Position Summary
The Lab Analyst performs duties in alignment with requirements set forth by the Oregon Health Authority and Environmental Protection Agency to protect public health and the environment through effective water quality testing and analysis. Perform laboratory analytical tests and provide technical support and information to City personnel on water, wastewater, storm water, and related environmental programs. These tasks are illustrative only and may include other related duties.

Essential Duties
Performs laboratory analytical tests on wastewater and drinking water to ensure that the wastewater and drinking water comply with City, State and Federal requirements and policies. Enters data in the laboratory information management system database.
Follows established procedures to meet regulatory requirements. Reviews standard operating procedures for conducting laboratory sampling, testing, and other documents as needed.
Evaluates and review document data; provides information, conclusions, and recommendations to staff as requested. Participates in treatment plant sampling and testing for process control.
Maintains knowledge base to communicate and ensure laboratory compliance with all applicable regulations.
Maintains all laboratory equipment calibrations.
Conforms with all safety rules and practices, and performs work in a safe manner. Maintains job-site safety and minimizes hazardous conditions.

Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience
Two-year Sciences Degree required. Bachelor of Science Degree with emphasis in microbiology, chemistry, biology or environmental sciences preferred.
Two years of job-related experience in chemistry, microbiology, or a related laboratory science field. Experience must include operating knowledge of lab equipment and instruments, and an understanding of basic chemistry and microbiology.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and understanding of how to perform microbiological and chemical sampling and testing of potable water and wastewater systems, Including, but not limited to water distribution, BOD, TSS, ammonia, COD, MPN, and conductivity testing.
Thorough understanding of complex chemical and biological reactions and modifications of these reactions.
Knowledge and understanding of a body of regulations, procedures and methods.
Ability to draw conclusions and develop recommendations from test data and to develop analytical programs and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory agency requirements.

About the position:
The Quality Lab Sensory Analyst position at Givaudan involves evaluating flavoring products and incoming ingredients through sensory evaluations and basic physical-chemical. Under general supervision, the analyst will identify and document non-conforming products, applying simple corrections as necessary. The role requires performing basic equipment calibrations and supporting various laboratory functions as directed. The analyst will enter test results into the computer system, SAP, leading to either approval or rejection of products based on the evaluations conducted. In addition to the core responsibilities, the analyst will support miscellaneous lab functions, which may include pre-shipment sample processing, filing retain samples, maintaining lab supplies, and disposing of liquid hazardous waste.
The role also involves identifying out-of-specification results and applying simple corrections, as well as documenting and communicating non-conformances to higher-level quality personnel and operations as needed. The analyst will analyze and collect data for investigations and must work in accordance with all relevant requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), American Institute of Baking (AIB), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and internal safety guidelines. Participation in site training sessions and improvement projects related to quality, food safety, safety, problem-solving, lean manufacturing, and 5S is also expected. The position requires excellent attendance, flexibility, enthusiasm, and a positive approach to teamwork.
Responsibilities:

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position The Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist performs phlebotomy and specimen collection. General Summary:
The Product Manager is responsible for managing the full product development and sourcing lifecycle for assigned product categories from concept to production.This role partners with key cross-functional teams – Design, Merchandising, and Technical to translate product concepts into commercially viable product while managing vendor strategy, cost negotiations, and production execution.

The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships, driving our marketing campaigns, overseeing the client database, become active in local and regional associations and trade show events, and maintain an active presence at a local and regional level. Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for preparation/sterilization/maintenance of media / solutions / glassware / equipment.
- Responsible for receipt / coordination / distribution of incoming lab testing materials including all test samples.
- Responsible for shipment of test samples to other sites and regulatory agency under strict shipment conditions and requirements.
- Perform routine quality control procedures including environmental monitoring observations.
- This position requires an understanding of the principles underlying the testing procedures used in the areas of assignment. In addition, a basic understanding of the material being evaluated (virus, bacteria, cell line) is also required.
- Enter test results in the appropriate tracking system.
- Crosscheck wet records with information in the tracking system and evaluate test dispositions (satisfactory, unsatisfactory, inconclusive, no test).
- Report to QC Management all unusual, nonroutine occurrences when performing tasks.
- This includes completing the necessary documentation.
- Prepare and qualify test reagents/supplies/solutions/media.
- Participate in the creation/revision of SOPs/test methods/test worksheets for testing performed in the area(s) of assignment.
- With limited guidance, troubleshoot basic and midlevel test methods.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Key Skills;“lab”, “laboratory”,”gmp”.
- Minimum qualification: HS Diploma/GED
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field with no experience, an Associate degree in a related field with 2 or more years of experience, high school diploma or equivalency with at least 5 years relevant experience in a related field.
- Familiarity with basic to moderately complex laboratory techniques and procedures required.
- General knowledge in the areas of biology and chemistry.
- A high level of organization, tact and patience.
- Ability to work independently or in a team atmosphere with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to handle large amounts of detailed work and work on several projects at one time.
- Good mathematics and writing skills.
- Ability to work in a team with people from both inside Quality Control as well as other departments such as Research and Development and Manufacturing.
- Ability to lift and move material (i.e., lifting up to 25 lbs.) manually and through the use of dollies/hand trucks.

