Mission
The mission of the Project Engineer is to support the project team to facilitate successful project outcomes by coordinating with the client, the field, vendors and subcontractors to ensure projects are built on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Own plan and specification reviews, employ expertise to clear roadblocks for the most efficient field installation.
- Ensure plans and specs, submittals, RFI’s and FCD’s are updated in Procore, and, if plans are also printed, ensure the correct information is available in the Field.

Job Duties:
In addition to the key responsibilities listed, the Project Engineer will execute the following job duties:
- Responsible for knowing each project budget and managing the budget, including but not limited to the accurate use of cost codes.
- Actively participate in developing a successful Project Plan.

As a Project Engineer/Assistant Superintendent, you are a part of the project management team and will have the opportunity to assist in obtaining, evaluating, and coordinating all information needed to construct our projects in accordance with the contract documents. Our Project Engineers/Assistant Superintendents have responsibility for the protection and promotion of the interests of Killian on our projects every day. This role will also verify that the work meets all safety standards, is within schedule requirements, and is constructed to the highest level of quality that meets the budget. This hands-on role will collaborate with project field operations to make sure project information is delivered, understood, and implemented and will spend time both in the office and at the physical construction site.
Responsibilities
SAFETY:
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, ethics, and compliance requirements at all times.
- Assist in the implementation of our site safety program as needed and ensure subcontractor compliance with Killian safety standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
PEOPLE:
- Act as a liaison with architects, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, inspectors, other Killian job staff and owner’s representatives in resolving issues related to plans, specifications and field constraints or discrepancies.
- Attend meetings with other contractors, client, or A/E representatives to coordinate our design and construction efforts.
- Develop reports such as General Conditions Items, labor, safety, change order logs, quality control, status reports, punch lists describing work to be done, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations, etc.
- Support and promote companywide internship programs
QUALITY:
- Develop a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the contract documents (including Killian’s contract, plans, specifications, and applicable codes).
- Participate in the preparation of various studies, recommendations for materials and methods, and cost estimates.
- Assist with submittals and shop drawings, assessing conformance to contract specifications. Work to resolve any differences in interpretation.
- Manage drawings and specifications to ensure the most up-to-date versions are being used throughout the project.
- Verify that all our completed work aligns with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
SCHEDULE:
- Assist in scheduling and managing assigned subcontractor trade coordination meetings, look ahead planning meetings and submittal review meetings.
- Be responsible for the supply chain of materials for assigned scopes to ensure they are onsite when needed to execute the work.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date production visuals and site logistics plans.
- Assist with our production tracking process.
COST:
- Assist Project Managers in negotiating change orders, managing information on changes in the work; preparing an independent analysis, as the need arises; acquiring and checking estimates for the changes from subcontractors; acquiring approval of the architect and owner; and resolving any misalignments on project details.

- Assist with specific sections of the overall project budget as assigned.
RISK:
- Prepare a detailed contract items list including all significant items required for the construction of the project. Develop trade scope of work documents for bid packages, major material, and equipment purchases.
- Assist in developing scope of work and executing subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Participate in the close-out process. Prepare final records such as RFI’s, close-out records, warranties, as-builts, operation and maintenance manuals, attic stock, spare parts. Evaluate all information to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Participate in risk management including identification, analysis, response planning and monitoring/controls on a project and demonstrates competency in understanding controls processes for the project to take corrective actions when necessary.

Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $50,000 - $70,000 per year. This range represents what Killian reasonably expects to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will be dependent upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, alignment with market data and internal equity as well as other business and organizational needs.

Role Summary
The Project Engineer (PE) supports the day-to-day execution of mission-critical data center construction by driving documentation, coordination, procurement tracking, and field communication. This role is central to keeping the project moving: managing submittals and RFIs, supporting schedule and cost controls, coordinating owner-furnished equipment (OFCI), and helping push quality, commissioning readiness, and turnover.
The PE works closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent(s), subcontractors, vendors, design partners, commissioning agents, and the client team to ensure work is coordinated, decisions are documented, and the field has what it needs to build safely and correctly.
Typical Project Types

Key Responsibilities
Submittals, RFIs, and Document Control (Primary)
- Lead the submittal and RFI process end-to-end: logging, tracking, routing, follow-up, and closure.
- Ensure submittals align with specs, drawings, basis of design, and approved alternates.
- Maintain clean, current project records: meeting minutes, logs, sketches, bulletins, and correspondence.
- Support drawing management: distribute current plans, manage revisions, and help prevent “building off old sheets.”
Procurement & Owner-Furnished Equipment (OFCI) (Primary)
- Track procurement status for long-lead equipment (electrical/mechanical/controls) and communicate risks early.

