Quad in Chalfont, PA is seeking an Ink Jet Operator. The main duty entails overseeing the setup and operation of all Ink Jet equipment associated with Converting press operations. This involves not only conducting routine tasks but also performing basic maintenance and repairs on the Ink Jet equipment. Additionally, the role involves supporting Ink Jet Support Technicians in diagnosing and resolving any issues that may arise. The wage range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00 / hour, based on experience.
As secondary tasks, assisting the press crew with press setup and webbing up the press may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Operate inkjet, digital print, or both. Responsibilities include basic operator maintenance and repair of all Ink Jet-related Converting press equipment and assisting the Ink Jet Support Technicians in troubleshooting/repairing non-routine problems.
* Secondary responsibilities include assisting the press crew with make-ready and re-webbing of the press as required, however, the primary responsibilities must be accomplished before executing secondary responsibilities.

Essential Functions
Executive and Board Support

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Participates in training, embrace concepts of and actively practice the STOP Safety Program fundamentals to aid American Packaging Corporation's efforts to achieve a zero-accident rate.
- Retrieves all necessary set up information/specifications/guidelines and follows instructions on the job jacket.
- Completes all machine changeover/set-up processes minimizing machine downtime and meeting or exceeding set-up standard requirements. Develop set up procedure documentation as required.
- Correctly completes daily production sheets, process condition sheets, waste logs, final release forms, ink paperwork and quality inspection logs. Ensure job order information (size, construction, print position, packing instructions, adhesive structures, proper substrates being used) corresponds with the product being manufactured.
- Safely, efficiently and effectively assists with the assigned production machinery equipment monitoring quality, production and waste adhering to all customer specifications.
- Ensures immediate work area and work areas for which Machine Operator has responsibility are free of clutter and debris. Perform all cleaning/sanitation responsibilities, safely using all required cleaning solutions and protective equipment.
- Removes rolls from rewind, hangs rolls on rewind, makes up doctor blades, preps print carriages, brings correct inks and lacquers to the press, configures ink ratios, disposes of ink, solvents and lacquers, maintains ink viscosities and cuts cores.
- Ability to operate the viscosity control system.
- Ensures all required on-line quality data is properly documented.
- Monitors all quality requirements as outlined by company procedure and specification. Completes necessary sheets for quality checks.
- Actively participates in safety programs and completes required safety observations. Understands and follows plant safety rules.

- 3–5 years of experience in digital design and email development

We can offer the following shift option:
You will work 5 am - 5 pm, Friday-Sunday, with voluntary overtime during the week. If hired, you will train on one of our core shifts (First Shift or Second Shift) until you are ready to be placed on the weekend shift.
Essential Functions of this position include:
* Prepare for Operation - Access job ticket information and set up the offset press machine for the correct substrate, ink, and plate specifications. Communicate job information and additional instructions to support staff to prepare for production. Ensure the machine is adequately stocked with supplies needed for each job.
* Operate Sheetfed Press - Operate assigned equipment within Company safety standards to finish printed products according to customer specifications. Continually monitor supply levels of raw materials and add as needed.
* Perform Quality Checks - Complete quality checklist(s) and perform visual quality checks of the product throughout the printing process to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Perform Maintenance - Observe and monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are needed during the job. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned equipment during shift.
* Perform Line Clearance - Clean assigned area by removing all products from the line, trash, boxes, and other supplies associated with a completed order.
* Troubleshoot.
* Attain and maintain proper ink and water balance.
* Keep an ongoing list of maintenance issues to be addressed during the next scheduled maintenance, one list for all crews.
* Direct crew to specific duties during scheduled maintenance.
* Check and set rollers, and change if necessary.
* Perform needed maintenance during any delay time.
* Monitor and maintain constant ink densities per customer specifications.
* Attend all Operators' meetings.
* Work with urgency, when the press is down, to maintain production requirements.
* Continue learning new and improved processes to achieve increased production.
* Responsible for the ongoing training and development of other Pressroom personnel.
* Assist Supervisors in documenting and improving procedures and processes by offering ideas and suggestions.
* Assist Supervisors in providing feedback for employee evaluations.
* Facilitate teamwork among team members and between shifts.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
* Must have 3+ years of Lead Sheetfed Operator experience - packaging/printing field preferred.
* Experience with Heidelberg XL 106 6-color or K&B Rapida 106 7-color is desired, but other makes will also be considered.
* Must have an understanding of color, and the ability to pass a color test is required.
* Must have strong mechanical skills and aptitude.
* Ability to lift 10-15 pounds continuously, ability to lift to 50 pounds occasionally, stand long hours (12-hour shift), use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement, receive and follow instructions, and use vision to identify defects.
* Ability to work 12-hour shifts, with overtime and holidays as required (OT paid over 40 hours per week).

Quad in Winchester, VA is seeking candidates with mechanical experience to become Press Rolltenders. A Rolltender's primary responsibility is to consistently load rolls of paper onto a printing press. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Understanding standard operating procedures of the department
* Coordinate plates and tickets for upcoming jobs and hang paper according to job tickets.
* Inspect rolls of paper for blemishes or tears and cuts away any damage.
* Set up and make splices, bend and hang plates as well as hang blankets and assist with webbing up press.
* Ensure correct ink is available for job and check ink fountains regularly.
* Set fold during make-readies and check trim sheets to proof and complete necessary roll reports and paperwork accurately.
* Communicate effectively with plate room and paper warehouse and coordinate changing of ink, etch, and silicone totes as needed.
* Wash up the press and assist with preventative maintenance.
Qualifications
* Candidates with previous jogger/entry level experience a plus
* Strong mechanical abilities and previous knowledge of presses and roll stands are a plus.
* Ability to perform basic math calculations are essential.
* Good verbal and written comprehension skills are a must.
* Must be able to thrive in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision.
* This position also requires the ability to bend and lift 10-20 pounds continuously, ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally, stand long hours, use hands and wrists continuously and use vision in order to identify defects, performing repetitious tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere with or without a reasonable accommodation.

About the Role
As an Offset Second Press Operator, you’ll play a critical role in delivering exceptional print quality, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining a safe, efficient work environment. Working closely with the First Press Operator, you’ll assist with press make-readies, equipment operation, and quality control while providing leadership and guidance to the press crew. This position is key to achieving productivity, quality, and safety goals.
What You’ll Do
- Follow all standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
- Verify job specifications, including paper size, color, ink, and other details.
- Monitor color and registration accuracy with demonstrated proficiency.
- Inspect printed sheets and make adjustments to correct spacing, ink distribution, and other quality issues.
- Assist in plate changes and press adjustments as needed.
- Re-thread paper and adjust tension rollers when web breaks occur.
- Provide training, direction, and support to junior crew members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
- Contribute ideas for process improvements and collaborate with supervisors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work irregular schedules, including rotating day/night shifts.
- Ability to maintain close attention to detail for extended periods.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

- Physical requirements:

Preferred Experience
- 2-3 years of previous experience operating offset presses.
- Experience with Harris, Heidelberg, Goss, and/or Manroland Offset Presses is preferred, but we will consider all candidates with press experience.
- Strong understanding of press operations and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret job orders and follow detailed instructions.
- Basic math skills related to press operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills for issues like tension, ink distribution, and web breaks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead and mentor team members.
