Overview:
The Visual Brand Merchandiser will be responsible for executing a compelling brand story based on the global visual directive provided to drive brand awareness, meet sales objectives and maximize profitability across both wholesale and retail. This role will manage the maintenance of both store and wholesale environments which promote the VB brand and deliver the ultimate customer experience. They will host all product knowledge, brand and visual merchandising trainings in both wholesale and retail locations. This person will need to have a well-developed understanding of the VB visual presentation standards and strong business acumen, effectively balancing aesthetics with productivity, and be extremely creative as well as an effective communicator and trainer.
The preferred candidate will live in the Chicago, Illinois area.
Responsibilities:
Visual Merchandising and Brand Excellence:
- This role will be responsible for executing retail and wholesale visual directives, ensuring key products are selected and displayed to maximize business opportunities.
- Responsible for driving consistency, quality and sophistication of the visual merchandising implementation on all product categories within retail and wholesale environments.
- Responsible for implementing all VB visual merchandising standards, product mapping and brand storytelling while promoting nuances in key demographics, crafting the VB story line to drive sales based on weather, location, product exclusives, clientele and environment layout.
- Lead and coordinate scheduling for display installations and brand activations in territory to meet brand exceptions and deadlines.
- Responsible for collaborating with retail and wholesale partners on all brand and product launches, trunk shows and events effectively executing corporate guidelines, product knowledge trainings and signage.
- Responsible for maintaining wholesale and retail environments to VB standards including scent, furniture, fixtures, lighting, plant life, prop layer, etc. and effectively communicating to key partners based on individual location needs.
- Manage visual BOH providing communication on distribution or discard list and organizational needs to ensure ease of access and cleanliness.
- Responsible for developing and managing travel budget, schedule alignment, and communication with retail and wholesale partners.
Training and Communication:
- Train retail stores and wholesale partners on visual merchandising standards, best practices, upkeep, key seasonal brand messages, product knowledge, communication, time + organization, floor set management and adaptation to space/environment based on local business. Hold all teams accountable to these expectations.
- Reasonable for all training documentation and communication from corporate partners.
- Conduct comp explorations and communicate competition across product categories, visual strategies, display and seasonal time cadence.
- Responsible for communicating product take-ways to appropriate cross functional and corporate departments, including sell-thru, assortment wins and misses, and attending key meetings and line passes to impact product and business in territory.
- Craft impactful relationships with area managers, wholesale partners and brand specialists to support global initiates and align on strategies to drive revenue, standards and trainings.
- Keep a clear line of communication with retails store teams and wholesale partners on any orders, floor set executions and visual display arrivals.
- Attend all visual merchandising meetings to stay up to date on department priorities, initiatives and trends.
- Responsible for reporting all visual and product recaps, and visual impact photos to visual brand managers and corporate wholesale managers in a timely and concise manner.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years' experience leading visual execution in a fast paced, retail or wholesale environment, multi-unit experience ideal.
- Expert knowledge implementing visual merchandising strategies and standards across multiple categories.
- Experience training teams on product knowledge, brand awareness and visual exceptions.
- Ability to travel up to 70% of the time and work a flexible schedule based on visual execution needs, ability to drive is ideal.
- Experience working independently and with a team while handling multiple projects concurrently.
- Capable of independently problem solving in a timing manner.
- High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail, prioritization, organization and time-management skills.
The maximum base salary for this role is $65,000. The relevant salary will vary depending on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, degrees, and certifications. What will I be doing?
As a Visual Merchandise, you will be the creative ambassador for the visual merchandising in your store. You will deliver an inspiring visual proposition for the Primark brand, driving commerciality to enhance the customer experience and maximise sales. Here is how it looks in action:
- Partner with the Visual Merchandising Manager and Store Manager to deliver high visual standards that exceed customer experience and inspire a great store environment
- Reflect the local Primark customer in the latest trends through excellent product presentation, windows, and mannequin styling, while adhering to Primark guidelines
- Review and adapt displays making sure they are commercially successful and relevant to the local customer and refresh with alternative products if key pieces become unavailable
- Champion visual merchandising best practices and principles to create displays that reflect the latest trends and influence the customer journey
- Utilize knowledge of stock and availability to support customer queries and provide excellent customer service and style advice
- Provide consultation and advice to colleagues to support the visual proposition throughout the store
- Launch all new campaigns across the store, effectively, adhering to store guidelines and utilizing input for your line manager
- Support with management meeting and colleague team huddles, providing regular updates on key visual trends, campaigns, and upcoming visual merchandising activities for the week
- Maintain all pricing tickets, pictures and poster POS are in line with company POS guidelines

- Coordinate with Regional Visual Merchandising Manager in determining specific visual needs such as fixtures, lighting, photos, signage, and pricing concepts, point of sale, and execution of critical marketing campaigns.
- Implement the company’s visual merchandising directives throughout the stores, but not limited to specialty concept with specific vendor compliance.
- Communicate with Store Manager and District Manager regarding each store visual merchandising successes and opportunities.
- Must provide daily and concise follow-through on all areas of merchandising via email.
- Must provide in the moment training to motivate and coach store teams about visual merchandising standards and maintenance.

