JHM Construction, LLC is seeking an experienced Concrete Estimator to support our commercial and custom residential concrete and masonry work. This role requires strong technical ability, accountability, and sound judgment.
Summary
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate material, labor, and cost estimates for concrete and masonry scopes. This position supports preconstruction efforts and works closely with internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing
- Prepare complete and accurate estimates
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Maintain organized estimate files and documentation
- Support project teams during preconstruction and job transitions
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of concrete and masonry estimating experience
- Commercial and custom residential concrete experience required
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and estimating or takeoff software
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
- Self starter with a take charge mindset

Essential Job Functions:
- Connect with customers, ask about their projects, recommend our products and excite customers about their purchase.

- Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas and ensure it is clean, shoppable and safe.
- Work in cooperation with management and team members to achieve sales goals.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Knowledge of basic math skills.
- Customer service experience.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
- Some positions may require completion of forklift certifications through F&D.
- Where permissible by state law, certification to use heavy equipment requires successful passing of a drug test.
Working Conditions (travel & environment):
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.
Physical/Sensory Requirements:
- Ability exert 30 60 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. Role Description
The Sales Representative/Estimator is a full-time, on-site role located in Sarasota, FL. In this role, you will be responsible for acquiring new clients, providing accurate cost estimates, developing detailed project proposals, and maintaining positive client relationships. Your day-to-day tasks will include consulting with clients to assess their roofing needs, preparing and presenting pricing options, and coordinating with the roofing team to ensure project accuracy and timely completion. Additionally, you will focus on maintaining industry standards and customer satisfaction throughout the sales and estimation process.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service and sales, preferably in a related industry.
- Experience in cost estimation, analysis, and preparing detailed project proposals

- Ability to build rapport with customers over the phone.
- Familiarity with roofing or construction industries is preferred but not mandatory
- Proficiency using technology for documentation, scheduling, and client interactions
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in Sarasota, FL
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the Southwest Florida region
