General description

Under general direction, provide culturally competent individual, group, and family therapy in order to: help children and students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally; strengthen families and connect them with the resources they need; and create a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment, in collaboration with educators and other professionals.



Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group and family services - including therapy, treatment coordination, and case management - to children, students, and families served by a variety of SBCEO programs, including students with a history of disciplinary and/or behavioral issues in traditional school environments and students in the juvenile justice center.
  • Make recommendations to school or program staff and families for behavioral health services and placements, as well as referrals to families for accessing and utilizing school and community resources, as appropriate.
  • Provide consultative support and professional expertise to instructional or program staff, service providers, administrators, and families regarding behavioral health, behavioral issues, and substance abuse.
  • Provide crisis support to students and their families, helping students regain academic, social, and emotional success and promoting family stability to enable the student to function more effectively in school and community; provide post-crisis intervention case management, including helping families link to intensive, wrap-around behavioral health services.
  • Participate in the intervention/coordination of services team with other behavioral health professionals serving community school students.
  • Review and approve services provided by other staff for purposes of billing MediCal and other payers.
  • Attend and participate in various in-services, committees, and workshops; develop, implement and conduct in-service training sessions for families and staff.
  • Maintain treatment and case management records, observing all relevant legal regulations related to patient and student confidentiality.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Requirements

A typical way to qualify for this classification would be:


Education: Possession of a qualifying master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.


Experience: Three years of post-licensure experience providing therapy to at-promise (at-risk) youth or families, preferably in a school environment.


Knowledge of:

  • Legal and ethical standards with regard to providing school-based behavioral health services;
  • Psychological diagnostic methods and terminology;
  • Cultural and social factors affecting behavior patterns;
  • Wellness, recovery and resiliency-oriented strategies and supports;
  • Dual recovery/co-occurring disorder treatment, screening and assessment tools;
  • Community needs, resources, and organizations related to behavioral health care;
  • Clinical standards of practice;
  • Treatment modalities and assessment;
  • Behavior management practices;
  • Evidence-based therapy practices;
  • Trauma-informed practices;
  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy and other group and individual counseling techniques;
  • Non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal de-escalation and physical interventions;
  • Challenges facing populations served, such as poverty, behavioral health issues, homelessness, academic failure, disciplinary action, and justice system involvement;
  • Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary;
  • Applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures;

Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish fluently may be required for some positions in this classification.


Licenses and certificates

  • Possession of a valid license as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Professional Clinical Counselor issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners.
  • Ability to obtain ordering, referring, and prescribing privileges from Medi-Cal.
  • Possession of a valid California Driver's License, reliable transportation, and insurance coverage as required by law may be required for some positions in this classification.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certifications may be required for some positions in this classification.


Working conditions

Positions in this classification are considered generally sedentary. Most work is performed while sitting at a desk and usually involves extensive use of computers, telephones, and other office equipment. Strenuous physical activity - such as lifting and carrying heavy objects, crawling, or stooping - is not generally associated with these positions. These positions are not typically exposed to significant safety hazards.

Local travel by car to a variety of locations countywide, in order to attend meetings and provide service to students and families, is required.



Supplemental Information

Classified salary ranges have 26 steps (A-Z). Initial salary placement for new hires is between steps A and J, based on qualifications.

The Driscoll Health System is recruiting an Advanced Practice Provider to join a dynamic team of medical professionals in Pediatric Neurosurgery. The qualified candidate will have completed an approved PA or NP program and must be certified and licensed to practice in the state of Texas (or be able to obtain), a minimum 3 years of operating experience (any surgical specialty) preferred. Pediatric experience is not required, neurosurgery training will be provided. Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides coordinated skilled nursing care to patients of all age groups, in the home.   • Communicates significant findings, problems and changes to Clinical Manager and physician, and documents all findings, communications, and appropriate interventions.
  • Supervises and provides clinical direction to home health aides and LPNs/LVNs to ensure quality and continuity of services provided.
  • Responsible for participating in on-call rotation and emergency call according to agency policy.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Minimum of one or more years of home health, public nursing or acute hospital nursing experience
  • Familiar with Medicare home health regulations, documentation requirements, ICD-10 coding and PPS (Strongly preferred)

