The Systems Architect, Camera and Vision Technologies is responsible for defining and guiding the architecture for camera hardware, vision pipelines, and vision-enabled capabilities deployed on devices and edge platforms. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define and maintain reference architectures, design patterns, and standards for camera hardware, vision pipelines, and edge-based vision processing.
• Establish common approaches for camera integration, image acquisition, preprocessing, inference pipelines, and data management.
• Ensure architectural decisions support real-time operation, scalability, reliability, safety, and security.

• Drive the strategic use of camera and vision technologies to enable safety, productivity, automation, and maintenance use cases.
• Own a portion of the internal technology radar related to cameras, vision sensors, and visual analytics.
• Foster responsible, ethical, and transparent use of vision technologies aligned with privacy, cybersecurity, and safety requirements.

• Partner with product management and engineering teams to enable vision-based capabilities such as event detection, situational awareness, condition monitoring, and automation support.
• Guide architectural decisions related to camera selection, optics, illumination, environmental constraints, and edge compute limitations.
• Promote reuse and consistency of camera and vision components across products and platforms.

• Define patterns for integration between camera and vision technologies, edge AI/ML solutions, device software, hybrid mobile applications, and enterprise or cloud-based platforms.
• Ensure solutions support online, offline, and hybrid deployment models common in industrial environments.
• Promote interoperability with internal systems and approved third-party technologies.

• Define secure-by-design and safety-aligned principles for camera and vision deployment, including data protection and access controls.
• Ensure alignment with applicable safety, quality, and industrial cybersecurity standards.
• Participate in architecture and design reviews to assess risk, resilience, and compliance.

• Collaborate across product management, device and edge software, AI/ML, hardware engineering, manufacturing, service, and mobile application teams.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance related to camera and vision technologies.
• Serve as the technical voice for vision-based capabilities in strategic customer conversations and enterprise implementations when appropriate.

• This role does not have direct reports but is expected to provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across multiple teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Vision, or a related technical field required; Master's degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience delivering camera- or vision-enabled systems, with experience deploying solutions in industrial or edge environments.
• Experience with connected, automated, or safety-critical systems preferred.

• Strong understanding of camera systems, optics, image processing, and computer vision architectures.
• Experience designing vision pipelines that balance performance, latency, accuracy, and environmental constraints.
• Ability to think systemically across cameras, sensors, edge platforms, AI/ML, mobile applications, and cloud services.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading all strategic and operational aspects of Fielmann USA’s insurance division, Fielmann Vision Insurance d/b/a Single Vision Solutions (SVS). Expand participation in SVS insurance plans, develop new insurance products, lead outbound sales strategy, and deliver a superior experience to members, groups/brokers, and providers. Drive growth by developing broker channels, supporting retail store enrollment efforts, and cultivating employer and affiliate partnerships.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

STRATEGIC DIRECTION

• Define and execute the strategic growth plan for Fielmann Vision Insurance, to include increasing plan participation and revenue
• Serve as the key architect of plan design, pricing models, and market positioning to ensure competitive and customer friendly offerings
• Lead product development initiatives, including ancillary programs (e.g., safety eyewear, school grants)
• Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through employer groups, store programs, and external partnerships
• Build and manage a comprehensive broker and agent program, including commission structures, outreach, and onboarding
• Oversee development and distribution of sales collateral, presentations, and standard pricing tools to support sales efforts
• Partner with and support retail leadership to drive in-store enrollment and upsell strategies
• Establish and track enrollment and sales KPIs to guide marketing and outreach initiatives

• Act as primary contact for regulatory compliance and operational audits

LEADERSHIP & FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY

• Lead the team responsible for both member services and business expansion
• Oversee day-to-day operations including claims, billing, enrollment, credentialing, premium invoicing, and provider services
• Ensure all activities align with applicable state and federal regulations, contract requirements, and internal policies
• Lead resolution of member and provider issues related to coverage, eligibility, and benefit interpretation

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

Vision Systems Engineer (AI Specialist)

In this role, you will be the subject matter expert for AI vision platforms, leveraging both 2D and 3D imaging to solve complex inspection challenges. You will work in a fast-paced environment where precision is critical, ensuring every component—from massive structural parts to small identification decals—meets our rigorous quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• System Design & Integration: Architect, program, and deploy vision solutions utilizing AI-driven toolsets for complex defect detection.
• 2D & 3D Implementation: Configure 2D cameras for AI based analysis and 3D lasers for volumetric analysis and defect detection.
• Automated Inspection Tasks:
• Part Location: Develop robust "Search" and "Shape Trailing" logic to locate heavy components on high-volume lines.
• Decal & Placement Verification: Utilize AI learning to verify the presence, orientation, and correct application of decals and labels.
• Cosmetic Defect Detection: Train AI models to distinguish between acceptable surface variations and true cosmetic flaws (scratches, dents, or coating irregularities) on diverse materials.
