Space Control Coordinator

Job description:
- Verify and maintain vessel schedule and space related information in the space control platform.
- Optimize all available allocations by strategically planning the vessels in close coordination with Trade, Operations, Logistics, and any other department involved, to maximize the space/weight allocations with full and empty containers.
- Monitor booking activities and cargo materialization to ensure proper planning of the ship; proactively provide clear summary of the review to Trade Management and make suggestions to postpone or adjust bookings in advance.
- Forecast loading figures (cargo and empty equipment) in close cooperation with Trade and Logistics departments, to provide best possible projections for each voyage.
- Coordinate empty container planning with the Equipment Department to optimize full & empty container loading to achieve 100% TEU allocation utilization.
- Calculate and report loading forecast for all US port based on customer & trade knowledge, statistical analysis, and cargo readiness information.
- Support Commercial group and related departments by responding to queries related to space approvals and questions about routing solutions, transit times, and vessel schedules.
- Assist with special projects assigned by management.

Job Description:
L3Harris has an opportunity for a highly skilled Thermal Analyst to join our talented engineering organization. The Thermal Analyst will be a technical leader across multidisciplinary teams of engineers to create the best overall system design including thermal design, analysis, and test of optical systems operating in harsh space and ground environments. The candidate will possess in-depth understanding of aerospace thermal engineering technology and payload architectures for spacecraft sub-systems and instruments. These talents are used to direct and oversee teams who specialize in conductive, convective, and radiative analyses, understanding of heat pipes, radiative heat transfer, and thermal control hardware design (thermal blankets, surface treatments, heater tapes, thermistors) and the interaction with optical structures in order to minimize optical errors, and achieve operational temperatures. The role requires utilizing state of the art custom software in conjunction with Thermal Desktop and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) packages and often mentor other Thermal Analysts in the use of such tools.
Essential Functions:
- System level thermal design & development, payload level integration and test, and risk mitigation for space-based environments
- Perform thermal design and analysis tasks on complex mechanical hardware including precision mechanisms, electro-mechanical devices, aerospace mechanism design, complex electronics packaging, supporting space-based deployable mechanisms, avionics, innovative thermal and ground based systems
- Create and analyze design concepts using thermal analysis software & FEA
- Defines and establishes the technical approach to meet assigned objective
- Directs, coordinates and provides assistance to engineering team in order to meet assigned objectives
- Program support also includes requirements derivation and verification, system architecture development, loads derivation, trade studies, design sensitivity/optimization studies, preliminary and final design analysis, generation of analysis documentation (including presentation materials, and deliverable data packages), and leading system test activities
- Organization of thermal design and analysis as an IPT lead; frequently interfacing directly with customer technical leads and management.
- Prepares reports, formal documentation and presentation materials summarizing analysis results and present results to both external and internal groups, including leadership and customers
- Participates in and present information for Preliminary Design reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR) and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM)

Qualifications:

Job Summary
The College of Sciences (CoS) and the College of Engineering (CoE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia invite applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions in the field of solar-terrestrial science and/or space weather. Applicants will be considered at all ranks, though there is a particular focus on the Assistant and Associate ranks. Areas of interest include but are not limited to the Earth's ionosphere and magnetosphere, space weather forecasting and resilience. Applicants with research interests in any or all of sensors and observations from ground or satellite instruments, data analysis and data science, modeling and theoretical research, are all welcome to apply. The position will be supported by the National Science Foundation under the Faculty Development in geoSpace Science program. This unique faculty search is being pursued by a joint effort of two Colleges, enabling candidates across a broad range of backgrounds to apply. As a Delivery Driver, you'll drive a vehicle, delivering around 300-375 Amazon packages per day. You will be a delivery hero in the neighborhoods you serve - delivering hundreds of smiles to customers every day in the form of critical supplies, household goods, toys and so much more. You can expect to work 4-5 days per week (one day on Saturday or Sunday required) and 10 hours each day.
