Essential Duties
Inspects, installs, connects, maintains, cleans, operates, tests, and repairs all appurtenances associated with the City's wastewater and storm water systems as they relate to residential, commercial and industrial customers. Maintains access to system manholes, taps, and pipelines.
Responds to complaints regarding illicit discharges, plugged sewers, flooding and odors. Assesses and evaluates situation, explains findings to leadworker or supervisor. Contacts business owners and residents in area where services may be interrupted and explains when repairs will be completed.
Maintains stormwater detention facilities, water quality ponds, and urban streams. Performs inspections, riparian area maintenance, vegetation and debris removal, channel management and bank stabilization.
Uses computerized television inspection equipment to analyze and rate facilities for consideration of needed future maintenance.
Incumbents may be assigned primary responsibility for the Vector Control Program. Responds to customer concerns and baits for rats in the sanitary sewer system, and addresses trapping needs for nutria, opossum, and other mammals in the surface water piping system and urban stream areas of Corvallis.
Responds to emergency calls, including after-hours response within required timeframe. Position may involve working overtime and on weekends as needed.
Maintains job-site safety for co-workers and the general public including traffic control and minimization of hazardous conditions.
Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment used in the wastewater and storm water systems.Identifies system needs and assists with planning and scheduling maintenance and repairs.
Maintains wastewater and storm water system operation and maintenance records and reports with the use of various computerized maintenance management systems. Overview

Must be able to climb/operate machinery and various types of farm equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. May sit at a desk for a period of time to answer phone calls or use a keyboard to complete documents and communicate through email. Job Summary
Seasonal Parks Laborers perform general labor tasks as assigned to contribute to the development and maintenance of City public grounds and moorage facility.
Each Laborer works as part of a team to conduct routine maintenance and park development which includes cleaning restrooms, picnic shelters, and other City facilities as well as opening and closing parks daily, addressing customer concerns as they arise, collecting garbage, and picking up litter. Depending on the team of assignment, the Seasonal Laborers perform their work under supervision to maintain park landscaping, turf, sport fields, trees, boardwalks, buildings, equipment, and natural areas undergoing habitat restoration. Please note the specific tasks listed below.
All Laborers positions will operate vehicles, equipment, and a variety of hand and small power tools as required to complete their assigned tasks.
Essential Duties
- Hand mows spaces not accessible by tractor-mowers.
- Trims grass and cuts weeds with an edger or weed eater.
- Raking leaves, spreading sand and soil, installing park benches and cleaning the docks.
- Waters vegetation on City facility grounds.
- Remove debris with mechanical blower.
- Makes garbage runs at City facilities. This includes emptying garbage cans, picking up litter and debris.
- Landscape installation to include planting, weeding and bed maintenance.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with hand equipment and small engine maintenance and repair.
- Set up equipment where necessary.
- Painting and staining as needed.

Overview
Perform in the field service repairs on agricultural equipment. This position covers the agricultural market in the following Southern Iowa. Southern IA counties include, but not limited to: Wapello, Washington, Keokuk and Iowa.
Basic Duties
- Perform in field service and repairs focusing primarily on Terragators, Rogators, Claas Lexion combines, Fendt, Challenger and Massey FergusonTractors and other CAT Ag products.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical and all other systems.
- Focus on establishing and maintaining service-oriented relationships with customers.
- Use computer and parts books to look up certain parts.

What experience should you have?

These techniques include the proper mixing, calculating and applying of a variety of approved herbicides according to product label directions and in accordance with the rules and regulations as set forth by Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), State and County regulations and policies governing the application of herbicides.
Vegetation management activities will also include the operation of mechanical harvesting equipment.
Operates powered and manual equipment relative to vegetation management such as airboats, all-terrain vehicles, midsize tractors, outboard motorboats, aquatic vegetation harvesters (e.g., Truxor® amphibious machine, Conver® harvester, tow boats) chemical spray trucks, backpack sprayers including transporting, loading, and offloading of equipment.
Fills sprayer tanks with water and chemicals, according to formulas.
Mixes herbicides and/or algaecides for application to vegetation or algae.
Connects hoses and nozzles selected according to terrain, distribution pattern requirements, types of infestations, and velocities.
Starts motors and engages machinery, such as sprayer agitators or pumps or portable spray equipment.
Lifts, pushes, and swings nozzles, hoses, and tubes to direct spray over designated areas.
Plans and calculates appropriate herbicide rates and treatment area/volume for a variety of aquatic and terrestrial application scenarios.
Maintains awareness of weather conditions, environmentally sensitive areas, drift potential, obstructions, and herbicide label restrictions when planning and implementing control activities.
Recognizes environmental hazards before applying herbicides.
Operates, maintains, and calibrates spray and safety equipment as required to ensure operating efficiency, using water, gasoline, lubricants, or hand tools.
Inspects and monitors District owned rights of ways, canals, levees, easements and other properties for undesirable vegetation growth and invasive/nuisance plant species, including species identified as priorities for rapid response control.
Prepares and maintains vegetation management reports and daily logs using District data collection software including but not limited to treatment schedules and mapping of planned control activities.
Posts warning signs in treated areas to inform the public of any water use or re-entry restrictions.
Uses a map and/or GPS to identify location and record, reference or retrieve vegetation management data.
When weather conditions do not permit spraying of herbicides, must perform all other duties as assigned.
Maintains plant identification skills for common invasive/nuisance vegetation and ability to identify priority species in field settings.
Ensures adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
Incumbent must have a background and practical work experience in vegetation management, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to plan and manage workloads, enthusiasm and temperament for dealing with harsh wetland field conditions, and willingness and commitment to actively contribute to a collaborative teamwork effort.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Typically has High School Diploma or GED (Required) and 2+ years' experience in the mixing and application of aquatic and terrestrial herbicides, plant identification and alternate methods of aquatic vegetation management practices.
(Required) The hiring range for this position is $51,875.20 to $63,086.40 (based on education and years of relevant work experience).
An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate .
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Maintain a valid Restricted Pesticide Public Applicator License with Aquatic & Right-of-Way category (Recertification is required every 4 years).
If Incumbent does not currently possess a valid pesticide applicator license, the District will allow a period of 3 months from the date of hire to obtain the license.
The District is willing to pay the cost of pesticide applicator training & licensing.
(Required) Ability to obtain & maintain certification in Forklift Operations.
(Recertification every 2 years).
(Required) Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR/AED.
(Recertification every 2 years).
(Required) Ability to obtain & maintain certification in airboat operation.

Position works outside on the water and levees most of the year.

The successful candidate will assist in biological regulations compliance, construction monitoring, and biological surveys within the Texas border region. Position Details and Expectations
