Position Details: Co-worker Health RN – Mercy Hospital Fort Smith FULL TIME No weekends or holidays! Key Responsibilities: Serve as a primary health resource for all co-workers, starting with onboarding and continuing throughout their employment.

Plan, organize, and direct all activities of Co-worker Health Services in alignment with federal/state regulations and agency requirements.

Conduct comprehensive health assessments for new hires, including drug screening, medical history review, lab work, chest x-rays (if indicated), and immunization verification.

Administer and manage the TB skin screening program in compliance with state guidelines.

Perform respirator fit testing and training as needed.

Promote and administer annual influenza and other vaccines, ensuring co-workers are informed about contraindications, side effects, and precautions.

Provide first aid and follow-up care for on-the-job injuries, collaborating with departments and supervisors to support recovery and return-to-work plans.

May serve as Workers' Compensation coordinator, managing injury documentation, treatment facilitation, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Maintain strict confidentiality of all co-worker health records and sensitive information.

Compile and present monthly and annual reports to support compliance with Joint Commission, state health departments, and other regulatory bodies.

Stay current on Co-worker Health trends and regulations, updating policies and procedures accordingly.

Participate in and support wellness, needlestick safety, and environmental safety committees.

Experience: One (1) year of general work experience that demonstrates the ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situations; to learn regulations, methods, and techniques through classroom training and/or on-the-job instruction; and the ability to gather concise information through questioning, observation, and examination of documents and records; OR 

Education Substitution: A bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR 

Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of general work experience AND successfully completed college education. This will be calculated using your resume and official or unofficial transcripts submitted with your application.

Experience: One year of specialized work experience that shows you have the skills necessary to:

Education Substitution for the GL-7 grade level: A bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement, which is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average (i.e., GPA of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0), or (3) honor society membership. Or will receive a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. Or one full year of graduate-level education in a field of study related to law enforcement (e.g., criminal justice, homeland security, justice studies, law enforcement, courts and judicial systems, forensic technology, forensic psychology, or corrections and rehabilitation) from an accredited college or university; OR 

A Combination of Experience and Education: This will be calculated using your resume and official or unofficial transcripts submitted with your application.

Duty Locations

Duties and Responsibilities

Typical assignments include:

  • Support high school students in their transition to post-secondary programs by working with them to identify, apply, enroll, and persist in quality, affordable, and supportive four-year, two-year and certificate programs..
  • Prepare alumni in their transition to career through workforce readiness skills, resume support, interview preparation, and connections to internships and employment partnerships.
  • Provide constructive and critical feedback to all students and alumni using a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.
  • Assist in executing workshops and community events as it relates to each line of business.
  • Problem-solve and support in crisis management by coordinating services and removing barriers.
  • Update all data and case notes while maintaining the confidentiality of alumni in Salesforce.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partner high schools and summer camps.
  • Execute other duties as assigned. This position occasionally requires non-traditional work hours to run evening or weekend events and respond to alumni needs as they arise.


The ideal candidate should:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in education, social work or non-profit including direct work with youth from disinvested communities.
  • Have a sincere commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion with a belief that all children deserve equitable access to a high-quality education.
  • Possess strong relationship-building skills including the ability to navigate challenging conversations across lines of difference and to listen sincerely and effectively.
  • Be detail oriented with exceptional communication and organizational skills.

  • Actively engage in the life of the school and community.
  • Knowledge of high school and post-secondary educational systems in the Chicagoland area is preferred.

The College Admission Prep Planning Counselor plays a key role in guiding high school students and their families through the U.S. college admissions process. The ideal candidate brings deep admissions expertise, strong mentorship skills, and a student-centered approach.


Key Responsibilities


  • Advise students on building competitive college applications, including college selection, application strategies (Early Action, Early Decision, Regular Decision), and completion of Common App, Coalition, UC, and other platforms
  • Guide students in selecting high school coursework aligned with college admission requirements and academic strengths
  • Coach students on brainstorming, drafting, and refining personal statements, supplemental essays, and extracurricular résumés
  • Provide guidance on SAT/ACT preparation strategies, testing timelines, and test-optional policies
  • Support families in navigating FAFSA, CSS Profile, and scholarship application processes

  • Collaborate with parents, school counselors, and teachers to ensure consistent student support
  • Stay informed on admissions trends, policy updates, and changes in higher education

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required in Counseling, Education, or a related field
  • 10 or more years of experience in college counseling, admissions, or education
  • Strong understanding of U.S. college admissions processes, including application development and essay coaching
  • Familiarity with admissions requirements for Texas universities and Ivy League institutions
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Experience with Common App, FAFSA, and Google Workspace


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a U.S. high school or college admissions office
  • Professional certification (NACAC, HECA, IECA, or similar)
  • Experience supporting underrepresented or first-generation college-bound students
