Sky Limit Systems is partnering with a leading aerospace manufacturer that’s embracing change and building for the future — and we’re helping them find a Manufacturing Engineer ready to elevate build quality, throughput, and reliability on day one.

This role reports directly to the Operations Manager and collaborates daily with Production, Quality, and Design Engineering to develop, standardize, and continuously improve manufacturing processes. It’s a great opportunity for someone who’s hands-on, data-driven, and eager to grow into technical leadership as the company scales.


What You’ll Do:

  • Own process development from concept to stable production (routing, work instructions, tooling/fixtures, and standard work)
  • Drive NPI/ECN implementation: DFM/DFA reviews, build trials, PFMEA, control plans, and process validation
  • Lead root-cause and corrective actions (8D, 5-Why) for yield, rework, and escape reduction
  • Optimize cells for flow, takt, and ergonomics; apply Lean/Kaizen to cut waste and cycle time
  • Partner with Quality on FAI/PPAP, SPC, and capability studies; support AS9100 and customer audits
  • Translate engineering models/drawings (GD&T) into clear shop-floor documentation and traveler content
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain on make/buy, special processes, and vendor qualification
  • Champion safety and mistake-proofing (poka-yoke), ensuring robust, repeatable builds


What We’re Looking For:

  • 3–7 years in manufacturing/process engineering (aerospace preferred; precision machining, assembly, composites, or metallics a plus)
  • Strong proficiency with GD&T, PFMEA, control plans, and statistical methods (SPC, Cp/Cpk)
  • Hands-on experience creating work instructions, fixtures/tooling, and routings in an ERP/MES
  • Proven track record running Kaizens and delivering measurable improvements (yield, cycle time, cost)
  • Excellent communicator who thrives on the shop floor and in cross-functional problem solving
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related)

Our Senior Embedded Real-Time Software Developer/Integrator is a technical position that works in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment to architect, design, implement, test, debug, and deploy Software for Firmware (FPGA) and Hardware solutions that meet current and next generation autonomous avionics systems' needs. The Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) Department in Tucson, AZ is a multi-discipline organization responsible for designing, building and integrating state of the art testing environments (flight simulators for missiles), as the last step before flight test.  On our team, you will work with weapon system designers to understand requirements, design solutions, integrate, and deploy the systems to help support tactical software development, testing, and delivery for missiles to the warfighter.

This position is within the Effectors Center of the HWIL organization, and is an onsite role located in Tucson, AZ

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop software to control Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) facilities (flight simulators for missiles).

  • Determines end user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition. Ensures hardware and software standards are met.

  • Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use.

  • Software design, coding and integration in a real-time environment.

  • May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards. Includes control modeling (model based design)

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other STEM related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience with software development in C++, using the object-oriented features.

  • Experience including at least two of the following: Embedded Software, Embedded Software Security, Embedded Operating Systems (Linux, RTOS, VxWorks, etc), Software Architecture Design and Implementation.

  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Strong organization, coordination, planning, teaming skills, as well as written and oral communication skills.

  • Experience generating technical documentation and reports.

  • Experience with RF theory and application in systems.

Job Summary:

The Bike Shop in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Fabrication Lead Tech who will work in the mechanical fabrication shop, executing a variety of mechanical fabrication efforts at an exceptional quality level, while collaborating in a dynamic, fast-paced, integrated team environment. The position interacts daily with fellow support technicians and engineers, to successfully meet the prototype and test manufacturing needs of our internal and external engineering customers.
 
 
Responsibilities to Anticipate:  

  • Quick-turn machining of critical prototype, aerospace parts and test assemblies from metal and non-metal materials utilizing precision manual mills and lathes

  • Use of general machine shop tools and support equipment including the use of typical dimensional measuring tools

  • Work with basic sketches and, underdeveloped drawing packages as well as model renderings

  • Responsible for all aspects of fabrication including part/machine setup, safe equipment operation, part inspection, managing their workload, supporting customers’ schedules, delegating, and coordinating work when required

  • Work in a multi-program-controlled area.

  • Interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges.
  • Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals.
  • Support and participate in design peer reviews, resolving action items, and conduct trade studies to make sound technical decisions.
  • Working knowledge of First Article Inspection process (FAI), work along side Quality engineers in support of that in addition to Raytheon Source Inspection (RSI).
  • Apply knowledge and experience in technical problem solving and hardware development in a fast paced, team environment.
  • Mentor and guide a small team of engineers within program.
  • Utilize Raytheon hardware tools and processes.

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Experience with design, development, and production of mechanical equipment and/or hardware, preferably for use in Military environments.
  • Experience in the development, creation, release, and updates of mechanical technical data packages.
  • Experience in the review and interpretation of technical documentation in a production environment.
  • Experience with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T (Geometric Dimension and Tolerances)

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • Advanced degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or hardware system design.
  • Experience with production environment for military products.
  • Experience working in a factory supporting full-rate production of missile components and assemblies.
  • Working knowledge of Military and Commercial Specifications.
  • Demonstrated team player, self-driven leader with excellent collaboration skills.
  • Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software.
  • Experience with PTC Windchill Product Data Management or equivalent configuration/data management software.
  • Must possess strong technical writing and oral communication skills.
  • Must b e able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
