ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Saint Alphonsus Neuroscience Institute is looking for a team-oriented and personable Medical Assistant for our Boise Neurology Clinic!
Position Summary & Highlights:This Medical Assistant position will support a busy Neurologist in a busy and friendly work environment.

As the regional provider of advanced neurological services, Saint Alphonsus neurologists provide care for patients with complex conditions, neurodegenerative disorders, seizures, and general neurological disease.
Neurologic conditions treated include: Stroke Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), Movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease and essential tremors, Neuromuscular dysfunction, Migraine, Multiple sclerosis, Memory conditions, including dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
The Neurology Clinic team works in tandem with our neurosurgical team as well as supporting our neuro-ophthalmologist who is the only one in the state of Idaho!
You will room patients, conduct patient intakes, take vitals, assist with skin biopsies, draw up and give injections, and set up for minor procedures.
You will also perform prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and imaging, complete chart prep, follow up on imaging orders, and other tasks as needed.
You will work in a great positive team environment along side other MAs, RNs, and front office staff.

Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:

Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
