Position Summary

As Manager, Communications Design, you are managing the production and application of accurate and insightful consumer, cultural relevant, media and market intelligence to contribute to an impactful communications/media plan. With direction from your Associate Director or Director, you take the strategic design imperatives (Strategy On A Page: SOAP) and communications idea and deploy a variety of data and intelligence to identify and prioritize the best communications channels.


In this role, you are leading the preparation of the communications/media plan flowchart via MediaTools or Lumina and ensuring the communications plan is built on solid, data rich fundamentals. Working with partnerships, media publishers/ distributors/ suppliers, and your communications design team, you ensure the accuracy of the inputs required for the development of the media plan flowchart. The manager will develop junior talent and teach media planning fundamentals to internal teams and clients alike.


Responsibilities

  • Create accurate substantiated and detailed media plans and media planning scenarios
  • In charge of timely, accurate delivery of day-to-day requests from the team along with disciplined and organized call-reports and timely follow-throughs
  • Organize and develop client-facing category, culture and competitive tracking documents
  • Work with the Associate Director and Partnerships team to develop the RFP to brief internal partnership's/ SBU team and external partners

  • Responsible for maintaining impactful media plans; oversight of brand media plans, financials, ATBs and billing documentation internally and for the client
  • Leads internal, client and partner agency status calls and updates; organizes and coordinates call-reports and ensures that follow-ups are documented and carried out in a timely manner
  • Digests the client's goals/target and leads compiling planning inputs - competitive reporting, syndicated audience research, landscape trends, campaign learnings

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in an integrated planning role in media, publisher / vendor, or communications discipline

  • Inspect, wash and prepare for shop all equipment returning from rentals.

Job Summary

The Kirkland Parks and Community Services Department is seeking multiple Recreation Leads to support day, evening, and weekend operations at the Kirkland Teen Union Building. This position performs miscellaneous clerical tasks, minor maintenance and cleaning as needs, provides excellent customer service, leads Recreation Attendants in various projects, and engages youth in a variety of settings. The ideal candidate enjoys working with youth (ages range from infants to 17, dependent on program).

Essential Functions

Depending on your work hours, you may perform all or part of the following functions.

  • Engage and role model engaging with teens during drop-in hours in various activities
  • Engage with preschool-aged youth and their caregivers
  • Lead and assist with programs, special events, classes, and activities offered during teen drop-in hours
  • Set up and take down equipment and furniture for programs, events, and drop-in hours
  • Assist with leading Recreation Attendants in various projects, tasks, and programs
  • Prepare and distribute paperwork and supplies to program and event locations.
  • Greet and assist program participants and the public in person and over the phone.
  • Report safety concerns and customer feedback to full-time staff.

Hours of Work

The hours of work listed below are ideal, but open to change, dependent on candidate availability. This role works no more than 17 hours per week. It is expected to begin mid-to-late February. Staff are scheduled a month in advance. The ideal candidate can work one of the following shifts but be flexible with working hour changes (with advanced notice). Hours of work may shift during the summer due to programming.

  • Shift 1 typical work hours: (September - mid-June) Tuesday, Thursday from 2:15PM-8:15PM and occasional Saturdays from 9:00AM - 3:15PM
  • Shift 2 typical work hours: (September - mid-June) Tuesday, Thursday from 9:00AM-2:00PM and Wednesday 9:00AM-12:45PM
  • Shift 3: dependent on facility needs

Additional opportunities for hours may be available during the summer and some weekends for facility rentals and recreation programs but are strictly on-call and aren't guaranteed.

Hours of Work
During the 9 weeks of summer adventures, attendance is extremely necessary for all staff positions. Staff are seasonal positions that support a mandatory staff to camper ratio. Please give us at least a month notice for any requested days off throughout the summer.

Typical day is 7-8 hours per day between 9am - 5pm. Monday - Friday's between, June 29th - August 28th. Work schedule may fluctuate during periods of low attendance and poor weather/air quality days. Training Days and times will be scheduled in the middle of June.

Working Conditions & Physical Activities

  • Performs work in settings indoor and outdoor, including multipurpose rooms, parks, playgrounds, beaches, trails, and recreation sites.
  • Exposure to extended periods of direct sunlight and/or cool and damp weather is possible. Exposure to insects and wildlife is possible when out on a trail in our region. Staff will receive training and other preventative measures upon hire.
  • Walk/Hike 3-5 miles for four days consecutively.
  • The job requires frequent light lifting and carrying (15-20 lbs.) up to five miles, and infrequent heavy lifting of up to 50lbs.
