About the Position
The Staff Assistant performs a wide variety of complex clerical, administrative support, and customer service duties in alignment with established City policies and practices to assist and support Public Works Department staff and community members. This position may make recommendations for budgetary decisions, assign work to other administrative staff, assist with policy and procedure development, and administer contracts. Accomplishes tasks independently and handles non-routine responsibilities with minimal amount of supervision. Compiles information and makes recommendations on policies and procedures.

Essential Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Compile information provided by others to develop budgets for multiple divisions, a department, or a fund. May develop some line item amounts or forecast and develop a budget for a workgroup; analyze, and make recommendations to management. Compile and review information provided by others into cash flow statements for a division or department.
- May monitor budget for a work group or division, recommend action to resolve issues or discrepancies. Develop and maintain spreadsheets. Provide backup for accounting and data entry duties. Review work of others, correct financial processing errors.
- Coordinate contract processes, compile bid information and perform cost analysis. Act as Department representative on existing contract requirements. Compile contract reports for submission to managers and project managers, review reports for compliance, and recommend payments. Process change orders, task orders, and award letters as needed. Assess, track and identify key City needs for long-term contracts. May act as liaison to contractors.
- Compose contracts and requests for proposal for tangible goods, technical and professional services and construction projects following City contract specifications and City purchasing procedures. Recommend modifications to accommodate regulatory, legislative, industry or City standards; seek legal advice when appropriate. Organize, maintain, and electronically track all contracts, renewal/expiration dates, and related documents. Provide training on contract requirements including sustainable purchasing goals to project managers.
- May schedule, train, or assign work to other administrative or Casual or Temporary staff. Review work and communicate corrections to employees. May provide input to performance evaluations.
- Respond to community member complaints. Resolve, initiate action, and convey results to community members. Respond to requests from other agencies.
- Assist with various customer service duties such as responding to other department or agency requests, assisting walk-in customers, answering phones, issuing parking permits, bulk water keys, and temporary hydrant meters. Maintain a positive customer service demeanor and deliver service in a respectful and patient manner.
- Research, analyze, write technical, confidential, and complex reports; make written recommendations to manager on department-wide issues. Organize, create, and compose materials sent to the general public that represent official City information.
- Perform routine and non-routine clerical duties such as word processing/typing, clerical review. May assist with clerical training, proofing, editing, and review of clerical work. Assist with the performance of departmental administrative supportduties such as web page maintenance, timesheet processing, receipt and processing of mail, and calendar maintenance.
- Assist with, recommend changes, and compose policies/procedures.
- May assist the department with emergency response efforts by answering phones quickly and efficiently, recording accurate information about the situation, forwarding calls appropriately, and providing an appropriate level of information to callers regarding the status of an event.

- Perform as a member of a team, assisting with development of work group goals and objectives, and contributing to the achievement of goals and objectives. Maintain effective work relationships.

Under direction performs a variety of duties involved in receiving incoming calls for police emergency assistance and dispatching necessary units; performs a variety of general support duties related to dispatch activities including record keeping, typing and filing; and monitors teletype communications.
Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 1 shift per month.
POSITION SNAPSHOT: The Fontana Police Dispatcher is a non-uniformed position. A typical shift is 12-hours which predominantly takes place within the Dispatch Center of the Police Department. You will be a member of a productive team that operates in a fast-paced environment while answering calls from the public and communicating with department personnel in the field via phone, computer, or radio. This communication includes but is not limited to: call taking, working secondary and primary radio channels, collecting and/or passing information to partner jurisdictions, and accurate data-entry. The goal of a Dispatcher is to serve the community through respectful, empathetic communication with a focus on problem solving and maintaining professionalism.
Essential Functions
The incumbent must have the ability to:
- Receive emergency calls from the public requesting police or other emergency service; determine nature and location of emergency, determine priority and dispatch emergency units as necessary and in accordance with established procedures.
- Coordinate emergency calls and relay information and assistance requests involving other public safety agencies.
- Maintain contact with all units on assignment; maintain status and location of police field units.
- Answer non-emergency and maintenance service calls for assistance.
- Perform a variety of record keeping, filing, indexing and other general clerical work; maintain a variety of documents relating to public safety activities; prepare related reports as requested.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily office activities. Additionally the position requires near and far vision in reading correspondence and using the computer, and acute hearing when providing phone and counter service to the public. The need to lift, drag, and push files, paper and documents weighing up to 25 pounds.
Experience and Training Guidelines

Nursing Assistant - Care Partner - Acute Care - Ortho Surgical - full-Time Day Shift
The Care Partner is a support care provider who functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The Care Partner primary focus will be to promote a positive patient experience by partnering with the nurse, physician, healthcare team and other healthcare providers to provide excellence in patient experience; and assist with daily living activities and comfort measures. The Care Partner assists other health care providers with safe, age appropriate and culturally aware care by performing basic patient care functions; i.e. ADL's, ambulation, and vital signs.
The Care Partner may require approved advanced technical training skills may be required i.e. phlebotomy, simple treatments, dressing changes, oral suctioning, and discontinuing Foley catheters. Performing clerical functions such as: retrieval of data, maintaining unit supplies, and transporting supplies/patient medications will be required. The Care Partner must be able to work in a fast-paced environment which requires multi-tasking and effective communication with the Registered Nurse and ancillary team. 1 - Design Phase
a) Work with the design teamdailyto answer questions, monitor the design, and evaluate progress.
b) Participate in design reviews at 30%, 60%, 90%, and final detail design review and IFC documentation.
c) Participate in 3D Model conflict resolution by disciplines.
d) Participate in the analysis of design proposals as part of the Michelin Design Team under the direction of the Michelin Design leader.
e) Conduct analysis and provide weekly reports concerning the proposed technical solutions, costs, staffing plan, completion schedule,permittingplans, and other details provided by each EPC. Evaluate and grade the proposals providing recommendation to Michelin.
f) Provide a risk analysisforthe technical concepts for all systems and equipment.
g) AssistMichelin with change management by evaluating technical solutions, completing estimates, providing a riskanalysisand supporting the procurement manager as needed with information.
2 - Procurement Phase
Review material and construction packages with the EPC company prior to issue. Provide a report concerning the quality of the package and adherence to the contract requirements.
b) Review the top 2 responses to each procurement package. Provide a report concerning the quality of the package and adherence to the contract requirements.
c) Review material and equipment shop drawings after review by the EPC company. Provide a report concerningthe adherenceto the contract requirements.
3 - Construction Phase
a) Participate in pre-construction meetings and provide input and comments to the meeting to add value to the construction process.
b) Planning for construction and authorization to start construction.
c) Validatereadiness of GC and subs for task execution based on preplanning action list.
d).Finalizea workscope and schedule with Site management.
e). Setup safety work expectations with GC and subs
f). Setup QA and task acceptance expectations with GC and subs.