Senior Andrologist (California CLS Required) – Fertility Clinic
Job Summary
The Senior Andrologist is responsible for performing and overseeing advanced andrology and reproductive laboratory procedures within a fertility clinic setting. This role supports male fertility evaluation, endocrine testing, and assisted reproductive technologies (ART) by performing semen analyses, sperm preparation, and hormone testing while ensuring compliance with California laboratory regulations.
The Senior Andrologist also supervises andrology laboratory operations, maintains quality control standards, and collaborates closely with reproductive endocrinologists, embryologists, and clinical staff to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Andrology Laboratory Testing
- Perform diagnostic semen analysis according to WHO guidelines and laboratory protocols.
- Conduct advanced sperm function testing including:
- Morphology assessment
- Motility and vitality analysis
- Sperm concentration and total motile count
- DNA fragmentation testing when applicable
- Prepare sperm samples for assisted reproductive technologies (ART) including:
- Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
- In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
- Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
- Process surgical sperm retrieval samples including TESA, PESA, and micro-TESE.
Endocrinology & Hormone Testing
- Perform and oversee reproductive endocrinology testing related to fertility diagnostics.
- Operate immunoassay analyzers including Roche Cobas e411 for hormone testing (e.g., FSH, LH, Estradiol, Progesterone, AMH, Testosterone, hCG, Prolactin).
- Perform linearity verification and calibration verification (CALVER) as required by laboratory validation protocols.
- Conduct and document CAP Proficiency Testing (PT) in compliance with CLIA and CDPH regulations.
- Troubleshoot analyzer performance issues and perform corrective actions as needed.
- Perform routine and scheduled instrument maintenance, calibration checks, and functional verification of the analyzer.
- Monitor assay performance and maintain quality documentation for regulatory inspections.
Sperm Banking & Cryopreservation
- Perform sperm cryopreservation and thawing procedures for fertility preservation and donor banking.
- Maintain specimen tracking and chain-of-custody documentation.
- Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, FDA tissue regulations, and California Department of Public Health (CDPH) requirements.
Laboratory Operations & Quality Management
- Maintain compliance with California Clinical Laboratory licensing regulations.
- Implement and maintain laboratory quality assurance and quality control programs.
- Perform method validation, verification, and instrument performance checks.
- Assist with preparation for CAP, CLIA, and CDPH laboratory inspections.
- Maintain laboratory documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory records.
Leadership & Training
- Supervise and train andrology and laboratory technologists.
- Ensure staff competency and continuing education compliance.
- Assist in development and updates of laboratory SOPs.
- Participate in laboratory audits and regulatory readiness activities.
Clinical Collaboration
- Work closely with reproductive endocrinologists, urologists, embryologists, and nursing staff.
- Provide consultation regarding male fertility testing, sperm preparation methods, and endocrine laboratory results.
- Participate in multidisciplinary patient case discussions and treatment planning.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
Licensure
- Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License issued by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
Experience
- 5+ years of laboratory experience, preferably in fertility, andrology, or reproductive medicine laboratories.
- Experience performing semen analysis, sperm preparation for ART, and hormone immunoassay testing.
- Experience operating and troubleshooting Roche Cobas e411 or similar immunoassay analyzers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in IVF or assisted reproductive technology laboratories.
- Familiarity with CAP accreditation standards, CLIA requirements, and CDPH regulations.
- Experience with instrument validation, proficiency testing programs, and regulatory inspections.
