Summary:
The Manager Trade Compliance and Logistics ensures the company complies with all applicable import and export laws and regulations while supporting business operations. The initial priority for this role is to evaluate and address the company’s import tariff exposure, ensuring full compliance while minimizing financial and operational impacts.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all import and export laws and regulations (CBP, EAR, OFAC, and other participating government agencies).
- Monitor, interpret and communicate changes in trade regulations as well as assessing their impact on the business (duties, tariffs, trade agreements).
- Lead the process to obtain and maintain the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) Certification for the company.

- Conduct internal audits of import and export transactions and oversight of customs brokers and freight forwarders.
- Screen business partner for integrity and compliance (restricted party and sanctions lists) and perform due diligence checks.
- Support and review the classification of goods for import and export (HTS, ECCN)
- Prepare and maintain documentation required for duty drawback claims.
- Analyze and report logistic costs and import and export data (ACE, AES)
- Support negotiating contracts with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
Requirements:
- The ability to conduct independent research and interpret complex regulations to provide clear, actionable guidance is essential for success in this role.

Reporting to the VP, Brand Integrity, Ethics and Investigations, the Senior Counsel, International Trade Compliance is an experienced compliance lawyer responsible for advancing and managing the Company’s economic sanctions, customs, and export controls compliance programs and enabling compliance with ever-changing and complex global requirements. Such individual is responsible for continually assessing the Company’s sanctions and export compliance risk and in conjunction with other key stakeholders updating, designing and implementing appropriate controls to mitigate such risks.
The individual will have extensive interaction with other members of the Legal Team, the Senior Leadership Team, business teams, as well as with numerous other internal organizations.
Responsibilities
The Senior Counsel, International Trade Compliance is responsible for serving as the internal subject matter expert on applicable global laws and regulations pertaining to economic sanctions, customs and export controls and their impact on the Company’s business (e.g., OFAC, ITAR, and EAR). Such individual is also responsible for developing, enhancing, and implementing the Company’s international trade and export compliance programs and associated procedures to enable compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Such duties will include the following:
- Identify and manage sanctions, customs, and export control compliance issues, escalate and remediate as appropriate;
- Advise the business on sanctions, customs, and export controls compliance, risks, and risk mitigation.
- Conduct sanctions, customs, and export compliance risk assessments and recommend changes to applicable policies and procedures;
- Lead trade and export compliance investigations and manage submissions and disclosures to governmental entities as required;
- Provide oversight to business units highly dependent upon trade, customs or export compliance programs (e.g., ITAR);
- Develop appropriate sanctions, trade and export compliance training for relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor proposed sanctions and export compliance laws and regulations and provide advice to business stakeholders regarding implications and requirements; and,
- Implement robust compliance tools (including policies, procedures, manuals and as appropriate IT solutions), to enhance the Company’s trade and export compliance controls, and otherwise support the Company’s Ethics and Compliance program and initiatives.
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school.
- Member in good standing of the bar of at least one U.S. state.
- A minimum of 5 years focusing on trade, customs and export compliance, sanctions, or related matters.
- A minimum of 7 to 10 years of professional experience assessing/investigating alleged or actual regulatory/legal or ethical concerns.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills, as well as excellent analytical ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal and regulatory concerns to non-legal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.
- Ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams, effectively collaborate, and work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to manage a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Travel

Job Summary
Under general supervision of Account Director, provides technical support and expertise to assigned customer. Conducts telephonic and electronic follow up and closing functions for open work orders on assigned accounts in order to meet the contractual obligations of the client. Intent is to ensure work orders are completed on time. This position will primarily involve handling customer communications on general trades-related work orders (with emphasis on plumbing, lighting, doors, and electrical repairs). Communications include but are not limited to keeping customers informed of work being performed at their location, providing updates to customers, and handling escalations. This position is the main point of contact for designated customers. Capabilities to understand and review quotes and provide recommendations for most effective, timely and cost conscious repairs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform administrative support to include work order management and scheduling, vendor management, purchase order coordination, reporting, and any other such task assigned by supervisors
- Provide technical direction and support to EMCOR Field Organization and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of all general trades-related work orders
- Respond to requests for maintenance and repair of facilities with an emphasis on plumbing, doors, and electrical situations affecting the facilities, etc.
- Maintain effective communications with employees, management, EFO/contractors, and customers as operations are 24/7.
- Assist customer and service providers with invoicing statuses and issues; escalate when appropriate
- Provide accurate reporting on open work orders for supervisor review as requested
- Document all work order related correspondence with customers and EFO/service providers to ensure files and work order history are always up to date and complete
- Will attend all required staff meetings and complete all required safety training
Qualifications
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in general contractor trades maintenance and management or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bi-lingual English-Spanish preferred
- Advanced proficiency in MS Windows Applications, including MS Excel and Word. Must be able to Type min 50 wpm and have good writing skills
- Professional and friendly demeanor, willing to go above and beyond to accomplish the mission
- Ability to work under pressure and make correct decisions with limited input; know when to escalate issues to leadership
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with all functions of the Operations Team and Call Center to carry out objectives of the program
- Ability to think critically and problem solve
