Objective / Purpose:
- As a Senior Computational Chemistry Leader, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of Medicinal Chemists, Computational Chemists, Data Scientist, Structural Biologists, Pharmacologists and Biologists to provide Computational expertise to advance drug discovery projects.
- This role supports small molecule research initiatives across Takeda research sites, leading computational chemistry efforts to drive project progression at both locations.
- Implement and execute innovative computational methodologies and tools such as AI, free energy, and cheminformatics approaches to support drug discovery efforts
Accountabilities:
- Demonstrate expert understanding of computational chemistry principles and their application within a multidisciplinary drug discovery environment.
- Identify, develop, validate, and implement innovative computational approaches that improve research productivity and success.
- Provide crucial technical knowledge and input to project teams to drive decision-making in drug discovery projects.
- Build and develop a strong team of Computational Chemists to high productivity levels.
Education & Competencies:
Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise
- Expertise in a variety of computational tools and methodologies including docking, virtual screening, molecular dynamics, free energy perturbation, homology modeling, quantum mechanics, pharmacophore elucidation, data mining, machine learning, cheminformatics, clustering, similarity & diversity analysis.
- Significant Industry experience contributing as Computational Chemist on drug discovery projects.
- Strong Impact in progressing Discovery Projects from Hits to Clinical Leads
- Extensive knowledge & experience in using a variety of tools for Hit ID
- Provide project teams with computational strategies to inform, influence, and prioritize compound designs for potency/selectivity and improve ADME/Tox endpoints.
- Ability to effectively integrate emerging generative chemistry methods and other modern machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) applications in small molecule drug discovery.
- Proficiency with state-of-the-art Computational Chemistry software.
Leadership
- Identifies, plans and executes novel scientific projects and lead platform initiatives.
- Experience in a supervisory role is strongly preferred.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- PhD degree in a scientific discipline with 7+ years of Industry (pharma/biotech) drug discovery experience required

$153,600.00 - $241,340.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The Chemical Safety Manager will act as the Company’s Chemical Hygiene Officer and be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s chemical safety programs as well as other safety policies and procedures, workplace inspections, regulatory compliance. The Manager will coordinate evaluation of new processes, organize weekly safety meetings, and collaborate with all Operations team members on continuous improvements. This role represents the developer’s interests throughout design, permitting, construction, and close-out. The ideal candidate has strong high-rise/multifamily experience, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to manage complex, high-end projects with precision and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Owner Representation & Project Oversight
- Serve as the primary liaison between ownership, architects, engineers, GC, contractors, and consultants.
- Ensure all work aligns with the owner’s standards, project goals, schedule, and budget.
- Manage day-to-day project activities, tracking progress, milestone completion, and deliverables.
- Provide on-site presence as required to ensure quality assurance and adherence to contract documents.
Project Management
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, phasing, and logistics for a high-rise environment.
- Identify and mitigate risks; escalate issues proactively with solutions.
- Coordinate design reviews and assess constructability, feasibility, and value-engineering options.
Budgeting & Financial Controls
- Manage full project budget, cost tracking, and cash flow forecasting.
- Review and negotiate change orders, contractor invoices, proposals, and pay apps.
- Maintain detailed project financial reporting for ownership.
Contract Administration
- Assist with drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts for GC and major subcontractors.

The Associate Manager, Programmatic is responsible for effectively supervising a team and set of clients with a focus on accuracy, growth, and innovation. This individual will act as a subject matter expert on Programmatic strategy and execution, assuming a client facing role during pre‑sales activity and enterprise level client meetings.
