Compass Healthcare Consulting & Placement is conducting a search for an experienced Controller for a Corporate Controller position for a healthcare group with Behavioral Health Addiction Center Management, Corporate office located in Queens, NY. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years of experience including both public and private accounting. Experience with Behavioral Health Addiction Centers is preferred. Must have strong knowledge of GAAP and applicable federal, state, local, and regulatory requirements, as well as general ledger and financial statement experience.


CONTROLLER - HEALTHCARE


The Corporate Controller directs the financial affairs of the organization and prepares financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Development, analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
  • Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in the Accounting Department; (Accounting, Billing, A/P and Payroll). Recommends training requirements, and has the duty to keep the staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives.
  • Maintains the Company’s accounting system and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.
  • Controller furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary.
  • Directs and oversees the preparation of monthly financial statements and applicable work papers.
  • Oversees all banking transactions and reviews monthly reconciliation.
  • Responsible for providing effective financial controls for the organization.
  • Reconcile quarterly payroll tax returns to Company books.
  • Coordinate annual audit in conjunction with Company’s independent auditors.
  • Assist the CFO with special projects as needed.
  • Ensure all HIPAA requirements are adhered to.
  • Follows Agency policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting Certified Public Accountant designation and MBA are preferred
  • 5+ years of experience including both public and private accounting
  • 2+ years of experience with a home health agency preferred
  • Proficiency with accounting and spreadsheet software
  • General ledger and financial statement experience.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities

- Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
- Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
- Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
- Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.

- Registered Nurse (RN) will float between CaroMont Health Gastonia or CaroMont Health Belmont location depending on staffing needs.
- Render professional nursing care to a group of assigned patients at assigned hospital.
- Collaborate with the medical staff and other members of the healthcare team to provide quality patient care.
- Perform all activities in accordance with approved policies and guidelines. Supervises and delegates appropriate duties to ancillary personnel.
- Availability: 36 hours per week

Qualifications:

- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license). BSN preferred; professional nursing certification preferred.
- Must have 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience with acute care or telemetry based on unit assignment.
- Registered Nurse (RN) must meet general hospital and departmental competency requirements. Current technical certificates such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), NIH Stroke Scale Certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), STABLE or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) as required by specialty area.
- Registered Nurse (RN) must maintain clinical competency in all specialties required for the position.
