Basic Job Functions: The role of the Automation Technician is to work with the Maintenance and Production teams to maximize the safety of and to maintain and optimize the processes.

The Automation Controls Engineer is integral to the design, commissioning, and continued support of automated assembly and test equipment. Responsibilities:

New equipment developed on-site:
- Be on the forefront of new machine designs, working closely with the mechanical and other engineering teams to develop the controls systems that will bring the machines to life.
- Develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
- Create electrical control panel schematics and layouts following applicable codes and guidelines such as NFPA79 and NEC using CAD, ensuring the design meets all safety requirements.
- Conceptualize, write, and deploy software on Allen-Bradley CompactLogix PLCs using ladder logic following company standards for code cleanliness, reusability, and documentation.
- Design and deploy aesthetically pleasing and intuitive HMI screens following company standards.
- Integrate and program all components required for machine operation such as robots, servo drives, vision systems, conveyor systems, and pneumatic solenoid valves.
- Manage electrical design changes and updates during the build phase, including the layout of field wiring and pneumatic components.
New equipment developed using outside resources:
- Work with vendors on the electrical design and review phases of projects to ensure conformance to applicable company standards.

- 80% Capstone Logistics is currently seeking Travel Maintenance Technicians.
This crucial role handles performing maintenance activities that ensure smooth and efficient operation for our partners in a material handling facility.
The work environment is fast paced, requiring routine interaction with other employees.
Ideal candidates must be available to work any of the shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) in our 24/7 operation.
A strong electrical/mechanical background and the ability to pass an assessment are needed.
Responsibilities and Duties • Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment, including batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo-driven equipment, photoelectric devices, transducers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and encoders.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace pneumatic equipment, including diverters, lubricators, hoses, and coils.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace hydraulic equipment, including hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
• Weld equipment such as handrails, conveyor supports, package handling equipment, carts, and grating as defined by the scope of work.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections on plant equipment, including conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: • None ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: RESPONSIBILITIES: • Reassembling machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work • Start machines and see mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
• Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advise supervisors or repair needs.
• Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.
• Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
• Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.
• Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
• Read work orders and specifications to decide machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
• Set up and run machines and adjust controls to regulate operations.
• Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
• Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished.
• Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage, using cranes, hoists, or dollies.
• Collect and discard worn machine parts to maintain machinery and work areas.
• Clean machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment.

* QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: • Associate’s degree in maintenance or equivalent from two-year college or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience of related experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Strong organization skills • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) • Demonstrated attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to solve mechanical problems.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs • Willingness to use a personal phone for work tasks, such as Microsoft Teams, email, pictures, and video.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools is needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to lift and carry up to 81 pounds.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment (concrete floors, changing temperatures) • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including eye and face protection and/or respirator.
