THE POSITION
The Senior Director (SD) is a key member of the MWMC leadership team. They provide strategic human resources leadership and tactical management of talent management, benefits, compensation, and compliance. In addition, the SD will lead union contract management, including contract negotiations, grievance management, and employee relations. The hospital unions include Oregon Nurses Association (ONA) representing the registered nursing staff, and SEIU Local 49 representing other healthcare staff, including CNAs, medical technicians, and hospital service workers. The SD will oversee an HR Coordinator and an employee relations support person, both newly hired. The position reports to the CEO with a dotted line to the VP/Employee & Labor Relations at QHC.

The Opportunity

- Establish relationships with and serve as point of contact for patients.
- Assist in translating medical text and instructions between source and target languages on behalf of the physician or health care providers.
- Clearly communicate the purpose of and services available to non-native-language -speaking patients, family members, and caregivers.
- Work with the patient to coordinate transition into or out of a care setting by following instructions they received from a medical professional. This may include faxing information, obtaining records or test results, arranging transportation, coordinating durable medical equipment (DME), scheduling and confirming appointments, and other patient related duties as designated.
- Practice regular communication with care team members to provide feedback around process improvement of services offered within the community, and to expand knowledge of those services that can better serve the patient and increase effectiveness of the role.
- Remain aware of and develop relationships with community resources and services offered, such as (and not limited to) mental health, housing, food, and employment assistance, and provide information on such services to patients as needed.
- Receive patient requests for assistance and refer patients to appropriate member of the care team for resolution unless can resolve on his/her own and within the scope of the position.
- Maintain documentation of all client encounters in designated software program and complete reporting requirements according to program standards.
- Fully disclose relevant training, experience, and credentials to help patients understand the scope of services the employee is qualified to provide, and refrain from any activity that could be construed as clinical in nature.
Required Experience and Competencies
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Demonstrated oral proficiency in English required.
- Demonstrated competency in Spanish required.
- Strong interest in language services, health sciences, or public health preferred.

About the role:

You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, management of donor adverse events, review of laboratory test results, and donor notification of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute:
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:

- Provide high-level administrative support, including complex calendar management and travel coordination.

- Located one hour drive to Savannah, GA, 4 hours to Atlanta, GA and 2 hours to Jacksonville, FL
- Openings for outpatient Pediatrics and pediatric urgent care (or a mix of both)
- Group also has a Pediatric urgent care office only 10 miles from Savannah, GA (group is expanding in pediatric urgent care as well)
- Can live in Savannah, Richmond Hill, Pooler - excellent schools
- Join a private group of 4 Pediatricians and 1 APP as they continue to grow their Pediatric Urgent Care facilities and their Outpatient clinic.
- Outpatient, no hospital coverage. Well and sick child visit
- Monday Friday 8 am 5 pm
- Urgent care shifts available as group owns an urgent care office near Savannah, GA. Various scheduling options if interested in just covering urgent care