g) Make observations concerning the work methods, equipment, rigging, etc. used on site by the contractor.Record violations of Michelin rules, regulations, goodpractices. Makecorrections asnecessary in the field. Special focus shall be made on fall protection, rigging, Lockout, Tagout, Tryout, Arc flash safety, shock hazard protection, and welding.

i) Track system installation versus major milestones andidentifyconflicts and risks of late milestone completion.
j) Answer RFI's, evaluate Change Orders as delegated by theteamleader. Participate in project reviews withMichelinProject Team.
k) Attend weekly contractormeetingsand weekly Safetymeetings.
4 - Final Completion and Acceptance
a) Evaluate the design documents and make acceptance filesin accordance withMichelin direction.
b) Ensure the contractor develops a punch list and corrects all items in preparation for building acceptance.
c) Inspect the completed areas and record acceptance or non-acceptance on the documents. Drive the contractor to complete the non-accepted items to meet the contract completion dates.
d) Coordinate with Michelin Construction, safety, environmental, and maintenance and includetheir representativesand comments in the final acceptance process and documents.
e) Verify as built drawings. Check all drawings against physical installation. Note items where the as built is not correct and drive the EPC contractor to properly complete theas-builtdrawings.

POSITION SNAPSHOT: The Fontana Police Dispatcher is a non-uniformed position. A typical shift is 12-hours which predominantly takes place within the Dispatch Center of the Police Department. Working Conditions: Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily office activities. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading correspondence and using the computer, and acute hearing is required when providing phone and counter service to the public. Experience and Training Guidelines
A combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. The incumbent must have knowledge of:
Police Dispatcher I
- Modern office equipment including computers and applicable software.
- Modern office procedures, practices, and equipment.
- Correct English usage, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- Methods and techniques for record keeping.
Experience: Dispatcher I - One (1) year of work experience that involves a substantial amount of public contact. One (1) year of telephone and/or dispatch and general clerical experience is desirable.
Education:Dispatcher I - Completion of the twelfth grade, or equivalent.
In addition, advancement from a Police Dispatcher I to a II requires incumbent to demonstrate competence in all phases/duties/responsibilities of the position and have recommendation of a Communications Supervisor.
Licenses/Certifications: Possession of, and continuously throughout employment, a valid California Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent.
Candidates must be able to type at a minimum speed of 40 NET WPM (a typing test will be administered at a later date as part of the recruitment process).

Under general and/or immediate supervision from higher level engineering staff, performs a variety of journey level technical drafting, office and field engineering work; and provides assistance and information to the public. May exercise functional and technical supervision over less experienced technical staff.
Position Snapshot/A Day in the Life: The Engineering Technician II performs routine drafting and technical engineering work in support of municipal infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include assisting with engineering design and planning, providing customer service, and performing technical office and field duties related to updating, maintaining, and analyzing the Public Works and Engineering Department's Geographic Information System (GIS) and utility infrastructure data. This position coordinates and conducts research, field data collection, and condition assessments of infrastructure assets, using GIS, database, and information management tools to support capital planning and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
Engineering Technician II -This is the full journey level in the Engineering Technician series. Employees within this class are distinguished from the Engineering Technician I By the performance of the full range of duties as assigned including the moderately complex duties of drafting, office and field engineering work. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class is flexibly staffed and is normally filled by advancement from the I level, or when filled from the outside, requires previous work experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Incumbent must have the ability to:
- Review and process tract maps, parcel maps, of line adjustments, grants of easement, and street right-of-ways for recordation.
- Verify fulfillment of conditions of approval for new subdivisions; perform on-site inspections to verify survey monuments related to parcel maps and lot line adjustments.
- Prepare and draft technical engineering plans for construction of streets, alleys, storm drains, water lines, and other public improvements.
- Provide public assistance at counter and over the telephone.
- Prepare quantity and cost estimates for engineering projects.
- Maintain a variety of maps and records including tract maps, parcel maps, lot line adjustments, easements, street and address changes.
- Review engineering plans to determine appropriate layout of construction projects.
- Perform on-site inspections to obtain information; determine angles and set grade stakes, hubs, turning points and benchmarks using appropriate surveying techniques; locate and measure boundary lines, right-of-ways, and land grades.
- Make and check mathematical calculations related to surveying, drafting and basic engineering.
- Maintain accurate survey records in the form of field notes and sketches.
- Participate in a variety of engineering design and planning work related to municipal engineering projects.
- Answer questions and provide information to the public concerning engineering activities.
- Assist in development and maintenance of the record keeping and filing systems.
- Prepare, assemble and distribute copies of maps, charts and blueprints.
