About the Role
This position is located within our Des Moines, IA office. The Account Executive is responsible for the day to day operational activity and wallet share growth of a portfolio of existing TMC Customers. This role builds relationships at the operational levels in a customer in order to become their trusted advisor while maximizing wallet-share. Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of customers closed by the partner Regional Sales Executive
- Work with operational level contacts to provide value and increase TMC wallet share
- Win additional business whether it be new lanes, modes or shipping locations
- Solve operational problems and ensure all shipping locations are getting the best service possible
- Manage customer account receivables with Billing and AR Teams
- Participate in quarterly business reviews
- Utilize TMC reporting platforms in order to investigate data for trends
- Assist in building annual customer budget
- Manage pricing process and guidelines in order to win additional business
- Update all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and any other necessary tasks that enhance improvement to the success of the client
- Partner with CSS Team to improve and grow customer and carrier commitments
- Communicate daily and weekly information vital to the success of the branch back to the GM concerning challenges, successes, and general information with accounts, people and processes
Qualifications
- Four-year degree, preferably in Transportation and Logistics, and/or relevant experience in transportation or related field
- One year experience in a 3PL environment preferred

QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree preferred but not required
- Knowledge of retaining wall products and related construction materials along with previous experience in sales, merchandising, advertising, or market analysis required
- Basic construction blueprint and site/landscaping layout reading skills required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, able to work without direct supervision; adapt easily to a diverse customer base
- Requires sound decision making and good math skills
- Basic operating knowledge of computers, calculators, and audio/visual equipment. Industry specific software experience a plus!
- Engineering and construction background is considered very helpful
- Position requires travel, a valid driver’s license, and vehicle operating ability with good driving record to maintain insurability.
Physical, mental, and environmental requirements: May need to occasionally lift retaining wall block weighing up to 80 pounds each. Must be able to set up demonstrations and seminars requiring moving and lifting audio/visual equipment and arranging displays with products weighing 10 – 110 pounds. Requires good vision and visual perspective including colors and shapes. Also requires walking, standing, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and grasping physical activities. SHIFT: Monday-Friday, days
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for monitoring the movement of shipments, ensuring timely delivery, and resolving any issues or delays that may arise in transit. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Monitor the movement of shipments throughout the life cycle, including loading, transit, and delivery.
- Track shipments using various software systems and tools, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information at all times.
- Communicate with carriers and drivers to obtain status updates and address any issues or delays.
- Proactively identify potential problems or disruptions in transit and take appropriate action to notify stakeholders and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including carrier sales and customer sales, to ensure seamless coordination and customer satisfaction.
- Provide timely and accurate updates to stakeholders regarding the status of their shipments and estimated times of arrival.
- Document and report any incidents, discrepancies, or non-compliance issues related to shipment tracking and tracing.
- Continuously evaluate and improve tracking processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Expectations:
- Maintain the DX tracking queue keeping all shipment statuses current.
- Maintain the DX tracking queue by documenting a minimum of two tracking updates per shipment per day, once in the AM and once in the PM, with updated location, ETA, and next call back date/time.
- Create and work a modified tracking SOP for designated at risk and high-profile shipments as needed.
- Work a modified tracking SOP by customer where appropriate and approved by management.
- Monitor the track and track Outlook inbox and provide timely updates on stakeholder enquiries with 15 minutes of receipt.
- Collect and submit PODs for shipments at time of completion.
- Collect and submit missing paperwork for completed shipments.