Quality Support (Primary)

- Help drive clean build practices consistent with data center standards (critical spaces, dust control, protection of installed work).
- Coordinate specialty testing/inspections documentation and ensure results are captured and filed properly.
Cost, Change Management & Billing Support (Supporting)
- Support change management: pricing requests, documentation, scope narratives, and backup for change events.
- Assist PM with pay application tracking, vendor invoices, and reconciliation support as needed.
- Help maintain clean cost backup and scope clarity to support decision-making.
Commissioning Readiness & Turnover (Primary/Supporting)
- Support commissioning readiness by tracking prerequisites, documentation, and installation closeout.
- Coordinate with PM/field/cx team on turnover requirements (O&M manuals, as-builts, training, test results, spare parts, warranties).
- Help build and audit turnover packages for completeness and accuracy to support transition to Operations.
Safety & Site Standards (Supporting)
- Support the project safety program by reinforcing expectations, reporting hazards, and promoting safe planning and execution.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation. This role is essential to ensure competitive, profitable, and precise project bids that align with company standards and client expectations.
1. Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
2. Conduct quantity take-offs and develop detailed cost breakdowns.
3. Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
4. Evaluate and compare subcontractor bids to ensure completeness and competitiveness.
5. Collaborate with CFO.
6. Develop and maintain cost databases and historical data for benchmarking and budgeting.

Summary
We are seeking a contract Project Manager to lead the end-to-end implementation of Jobvite as our new Applicant Tracking System (ATS), replacing Greenhouse.
This is a high-visibility, fast-moving initiative with limited vendor implementation support. The selected candidate will partner closely with Talent Attraction, HR, IT, and business stakeholders to drive all phases of the rollout.
The ideal candidate is a structured, hands-on implementation leader who thrives in ambiguity, drives accountability across cross-functional teams, and is comfortable owning both strategic planning and detailed execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Leadership & Governance
- Own the overall implementation plan, including scope, milestones, critical path, and success metrics
- Establish project governance (workstream cadence, agendas, decision logs, RAID logs, RACI alignment)
- Provide clear written and verbal status updates to executive stakeholders
- Drive alignment and accountability across HR, IT, security, and business leaders
2. Risk, Issues & Dependency Management
- Proactively identify risks and interdependencies across workstreams
- Maintain a detailed RAID log with mitigation plans and accountable owners
- Escalate blockers with recommended solutions
- Ensure decisions are documented and actioned
3. Integration & Data Model Design
- Partner with HRIS/IT to define and document integrations between Jobvite and:
- HRIS systems
- Background check providers
- Assessment platforms
- Reporting/analytics tools
- SSO and security systems
- Design and implement a scalable parent/child recruiting data structure (requisition hierarchies, job families, campaign vs. requisition models)
- Define governance, ownership, and long-term data quality controls
- Ensure integrations and data architecture support reporting and compliance requirements
4. Configuration, Process Redesign & Documentation
- Coordinate system configuration (workflows, stages, forms, permissions, templates, approvals)
- Map and redesign recruiting processes (current state → future state)
- Develop and maintain version-controlled documentation, including:
- Business requirements
- Functional specifications
- Process maps and SOPs
- Configuration workbooks
- Integration requirements and data flows
- Data migration and cutover plans
5. Training, UAT & Change Management
- Develop training materials (guides, job aids, quick reference materials, short videos)
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT): test scenarios, scripts, defect tracking, and sign-off
- Partner with HR Communications on go-live readiness and adoption strategy
- Ensure end users understand new processes and support channels
6. Execution & Delivery Accountability
- Hold cross-functional teams accountable to timelines and deliverables
- Run focused, outcome-driven project meetings
- Track detailed action items and ensure follow-through
- Maintain a strong focus on go-live readiness and stabilization
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of project management experience
- Proven experience leading HR technology or ATS implementations