Medical Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention

Dedicated Pediatric Hospital affiliated with large academic center and growing healthcare network

Leadership position with real institutional support to advance antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention programs across the children s hospital
Deliver comprehensive inpatient care at the hospital and outpatient ID consultations in our clinics
Lead the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) and oversee Infection Prevention and Control (IP&C) initiatives at the hospital, working in close collaboration with pediatric and infection prevention leadership
Develop and implement evidence-based guidelines, quality improvement projects, and educational initiatives around antimicrobial use and infection prevention
Participate in the education of pediatric residents, NICU and hospitalist fellows, and medical students
Address diverse and rewarding pathology across the Tri-State area (WV, OH, KY) with a balanced clinical load
Pursue academic interests in research, advocacy, quality improvement, or administration, supported by the department
Serve a region with significant infectious diseases needs and make a lasting difference in a medically underserved population
72 bed Pediatric Specialty Hospital including 36 bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care unit, 25 bed general Pediatrics unit, 10 bed Pediatric Intensive Care and Neonatal Therapeutic unit
Fully staffed multi-disciplinary unit which includes pediatric subspecialists, therapists and nursing staff

As a Mental Health Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting studentsโ€™ academic, social, and emotional success. Through individual and group counseling, as well as close collaboration with educators, families, and community partners, you will help create a safe, supportive learning environment that strengthens connections between home and school.


โ€– Responsibilities Include:




  • Providing individual and group counseling sessions to address interpersonal, social, emotional, or family challenges impacting school performance, including crisis intervention when necessary.




  • Conducting comprehensive interviews with students, families, and school personnel to assess social, emotional, and behavioral adjustment to school and community life.




  • Maintaining consistent communication with parents/guardians by informing them of student progress, challenges, and any home-life changes that may influence academic performance.




  • Developing and updating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Positive Behavior Intervention Plans (PBIPs) in compliance with company, school, state, and federal guidelines.




  • Attending and actively participating in IEP team meetings, facilitating when required by the district, and engaging in other team meetings to address student or parent concerns.




  • Collaborating with educators, school staff, and social service agencies to design and implement appropriate support services for students and families.




  • Providing case management for students, including coordinating parent meetings, facilitating emergency transportation requests, supporting disciplinary processes, and liaising with outside therapists.




  • Partnering with teachers, parents/guardians, district personnel, and service providers to identify solutions to academic and behavioral challenges, while building strong relationships and promoting a positive organizational image.




  • Ensuring consistent use of positive teaching strategies by conducting monthly classroom climate observations and monitoring the implementation of IEP and PBIP goals.




  • Guiding and consulting with teachers on classroom scheduling, data system management, and student transition planning to ensure alignment with IEP and program goals.




  • Assessing student progress through ongoing review of data collection systems, and training staff to apply results-driven interventions that address evolving student needs.




  • Modeling best practices for student engagement, effective communication, and problem-solving with staffโ€”reinforcing a data-driven, behavior-analytic, and collaborative approach to maximize outcomes for students and colleagues.




โ€– Qualifications Required:



  • Masterโ€™s degree or higher in educational counseling, therapy, social work or a closely related field of study.
  • Meet all state and district requirements for appropriate licensing and/or credentials.
  • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining one or more of the following credentials:

    • LMHCย  |ย  LPCย  |ย  LCSWย  |ย  SSW


  • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a state special education credential preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training.
  • Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders and/or other related disabilities.
  • Prior experience and/or highly knowledgeable in providing mental health support to children, preferably in an education and/or behavioral health program setting.
  • Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA) including functional behavior assessment (FBA), positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and behavior intervention plans (BIP's).
  • Proven success in developing and implementing effective treatment plans for students with diverse needs at various levels.
  • Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals.
  • Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions.
  • Highly skilled in building relationships with students, parents, teachers and community and/or district partners.
  • Advanced oral and written communication, instruction, curriculum, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision making ability.
  • Well-versed in the use of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.
