Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory to include performing analyses; setup, operation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment; and maintaining stock of supplies. Act as the primary administrative support for a school Chair providing office related services including correspondence and report preparation, maintaining files, meeting arrangements and related functions. May be responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Chair and Associate Chairs, Dean, School faculty members and staff, students and visitors. This position typically will advise and counsel.

• Support faculty recruitment by initiating the interview process and serving as the primary point of contact for candidates.
• Manage the faculty annual review process to ensure compliance with institute requirements.
• Interpret and communicate administrative policies; develop and refine internal procedures in alignment with institute guidelines.
• Utilize the PROMOTE system to manage academic promotion, tenure, research faculty promotion, and critical review processes on behalf of the Chair.
• Coordinate unit purchasing activities, including preparing documentation, ordering supplies, and managing vendor relationships.
• Review and approve correspondence, OneUSG, and Workday transactions on behalf of the Chair.
• Certify monthly time reporting for faculty and staff.

• Maintain departmental listservs, phone directories, and file systems.
