of the capstone project period. This pool encompasses engineering science and technology specializations relevant to both mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering.

Job Overview

A CNC machinist at Betts may work in any of our machining departments which include 3-axis mills, 5 axis mills, horizontal mills, dual-spindle lathe (with live tooling), and 5-axis machine centers (mill head with turning turret).
