Job Responsibilities:
- Use soldering irons to attach electronic components with SMT and Thru hole technologies.

- Sets up and operates induction hardening equipment to properly harden and temper and harden our product.
- Possesses and applies knowledge of heat treating processes, temperatures, atmospheres, quenching, soaking times, carburizing cycles and equipment maintenance.
- Assists furnace operators in determining temperatures, times, atmospheres, quenching, carburizing cycles and general heat treat processing of unusual and infrequently run steels and irons.
- Knows types of steel as to the proper heat treat requirements.
- Operates all related equipment efficiently.
- Possesses and applies knowledge of heat treating of tool steels and of tool furnace operation as well equipment related to carbon potential, and furnace temperature checking.
- Ensures part conformance to quality/drawing specifications; able to use instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gages, scales and hardness testing machines/devices to ensure proper hardness and depth of parts.
- Carefully loads and unloads furnaces to avoid improper quenching and cooling of parts remaining in the furnace.
- Performs running maintenance.
- Removes parts from furnace by hand or mechanical means and deposits parts in containers.
- Posts work output results to appropriate records.
- Processes parts through required cleaning or peening operations.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
- Works well with others and communicates effectively.
- Works safely and keeps work are organized and clean

Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance and Operations and supporting the Director and Associate Director, with support for up to three additional faculty, the faculty assistant provides a wide range of complex office administration and support at the Center for Bioethics. The candidate must be flexible with a high level of organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, diplomacy, and a demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities simultaneously.
Executive support for the Center Director and Associate Director:
- Communicates professionally and effectively on behalf of the Center Director and Associate Director to both internal and external parties.
- Manages incoming mail and email, including identifying and tracking time-sensitive or high-priority communications to ensure prompt attention.
- Drafts and edits correspondence for a wide range of audiences, proactively handles scheduling requests, and manages unwanted subscriptions.
- Maintains complex calendars for the Center Director and Associate Director, including scheduling and prioritizing appointments, and coordinating across institutional calendars.

- Coordinates with Harvard security for employee building access, including granting and removing swipe access during onboarding and offboarding.
- Works with the Event Management System (EMS) to reserve office and conference spaces and to develop/revise step-by-step instructions for staff and faculty on room bookings.
- Maintains shared workspaces and meeting rooms to ensure cleanliness, order, and availability of equipment and computer peripherals at each workstation.
- Acts as liaison to facilities and IT regarding routine office repairs and issues, reporting, tracking, and following up on resolution.
Process Development:

Program and Event Support:

Job Responsibilities:
- Use soldering irons to attach electronic components with SMT and Thru hole technologies.
- Interpreting job routers, written instructions, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings for assembly of electronics
- Performing a variety of inspections to ensure assemblies meet/exceed IPC standards
- Performing pass downs with outgoing/incoming shifts
- Modifying, soldering, reworking, repairing assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications, drawings, and work instructions
- Other duties as assigned by Lead or Supervisor
Required Qualifications:
- Will require an onsite soldering assessment to J-STD-001 standards during the interview
- Must have meticulous hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Must be able to work 2nd Shift hours, 2:30pm to 12:00am
- Typically requires 5+ years of electronics assembly and inspection experience with in-process soldering (both through hole and surface mount)
- Must be able to work for extended hours utilizing a microscope to perform inspection and solder touch-ups
- Hand soldering experience is required
- Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Rework/repair, wire attach, and mechanical assembly
- Must be detail oriented and able to multitask
- IPC-610, J-STD-001 and 7711/7721 certification preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule in order to meet production and customer needs
- 10 plus years related experience preferred

Automatic Assembly, Set Up & Operate is responsible for setting up and operating, changeovers, adjusting assembly line to assemble Automotive Timing Chain and Components, following established work standards. The machine operator using statistical quality control methods maintains the quality of all components and the timing chain. Changeovers and adjustments are exacting, but not difficult. - Perform preventive maintenance inspection before the start of each shift as outlined on the Preventive Maintenance Check Sheet. Apply oil or grease to specified areas. Confirm the operability of all detectors.
- The ability to perform a more comprehensive PM on the machines including but not limited to oil changes.
- Basic troubleshooting of chain assembly equipment to understand the alarm messages, identify what this issue is and how to correct the issue.
- The assembly line consists of the following machines/operations: roller link assembly, chain assembly, riveting, pre-stressing, articulation checking, center distance measuring, automatic cutting, and endless operation, washing, final inspection, and packing.
- Adhere to work standards. Responsible for maintaining production schedules, quality control records, chain assembly records, shipping charge numbers, and the traceability records for each charge of chain and referring any unusual problems to the departmental supervisor.
- Prepare test samples for quality control per work standard. Record production and any other data required utilizing various forms as directed.
- Utilize a machine-monitoring system to record downtime.
- Detect faulty operation or defective material and report these and other unusual conditions to the group leader or supervisor.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow standard safety regulations.
- Perform other similar and associated duties as required or directed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
- 2-5 Years of experience running multiple machines and performing preventative maintenance.
