What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program or Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program preferred.   • Current BLS Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire. ACLS Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within 6 months of hire.

  • One year of experience in Cath lab, or equivalent clinical experience as part of educational program. OJT with current two years or more of experience may be substituted for completion of Radiology Technologist program, Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program and RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist).
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy & physiology preferred.
  • Able to complete at six months a hemodynamic test and arrhythmia recognition test preferred.

Under the general supervision of the EP Lab Supervisor and the CV Services Director, the EP Technologist in cooperation with the physicians and nursing personnel assists with diagnostic and therapeutic invasive electrophysiology patient procedures, including cardiac device implantation. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of radiographic imaging, 3D cardiac mapping of electrophysiological pathways, patient physiologic monitoring and cardiac arrhythmia recognition and pacing during EP ablation procedures. Complies with principles of sterile techniques. Collects and assembles data for database, outcome analysis and performance improvement. Responsible to carry out any other activities assigned by the supervisor to assure the department runs effectively and efficiently.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate from a Cardiovascular Technology or Radiographic Technology program OR Equivalent combination of education and 2 years clinical experience
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association BLS required upon hire. ACLS Certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • RCES certification preferred
  • 1 year of experience in a cardiovascular environment with competency in arrhythmia and 12-lead electrocardiography interpretation; or equivalent clinical experience as part of education

Job Summary and Qualifications

Cath Lab Technicians are Cardiovascular Technologists who work in our facilities and run tests on heart health. They assist with the insertion of catheters into the heart and are responsible for measuring and administering special fluids.



What you will do in this role:



  • Under the general supervision of the Cath Lab Supervisor and the CV Services Director, the Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist, in cooperation with the physicians and nursing personnel, assists with diagnostic and therapeutic invasive cardiology patient procedures in the catheterization labs.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of radiographic imaging, patient physiologic monitoring and cardiac arrhythmias recognition.
  • Complies with principles of sterile techniques.
  • Collects and assembles data for database, outcome analysis and performance improvement.
  • Responsible for carrying out any other activities assigned by the Cath Lab Supervisor or CV Services Director to ensure the department runs effectively and efficiently.
  • The Cath Lab Tech must participate in the on-call rotation and respond within 30 minutes to the Cath Lab when on call.


What qualifications you will need:



  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program or Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program preferred.
  • Two years of current experience in Cath lab may be substituted for completion of Radiology Technologist program or invasive cardiovascular technologist (CVT) program completion.
  • Current BCLS certification required within 30 days of start date and maintained.
  • ACLS certification required within 6 months of employment.
  • Active RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or RT licensure preferred.
  • If a new Invasive CVT graduate, must attain credential within 1 year of eligibility date.
  • One year of experience in Cath lab, or equivalent clinical experience as part of educational program.
  • OJT with current 10 years or more of experience may be substituted for completion of Radiology Technologist program, Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program and RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist).

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general direction of the Director/Supervisor or designee, performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ordered by a physician. Duties include medical gas administration, aerosol therapy, obtaining and analyzing blood specimens, performing patient testing, operating and maintaining various types of respiratory and cardiopulmonary equipment, assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, providing patient education, monitoring equipment and patient response to therapy.
