Job Summary:
The Yard Operator II has a variety of duties and a broad skill set that makes this position an important part of operational needs. The Yard Operator II requires moderate complex knowledge of scrap grading. The Yard Operator II will assist in several aspects of daily operational needs such as scrap inspection, ferrous and non-ferrous purchasing, mobile equipment operation, and performing general maintenance duties.
The Yard Operator II will be expected to safely operate a material handling crane or loader in order to accomplish daily tasks. They must communicate regularly with the scale, supervisor, other coworkers, and customers about the quality of material and shipping requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Follow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.
2. Work involves a variety of tasks moderately complex in nature, requiring some care to ensure correct procedures are being followed.
3. Ensure that all incoming scrap is scanned for radiation and that all material that fails the scan is quarantined and the appropriate personnel are notified.
4. Operate the loader and/or the material handler to assist in loading and unloading scrap material, while following the quality standards of Gerdau and the customer.
5. Ensure that all incoming scrap inspected against quality, and environmental standards and appropriate deductions and downgrades are applied. Communicate findings with the scale in a timely manner.
6. Inspect and verify scrap for grade and quality. Identify deductions and downgrades.
7. Ensure that all outbound materials meets safety and quality standards.
8. Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care (REC).
9. Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, safety, and/or improper operation of plant equipment or machinery; refer questionable and unusual matters to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clear and orderly fashion.
10. Provide excellent customer service.
11. Promote and practice the core values of Gerdau.
12. Participation in daily safety routine.
Locations with Rail:
1. For Operations that have rail; shift full and empty cars, operate locomotive, activate switches, couple and uncouple cars, and set brakes or wheel blocks as requested, in accordance with standard operating procedures.

1. Assist in monthly inventory counts (where applicable)
2. Assist maintenance personnel in the performance of equipment repairs as required or directed.

Job Summary
The Computer System Validation (CSV) Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring computerized systems used in regulated manufacturing environments meet compliance, validation, and data integrity requirements. This role serves as the Quality reviewer and approver for manufacturing and digital platforms, applying risk-based validation principles to support efficient project execution while maintaining regulatory inspection readiness.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve CSV lifecycle documentation including VMP, URS, FRS, HDS, Risk Assessments, IQ/OQ/PQ, RTM, and Summary Reports.
- Ensure validation strategies align with GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, and ALCOA+ data integrity principles.
- Assess system changes through change control processes, determining GxP impact and validation requirements.
- Support periodic reviews and re-validation of existing computerized systems.
- Act as Quality reviewer/approver for manufacturing and laboratory systems such as:
- MES/EBR platforms (e.g., Werum PAS-X or similar)
- Data historians (e.g., OSIsoft PI or equivalent)
- Advanced analytics tools (e.g., Seeq)
- Empower and other laboratory systems
- Review system configurations related to data acquisition, time stamping, audit trails, access controls, and electronic records/signatures.
- Ensure appropriate segregation between GxP and non-GxP system usage.

About the Role
The DC Warehouse Superintendent will directly supervise the team members responsible for the pick, pack, and ship process on the 2nd shift. Our client is looking for a entry level Project Manager to manage a large quantity waste generator facility.
General Description:
- Coordinates all on/off activities in relation to the storage, transportation and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes and other related services following Federal, state and local regulations
Typical Duties include:
- Segregate, sort and verify packaging for off-site waste shipments in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements
- Perform and document daily equipment inspection prior to use
- Clean/maintain organization and compliance of 180-day Accumulation Area, including sweeping the floor, mopping the floor, labeling drums, checking to ensure drums are closed properly
- Assist Environmental with response to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids and containerizing cleaned up materials for proper disposal
- Assist Project Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick up and waste organ
- Perform monthly SPCC Inspections
- Perform inspections of waste storage areas, and emergency equipment, taking corrective action to eliminate deficiencies identified during the inspection
- Inventory and Inspections of Waste Spill Kits. Refilling Spill Kits when necessary
- Document and inform Resource Manager of any contamination in plant’s recycling and waste containers
- Maintain necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections and other activities as required
- Collect batteries from around the R&D sites, then sort the batteries by DOT designations into proper containers, labeling & dating the containers
- Collect recyclables throughout the plant and transports to disposal container or storage room
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or environmental experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing organization is required
- Positive customer service and social skills
- Previous experience in the hazardous and solid waste industry preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
- Pick up, pack and transport damaged and discarded goods management, and recalled products
- Load, pack and segregate materials and waste products
- Driving a Box Truck, visiting retail customer sites
- Segregating, packing and loading materials and waste products (inventory that is damaged or expired) for safe transportation
- Interacting with customers at each stop
- Prepare DOT shipping documents
- Use of a laptop, printer, handheld, and iPhone to complete tasks
- Conduct projects/jobs according to site specific Federal, State and local regulations and health and safety plans as well as Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Inc., policies and procedures
- Executes Jobs at Clean Harbors customer locations including fortune 500 companies
- Responsible for final preparation and approval of all projects before shipment in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and company policies
- Conducts projects/jobs according to site specific Federal, State, and local regulations and health and safety plans
- Understand customer specific disposal restrictions/special packaging requirements
- Ensures drum count is correct and that drum conditions are shippable in accordance our company’s policies and procedure
- Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
- Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
- Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
- Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s license required
- CDL Class B or Class A
- Strong customer service skills
- The ability to use a laptop, handheld, printer, and iPhone are required
- By position, eligible to obtain a hazmat and tanker endorsement within 90 days, company paid
- Perform physical functions per job requirements
- Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position
- Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous commercial driving experience
- Previous route experience
- Previous manual labor experience
