Position Summary: The selected candidate will work in the Separations and Biophysical Assays team within the Analytical Sciences group to assist in the advancement of clients' therapeutics for clinical evaluation and potential commercialisation. The candidate will be responsible for method development (separations), provide routine testing and characterization support to partner groups to help with early candidate selection, process development, and drug substance and drug product process characterization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with biologics including but not limited to proteins, peptides, protein-conjugates, enzymes, biologics with a focus on method development and in-depth characterization. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Primary responsibility is to support the Separations and Biophysics group within Analytical Sciences
  • Be a hands-on presence in the laboratory, supporting biophysical/ biochemical assay development and qualification using HPLC and CE (must have) for various modalities (preferably biologics). LC-MS (high-res) experience is also desirable.
  • Provide routine analytical characterization & testing support to partner groups including Upstream and Downstream PD, Formulations, and Research & Early Development (RED).
  • Document experimental results in the company electronic lab notebook (Benchling), author procedures, and contribute to technical documentation (test methods, development reports).
  • Actively participate in the operational aspects of the laboratory by conducting safety inspections, lab organization, ordering supplies, and performing routine equipment maintenance.
  • Present scientific literature and results from ongoing studies at group meetings and other discussion forums at the company.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field with 6+ years of experience in a Biologics or Pharmaceutical environment.
  • Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field with 4+ years of experience in a Biologics or Pharmaceutical environment.
  • Hands-on experience in the biotechnology industry or academic setting with a broad range of analytical techniques focused on analytical testing and characterization for proteins, peptides, and protein-conjugates is required.
  • Experience with biochemical characterization methods is required:
  • SEC, SCX, RP-HPLC experience is a must (Agilent/Waters/Thermo LC instruments)
  • Capillary Electrophoresis (PA800 or BioPhase8800) based methods (SDS for size separation, glycan profiling)
  • cIEF (Maurice) experience is highly desirable
  • LC-MS (Orbitrap/QToF/QQQ) method development experience also desirable
  • Technical understanding of all aspects of analytical testing, phase appropriate regulatory requirements, method qualifications, and method transfers.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot issues, ideate, and develop insights into technical challenges and propose solutions to solve them.
  • Demonstrates attention-to-detail and "right-the-first time' approach
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information. Be able to present data/ideas to functional and cross-functional teams.

The employee is responsible for receive, test, and separate raw milk. Input test results and milk load data into SAP. Perform all raw CIPs and periodic cleaning in support of department needs, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

Job Summary: Under the direction and expectations of the practice area Section Head, this position provides assistance and administrative support for daily operations and confidential tasks related to client service. Key Responsibilities:

Document Preparation and Filing

  • Produce legal litigation documents from verbal or written instructions, dictation, shorthand notes, rough drafts, forms or other materials.
  • Prepare and assemble initial drafts and processes for attorney review and making edits as necessary.
  • Proofread and correct prepared material for accurate grammar, spelling, punctuation, format, syntax, and content.
  • Assemble final document for distribution (i.e. filing with court, mailing, etc.)
  • Organize and store final documents in document management system (NetDocuments) as well as hard-filing system.
  • As required, generate attorney/client binders, agreements, pleadings, motions, briefs, consent actions, notebooks and other related litigation forms and documents.
  • Arrange for filing and/or e-filing and service of legal documents with government entities, state and federal courts. Knowledge of TN and GA court systems highly preferred.
  • Handle docketing related activities for assigned attorneys.

Calendar Management and Scheduling

  • Generate correspondence to and schedule meetings with clients, court personnel, professional services advisors and other legal professionals related to service to the client.
  • Review attorney calendars daily in order to obtain files and organize documents needed by attorneys in advance of meetings and phone calls; send meeting reminders to notify interested parties via email or phone.
  • Maintain appointment calendars for assigned attorneys to alleviate scheduling conflicts and to inform attorneys of imposed deadlines, upcoming hearings, completion of tasks and timely responses, and client and firm meetings; maintain docket as necessary.


Case Management

  • Coordinate the opening and maintenance of client files in the workflow system; organize, update and maintain client case files making sure all current and original documents are retained in the case file and scanned/saved in the document management system ready for quick access.
  • Retrieve documents and information from files when necessary.
  • Scan and/or photocopy correspondence, documents, and all other case related materials.


Administrative Duties

  • Receive and screen visitors and phone calls.
  • Witness and notarize documents for clients as necessary.
  • Daily sort/scan/save/distribute mail and other deliveries; save signed certified mail receipts in document management system. (Note: documents need to be OCR'd – optical character recognition).
  • Work independently and within the team on special and on-going projects.
  • Request payment/reimbursement for related business expenses including travel, continuing legal education credit (CLE), seminar registrations, court filings, bar and membership fees, marketing expenses, etc.
