About the Role
The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and production scheduling for the plant. This role will also be responsible for managing the supply chain, including raw material/packaging inventory and customer order fulfillment. This role involves leading the Production team, maintaining compliance, and implementing continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the production floor and production employees.
- Ensure adherence to applicable regulatory and legal requirements (OSHA, FDA, etc) while also ensuring adherence to TCP Analytical policies and procedures (time and attendance, behavior expectations, performance standards).
- Make scheduling and staffing determinations to ensure the on-time and in full completion of customer orders.
- Ensure TCP output and delivery metrics are achieved.
- Initiate corrective actions to reposition unfavorable outcomes.
- Help implement site-wide initiatives with deliverable project ownership of plant drivers including scrap reduction, absorption, capacity improvements and output/throughput improvements.
- Monitor inventory levels of required raw materials, manufacturing supplies, and packaging/shipment supplies.
- Evaluate vendors for procuring required supplies and make decisions to ensure timely receipt while minimizing cost impact to site.
- Initiate Purchase Orders for ordering required manufacturing and packaging supplies as needed.
- Place orders for required manufacturing and packaging supplies as needed to ensure adequate stock of materials are present to prevent production interruption.
- Oversee and perform initial review of all documentation coming from the production area.
- Responsible for correctness and adherence to cGMP requirements and good documentation practices (GDP) from production employees.
- Coach, train, and develop as needed to ensure site compliance in documentation practices.
- Prepare appropriate shipping documents and prepare all products for shipping.
- Coordinate logistics and shipping details with carriers, with a focus on improving on-time delivery, while minimizing logistics costs for the Barker site.
- Communicate with customers on status of orders, scheduling details, and finalization of shipping documents and required items per customer requests.
- Input customer orders into the Chempak ERP system.
- Ensure completeness and correctness of orders being entered.
- Work between leadership, quality, and production teams to ensure realistic and achievable timelines for on-time delivery.
- Support the expansion of EHS programs at the Barker site, including providing leadership to Barker EHS safety team (in development).
- Ensure site audit readiness at all times through the proactive oversight and management of the production and manufacturing areas, including supporting consistent cleaning, organization, and 5S principles for orderly manufacturing operations.
- Provide ownership of deviations and nonconformances resulting from the production area, including leading investigations and inquiries into site identified deviations, supplier corrective action requests, and site initiated corrective action / preventive action (CAPA) tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or science related field.

- Build a qualified supplier pipeline (including international options where appropriate) across priority categories

Skills/Experience Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in sourcing, procurement, and/or purchasing environments supporting product development and commercialization; medical device, medical/clinical expertise, or prior health care experience strongly desired

The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day performance of Ship Essential’s New York warehouse. This role leads the building with urgency, discipline, and a strong floor presence. Operational Accountability
- Take primary ownership of daily warehouse performance, ensuring SLAs are met or exceeded every day.

Key Responsibilities
Document Preparation & Workflow

About the Role Supply Chain Manager:
Reporting to the CEO, the is responsible to Manage, coordinate, plan, and organize strategic sourcing, purchasing, production and inventory planning, receiving, warehousing, control, and distribution of materials to satisfy distribution needs/service relations as required to accomplish these goals.
The Manager of Supply Chain will be tasked with the identification, development, and completion of significant efficiency/optimization projects. This person will be responsible to work cross functionally within SC as well as WH, and cross functional departments and divisions across the entire business using lean principles, total cost analysis, strong project management skills, and a highly developed to identify major cost saving initiatives, ensure cross functional collaboration, timely project completion and the realization of identified savings. - Coordinate logistics for final product delivery, ensuring on-time, damage-free arrivals to construction job sites and other destinations.
- Manage end-to-end customer communication related to shipments, including pre-shipment confirmation of delivery details and site readiness, as well as post-delivery follow-ups to ensure successful receipt and customer satisfaction.
Carrier & Broker Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with freight carriers and brokers to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions.
- Monitor carrier performance, including pickup and delivery compliance, and address any issues proactively.
Communication & Internal Collaboration
- Partner closely with in-house support teams to ensure clear communication of shipment timelines and customer expectations.
- Liaise with the Warehouse Shipping Manager to align daily pickups, deliveries, and shipping priorities.
Tracking, Reporting & Claims
- Track all shipments across multiple channels and ensure visibility for internal teams and customers.
- Manage freight claims and ensure timely resolution of damage/loss issues.
- Maintain organized and accurate records of all shipping and logistics activities.
- Generate regular reports for leadership, including freight cost analysis, margin tracking, and KPI performance.
Process Optimization & Support
- Identify and implement tools or systems to improve freight visibility and communication throughout the sales and shipping process.
- Conduct regular freight cost reviews to identify opportunities for savings and improved margins.
- Support the ongoing development of logistics policies, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Equivalent industry experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in transportation, logistics coordination, dispatching, carrier management, freight operations, or similar roles.
- Prior experience handling shipments to construction job sites or transporting wood/building products strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS); hands-on experience preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service mindset with experience communicating directly with clients about logistics expectations.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, follow-through, and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and other logistics or ERP systems a plus.
