Position description
The Bancroft Library seeks an inclusive, innovative, user-centered, and collaborative individual to join the Public Services team as the Instruction and Outreach Librarian. Reporting to the Head of Public Services, the Instruction and Outreach Librarian will design and lead instruction and outreach activities that engage constituent communities and promote the use of The Bancroft Library's collections. Serving as a work lead for the instruction team, which includes the Instruction Specialist, this role is responsible for collaborating cross functional teams within and outside The Bancroft (including curators, archivists, librarians, faculty, graduate students, and the general public), and coordinating the workflow for all teaching and learning activity. This role is also responsible for developing pedagogical approaches that move beyond lecture-based show-and-tell and engage users by developing critical archival literacy through inquiry-based learning, building a community of practice with archivists, educators, and community members. Through coordinating workflows and developing meaningful pedagogies, the Instruction and Outreach Librarian will promote inclusive practices and exhibit a commitment to accessibility in the development and delivery of services and programs. As a member of the Public Services team, this position is also responsible for assisting with reading room operations and answering reference questions.

The Bancroft Library of the University of California, Berkeley, is one of the largest and most heavily used libraries of rare materials in the West. Its holdings include more than 800,000 volumes, 210 million manuscript items, 9 million photographs and other pictorial materials, 86,000 microforms, 9.4 million digital files, and 25,000 maps, as well as numerous other categories of unique material. The two largest collections are the Bancroft Collection of Western and Latin Americana and the Rare Books Collection. The archival and rare book materials of the Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life are also part of the Bancroft holdings. The Bancroft Library is home to three research groups: the Oral History Center (formerly the Regional Oral History Office), the Mark Twain Papers, and the Center for the Tebtunis Papyri. Responsibilities
- Leads the work of the team involved in designing instruction and outreach, which includes the Instruction Specialist, members of the curatorial team, and librarians and archivists, introducing the campus community and public to The Bancroft Library's vast holdings, critical archival literacy, and research skills.
- Explores and implements new pedagogical approaches in experiential teaching and learning to engage users in research and critical interpretation using special collections materials.
- Works with colleagues across the UC Berkeley Libraries, faculty across disciplines, and communities outside the University to build partnerships, share best practices, and create new resources around instruction and primary source literacy.
- Coordinates the workflow for all teaching and learning activities at The Bancroft Library, employing new tools and redefining workflows for increased communication and efficiency.
- Facilitates outreach programming for a broad community of users, working closely with Bancroft colleagues, including selecting and paging material, designing sessions or events, and set-up/take-down for special visits, tours, pop-up exhibitions, fellowship programs, and the filming of Bancroft's holdings, spaces, and services.
- Creates, develops, and maintains instructional tools, aids, guides, webpages, and tutorials.
- Collects statistics and conducts assessment documenting instruction and outreach activities, striving to establish a programmatic culture of continual improvement and adaptation.
- Supports reading room activity by working shifts on registration, reference, or circulation desks in the reading room and answering reference questions both in-person and virtual.
- Serves on department, Library, and/or University-wide committees, task forces, and/or working groups.
- Contributes to the national and international reputation of The Bancroft Library and the UC Berkeley Library through professional research, service, and collaboration with appropriate colleagues and organizations.

Job Summary
Note: This is an On-Call position that is not eligible for benefits.
Being an on-call employee means that your work schedule is not guaranteed, hours worked could range from 0 - 40 hours a week, depending on office needs. All hours worked are subject to Department of Retirement Services and Affordable Care Act reporting requirements. The On-Call Building Inspector I position is responsible for inspecting construction of new industrial, commercial, multifamily, and single-family buildings, and remodel work to existing structures, to ensure compliance with approved plans, laws, codes, and regulations, thereby ensuring minimum standards for fire and life/safety codes, structural integrity, and public welfare.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Inspect buildings and structures to ensure compliance with laws, codes, and regulations relating to building construction, mechanical systems, plumbing systems, state energy code requirements, local zoning requirements, and job site erosion control.
- Investigate compliance complaints and, if necessary, mediate a resolution.
Essential Functions: Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. This is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed by incumbents of this class; employees may be assigned duties which are not listed below; reasonable accommodations will be made as required. - Conducts site inspections of new and old commercial and residential buildings and structures to ensure compliance with approved plans and codes, notes violations. Approved plans will be reviewed, are posted on the construction site, and are reviewed by the inspector to see that they are properly implemented. Reinspects to ensure all noted violations have been corrected. The incumbent has the authority to stop work on a construction site if code violations are not corrected and makes the final approval of a structure prior to occupancy.
- Plans and schedules routes in order to ensure the most efficient use of time.
- Answers questions and provides technical advice related to building and structure code compliance.
- Investigates and responds to complaints regarding code compliance; informs individual making the complaint if a violation occurred and, if so, what corrective action has been taken.
- Logs daily inspections and prepares inspection reports.
- Reads special inspection reports for compliance and files reports.
- Inspects sites for grading and soil excavation or other land modifications. Makes a visual survey of the construction site to determine if a licensed survey is to be required for setback verification.
- Responds to public and contractor inquiries concerning interpretation of the National Electrical and related codes, construction problems, and City administrative procedures. This requires clear, concise, oral and written communication skills.
- Monitors construction to see that it is completed before occupancy of the building, the permit expires, or sees that the permit is renewed in a timely fashion.
- Maintains adequate records to assure proper documentation of inspections.
- Inspects nonstructural problems with building sites, such as surface water problems and inadequate access, and assures that they are corrected or referred to the appropriate City department.
- Position requires daily use of computer. Incumbent must have, or be able to learn, basic keyboard and computer skills.
- Performs daily inspections of vehicles to include checking tires and lights and determining if service is necessary.
- Fosters a positive and supportive work environment; promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the workplace, contributing to an environment of respectful living and working in a multicultural society.
- Attends staff meetings to discuss Building Department and City issues and to discuss changes in policy and codes.
- The incumbent is expected to perform as an emergency worker in the event of a disaster.

