McCoy’s Building Supply is looking for a Risk Safety Coordinator. A Risk Safety Coordinator is consultant multiple assigned company facilities and plans, directs, and implements organization safety program to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment.
The final candidate can office in our Headquarters location in San Marcos when not traveling or may choose to live in a central area in the markets they support. Relocation assistance will be provided to the final candidate who wishes to move to either area.
This is an in-person Risk position and is not eligible for 100% remote work in order to best support our employees working in our retail and manufacturing facilities.
SUMMARY
Plans, directs, and implements organization safety program to ensure safe and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with McCoy’s internal policies, local, state, and federal laws, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT), etc.
- Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices and fire prevention
- Works with and through store management, executive management and various insurance carriers and other third-party consultants within the risk management industry
- Prepares, studies and analyzes accident causes and hazards. Prepares written reports of findings and recommendations regarding unsafe and potentially dangerous conditions
- Inspects facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventive measures and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented
- Evaluates employee safety behaviors and work practices, works with store management to ensure preventive practices are followed
- Inspects properties such as buildings, yard area and vehicles to evaluate physical conditions, safety practices and hazardous situations
- Provides information such as signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions
- Responds to, investigates and follows post-inspection procedures and post-accident response procedures for company related incidents
- Compiles, drafts and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies
- Prepares and arranges safety exhibits and material for display, promotional work, industry conferences, and exhibitions
- Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs. May conduct informal meetings among various educational and civic groups to promote general safety concepts
- Maintains safety files and records
- Follows standard operating procedures while carrying out the responsibilities of position

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will receive and triage tissue and cytology specimens and provide necessary support functions; assist with frozen sections, bone marrows and fine needles; provides clerical support and maintains equipment.
CORE FUNCTIONS:
1. Receives, accessions and labels specimens and corresponding paperwork, assuring proper identification and specimen integrity. Documents any problems utilizing proper protocol. Performs required computer and clerical functions for all surgical and cytology (as required) specimens. Assists pathologists or pathologist assistants with set-up functions, including printing cassettes. Prepares containers and cassettes for shipment to appropriate processing site, placing in appropriate transport coolers with accompanying paperwork and proper routing slip.
2. Assists with frozen sections by operating a cryostat utilizing correct settings, temperatures, alignments and knife angles to insure optimum sectioning. Accessions, processes, cuts and stains fresh samples for frozen section diagnosis. Places call to appropriate physicians so pathologist may give results. Properly stamps and records all specimens for Turn Around Time documentation process. Transfers tissue to the corresponding cassette and places in formalin for permanent processing. Handles frozen section permanent specimens as directed in #1.
3. Assists with autopsies by ensuring all required supplies (including restocking) are available in morgue. Reviews paperwork and documentation ensuring it is properly completed prior to autopsy. Accessions autopsy case and prepares cassettes and containers.
4. Assists with procedures as directed, i.e. fine needle aspirations, bone marrows, following site procedures and utilizing the skills required for accessioning, labeling and preparing for transport.
5. Provides clerical assistance to include triaging of phone calls to the appropriate pathologist or staff member. Effectively trouble shoots and appropriately documents all problems relating to specimens and Surgical Pathology procedures.
6. Maintains all equipment, staining protocols, slide and block filing systems, retained tissue specimens and other materials removed in surgery. Fills out all maintenance sheets on a routine basis as directed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months previous medical laboratory experience in specimen handling skills.
- Requires good communication, comprehension and typing skills.
- possess a significant understanding and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the Pathology field.
- Evidence of increasing responsibility in personnel interaction and organizational skills required.
- Soft skills include oral/written communication skills, analytical/strategic skills, ability to utilize necessary computer programs including Word and Excel; must possess the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

Position Responsibilities
Prepare for job setup by reviewing work orders, tie-in sheets, operator documents, blueprints, or CATIA plots for production orders, first lots, or tool tryouts.
Review Work Orders (W/O) to confirm the correct type and quantity of materials and tools or fixtures are issued and free from visible defects, updating CMES as necessary.
Identify the type of setup required based on documentation and check machine setups or parts completed by previous operators to assess job progress and ensure safe working conditions.
Select and verify the condition of machine accessories and holding devices (e.g., chucks, vises, templates) and identify any required fixtures or shop aids.
Attach air nozzles or suction devices for vacuum fixtures, securing them with bolts or clamps as specified in the operator setup documents.
Use overhead cranes to load and unload parts and fixtures as required for the machining process.
Upload and download CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) programs to machine controllers using computing equipment from various servers or databases.
Select and check cutting tools according to program specifications, ensuring they are the correct type, length, diameter, and in good condition before installation.
Set machine coordinates or index points per CNC documents, including cutter offsets, tool heights, and probes, using appropriate measuring tools.
Run CNC programs to machine rough and precision cut parts, monitoring machine operations for unusual vibrations, sounds, or warning indicators.
Adjust machine settings (e.g., speeds and feeds) to correct machining issues or prepare the machine for subsequent operations, including head and spindle angles.
Troubleshoot and repair minor controller problems as required, and initiate requests for corrective action when machine malfunctions occur.

Education and Experience Requirements
SkillBridge Structural Mech II- 2 years related structural assembly experience.
SkillBridge Structural Mech III- 4 years related structural assembly experience.
SkillBridge Structural Mech IV - 6 years related structural assembly experience.
- Safely perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures and varied drilling and riveting operations; ensures parts/assembly meet requirements. Safely perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft .
- Rivet structural assemblies and parts using all tools required. to do the job (e.g. portable riveting guns, pneumatic guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets). Must display the ability to remove fasteners without damaging structure .
- Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations, type size and hole pattern for rivets, cut and form plastics and follow standard operating procedures when using adhesives, sealants, and solvents .
- Check all work and ensure a defective free assembly prior to final inspection .
- Maintain and use all logs and records (e.g. MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs) .
- Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners. Utilizing proper tooling, shape and form complex angles and configurations according to blueprint specifications or written/verbal information .
- Make repairs per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Material Review Request (MRR), Production Change Orders (PCO), performs necessary rework to ensure installations meet conformity .
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area, supports the company 5S Program, and complies with all safety regulations. Use personal protective equipment as required.
- Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags .
- Ensure accurate daily job charging to the aircraft .
