Production Engineering at Pinterest is an evolution of our Site Reliability Engineering organization blending a hybrid of systems and software engineering with a focus on scaling, resiliency, reliability, performance, and efficiency. Our organization accomplishes this through building & integrating software, increasing automation, and infusing our knowledge & best practices into our Platform products so we can scale our large distributed systems to keep our customers happy, and our Pinners inspired. The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for the manufacture of parts per plant specifications in an accurate and timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Required (Basic) Qualifications: Must have a minimum of five (5) years' experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills in a manufacturing or operations environment or equivalent education Must have three (3) years' experience setting up CNC lathes and/or mills Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications: Technical degree in manufacturing, machining, or related field Journeyman's Toolmaker Certification Experience with CNC or conversational programming Experience operating a variety of manual machines (lathes, mills, jig bore, grinders etc.) Familiar with Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, TPM, Error Proofing, Standardized Work, Set up Reduction, Continuous Flow, and Pull Experience in Troubleshooting Problems using quality tools such as statistics, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams, etc. PC computer skills (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, etc...) with ability to learn other programs Must be able to understand and interpret blueprints and sketches including proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Must be able to perform basic shop math. Must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

• Perform setups using probes and tool setters, ensuring tools are accurately measured.
• Create subroutine programs and edit existing machine programs.
• Document setups and train team members on proper processes.
• Adhere to ISO Quality Policies and maintain compliance with industry standards.
• Verify that parts meet tolerance and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following company policies.
• Coordinate schedules to meet production timelines.
• Log job details into the Epicor ERP system and maintain accurate records, including part counts and revision checks.
• Communicate effectively across teams to ensure seamless workflow and project completion.
• Demonstrate strong attendance, punctuality, and a proven work history.
• Exhibit self-motivation, proactivity, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Display excellent math skills and attention to detail.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a CNC Setup Machinist
• AA Degree or High School diploma with job experience