Teacher for the Visually Impaired Qualifications:
- Education & Credentials: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Education Specialist credential in Visual Impairment.
- Specialized Skills: Each candidate demonstrates the use of common specialized media devices such as closed circuit television, tape recorder, word processors with large print displays, Braille, or voice output capabilities, electronic note takers adaptive materials such as a talking calculator and tactile graphics, understands the psychological, sociological and vocational implications of visual impairment. In addition, each candidate demonstrates knowledge of the vocational implications resulting from attitudes toward visual impairment.
- Certifications: First Aid and CPR Certification within six months of employment. DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance required. Pro-Act, CPI, and/or additional CPR certifications are helpful.

The Director - Visual and Merchandising Presentation executes the brand’s merchandise presentation strategy to maximize sales, optimize inventory turnover, and improve store labor efficiency. Responsibilities
Visual & Merchandise Presentation
- Lead the Visual Innovation Lab, serving as the primary architect for physical brand storytelling. Orchestrate the development of immersive product presentations that bridge the gap between creative vision and in-store execution for all retail locations.
- Direct the end-to-end visual merchandising strategy to maximize top-line sales and margin performance, leveraging data-driven presentation standards to optimize inventory productivity and operational efficiency.
- Manage the creation and maintenance of store planograms for all store formats, overseeing new and existing product merchandising and presentation direction
- Ensure accurate execution of new product introduction and product exit strategies through creation of merchandising direction, including strategic placement of product and supportive presentation elements
- Direct the development and implementation of visual merchandising standards to drive brand consistency. Establish high-performance benchmarks that balance premium brand aesthetics with strategic space optimization to maximize square-footage productivity.
- Develop, test, launch, and refine new initiatives to drive store engagement and profitability
- Build and sustain key relationships with executive leadership teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout all levels of the organization to drive alignment and understand their strategic business initiatives to support with visual merchandise presentation
- Be the conduit between Merchandising, Marketing, and Digital to ensure a frictionless omni customer experience
- Oversee the capital investment strategy for fixture innovation to support future seasonal sets and long-term retail evolution.
- Responsible for planning and forecasting expense budgets associated with everyday product presentation, as well as any new fixtures needed for future sets
- Maintain a current and thorough understanding of best-in-class practices and trends in visual merchandising, presentation, and décor
- Collaborate with store floor planning and real estate on refinement of layouts of merchandising aspects of new stores and remodels
- Proactively identify operational improvements and work to formulate, propose, influence, and implement necessary changes

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Microsoft Office Suite; including PowerPoint and Outlook
- 10+ years of retail leadership experience
- Experience in customer experience design and visual merchandising development
- Proven ability to influence change across the organization by developing collaborative relationships with others, anticipate barriers to progress and proactively reroute, and build a brand through a culture of service and operational excellence
- Strong leader with strategic business management skills, who can appropriately shift between tactical and strategic perspectives
- Results oriented, comfortable with ambiguity and possess versatile communication styles
- Ability to manage, engage, and develop a diverse team, working collaboratively with business partners and customers, sharing ideas and developing plans in line with the company mission and merchandise strategy

High School Teachers hold the primary responsibility for the implementation and development of Uncommon’s curriculum and the success of its students. Visual Arts:
We are seeking a high school Visual Arts Teacher to lead basic, intermediate, and advanced art courses for teenage students. This role will oversee instruction across multiple fine art disciplines, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and mixed media, with opportunities for students to develop a cohesive portfolio of work over time. Courses will balance technical skill-building, creative expression, and critical analysis, while integrating art history, contemporary art practices, and visual literacy.
Responsibilities
Instruction:
You’ll teach Visual Arts content across multiple fine art mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and mixed media, with opportunities for advanced exploration and specialization.
You’ll design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that build technical skills, artistic voice, and creative risk-taking.
You’ll design coursework that supports portfolio development and prepares students for advanced study, exhibitions, or postsecondary pathways in the arts.
You’ll integrate art history, cultural context, and contemporary artists into instruction to strengthen critical thinking and visual analysis skills.

You’ll engage in practice-based professional development, mentorship, coaching, and reflective practice to continuously improve instruction.

Required Experience
- A demonstrated interest in impacting K–12 students in urban schools and communities (1–2 years experience preferred).
- Academic expertise in early childhood education.
- Prior to the start of employment, you must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Compensation for this role is between $56,000 to $77,000. Most candidates who meet job description requirements will receive an offer of $56,000 - $60,000.
Starting pay is determined using various factors including but not limited to relevant professional development, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools.