- Knowledge of local, state, and regional/international building codes.

This will require attendance at college-level courses and/or trade seminars as they become available, provided they are necessary to achieve objectives.

The position is driving to or being at construction sites a majority of the time. Potential hazards at construction sites might include falling objects, loose footing, and construction equipment. The incumbent is expected to perform as an emergency worker in the event of a disaster.
Positions in this class typically involve indoor and outdoor work in extreme variable temperature and atmospheric conditions. Job Summary
The Scheller College of Business at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia seeks applications to fill two Postdoctoral Fellow research positions in Finance. The selected candidate will closely collaborate with the finance area faculty at Scheller and can also be affiliated with Financial Services Innovation Lab and Quantitative and Computational Finance program at Georgia Tech.
The postdoc is expected to begin in January 2026, with start dates as late as August 1, 2026 also being considered. The initial appointment is for one year and may be renewed depending on mutual consent, satisfactory performance, and the availability of resources.
The selected candidates may also be able to get access to some proprietary datasets from the credit bureau as part of the research collaboration subject to appropriate approvals from the credit bureau and Georgia Tech.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Teaching one course at the undergraduate level per year.
- Advance several research projects from conceptualization through publication.
- Conduct research independently and in collaboration with faculty in the finance area at Scheller.

About the Role
We are seeking an entry-level Program Associate to provide administrative and logistical support for health program activities. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals interested in program management and health equity. You will gain hands-on experience in event coordination, research projects, and cross-sector partnerships.
You will work closely with the Senior Health Program Manager and Programs Director to implement initiatives such as the Cancer Caregiving Collaborative and Caregiver Inclusion Value Initiative, as well as other projects that advance NAC’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination:
- Assist in developing and tracking project workplans, timelines, and performance measures to meet project goals and deliverables.
- Coordinate planning and execution of partner engagements, meetings, events, and hybrid activities.
- Assess program progress and translate key learnings into clear and engaging reports and presentations. Conduct research and analyze data to inform team and program decisions.
- Work alongside Senior Health Manager and Programs Director to ensure that project aligns with organizational priorities.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and tools used in program coordination and implementation.
- Help strengthen the project’s structure and practices to promote health equity and ensure decision-making processes center caregivers.
Partnership Support:
- Maintain and update partnership assets (presentation decks, newsletters, one-sheets, project webpages).
- Prepare materials for external meetings and presentations in collaboration with Communications and Events teams.
Communication and Outreach:
- Develop content for internal and external audiences, including partners and funders.

Funder Reporting and Grant Compliance:
- Support data collection and documentation for funder reports as assigned.
- Maintain accurate records that contribute to grant compliance and reporting requirements.

Knowledge & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, health policy, or related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in project coordination, program support, or administrative roles within public health, healthcare, or mission-driven organizations.

- Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and follow through with multiple tasks while maintaining outstanding attention to detail.

Position description
The mission of the Center for Global Public Health (CGPH) is to advance health equity through interdisciplinary research, education, and strategic partnerships. CGPH works to support and administer academic programs that contribute to this mission, addressing pressing global health challenges and, with faculty across campus and at the School of Public Health (SPH), particularly advancing the global public health research agenda.
The CGPH fosters collaboration across sectors and borders, supporting numerous education-focused programs for UCB students that enhance faculty research and other initiatives aimed at translating evidence into action, particularly for under-resourced and historically marginalized populations.
The Academic Coordinator will have primary responsibility for the administration and coordination of CGPH initiatives, working closely with the faculty directors and executive director to manage, plan, and advance global health training efforts, research grant writing, event planning, and communication initiatives. This position is for an individual interested in the intersection of global public health research and education, academic administration, and grants management.
Reporting to the CGPH Faculty Director and Executive Director, the Academic Coordinator's responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the growth and implementation of global health education/training programs -in particular, the CGPH summer research fellowship program, the UCB Global Public Health and Equity Certificate program, and Program Events/Activities supporting the curriculum/training development of students in these two programs.
- Grant writing and proposal development: Monitor both solicited and unsolicited calls for research proposals and grant applications from a variety of funding sources (e.g., federal, state, foundations, corporate, HNWI). Coordinate with SPH, CGPH faculty/affiliates, and other UC networks to circulate and respond toopportunities. Support fundraising strategies and activities to cultivate relationships with potential donors and philanthropic initiatives.
- Collaborating with CGPH faculty to synthesize global public health research through the CGPH website and newsletter. Maintain the CGPH website with current and relevant content, including faculty profiles, event information, research highlights, and program details. Provide logistical and planning support for events (e.g., seminars, meetings, workshops, dinners) that align with CGPH's strategic areas.
- Duties will include involvement in a range of complex, multifaceted problems that require both administrative acumen and subject matter expertise, with key collaborators on logistical and operational program issues.
- Synthesize complex, evolving global health data and pedagogical frameworks to design responsive academic programming and student engagement opportunities.
- Crafting interdisciplinary initiatives that align regional priorities with global health goals that require innovative thinking, cultural fluency, and system-level insight.
