As a Radar Hardware Design Engineer, you will be a part of our Radar Engineering team. The Radar Engineering team is comprised of a small cross-functional team of motivated and experienced engineers; we're responsible for designing, building, and testing cutting-edge phased array radar systems from concept to certified product. We enjoy a culture of sharing information and collaboration. Phased array radar systems have historically been reserved for specialized applications, but we're making this technology affordable to enable Detect and Avoid for widespread commercial applications. This role will focus on new advanced operational modes. The passion for revolutionary technology to make aviation safer motivates us to come in every day.

Responsibilities

In your role as a Radar Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing digital and analog circuits for our next-generation Radar system. You will be involved in all phases of development, from conception to production, tracing system-level requirements through to circuit-level design. You will drive the design and layout of a multi-processor with an FPGA on chip using DDR 4 memory, as well as designing switching and linear power supplies. The high-speed digital design is complemented by high-frequency analog and RF design up to 12GHz. You will own the schematic, layout, artwork generation and bring-up of hardware. You will be collaborating with the cross-functional teams, including mechanical and system engineering. You will be responsible for the certification of your design to DO-160, DO-254 design assurance and FCC certification. You will support radar system integration and testing in the engineering lab and on the aircraft.

Basic Success Criteria

  • Electrical Engineering fundamentals, typically gained through a Bachelor's Degree of Science or Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or a related discipline

  • 5+ years of professional hands-on experience with high-speed digital circuits, linear and switching power regulator circuits, PLL's, VGA, mixers etc.

  • Ability to use Circuit simulators, Altium schematic capture and layout, and SPICE simulation software

  • Ability to troubleshoot, find root cause, and resolve issues

  • Experienced in using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers and Vector Network Analyzers

Preferred Criteria

  • Advanced Degree of Science or Electrical Engineering

  • Experience developing system architectures and managing requirements for certification of Avionics

  • Creative problem solver that can bring multiple disciplines together, with the ability to assess risk and make design and development decisions without all available data

  • Experience integrating and troubleshooting various electronic sensors and components

  • RF circuit design experience up to 12GHz

  • DO-160 and DO-254 hardware design assurance experience

This position will be located at our facility in Mountain View, California.

The Avionics Hardware team is a small group of highly motivated engineers who develop the core compute, actuation, sensing, and power electronics products at the heart of our automation system. As a Sr Avionics Hardware Engineer, you will lead development of electrical components and sub-systems across our airborne and test platforms from the circuit-board level up through integrated systems and everything in between.

Responsibilities

In your role as Sr Avionics Hardware Engineer, you will design, analyze, document, test, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies at the circuit board through integrated electro-mechanical level. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing and test engineers as the expert on your hardware. You will drive improvements to the hardware through benchtop, environmental, and on-aircraft testing, and perform root-cause investigations to characterize, document, and rectify anomalous behavior in a safety-critical environment. Basic Success Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of full-lifecycle hardware development experience in a professional environment

  • Provide expertise and support regarding pricing, quoting, credit terms, orders, and many other sales support and account management functions.
  • Perform business reporting functions, such as, but not limited to, sales reports, account update reports, monthly reports, call reports, expense reports, mileage reports, and other reports as needed.
  • Present, execute, and administer Corporate Sales Programs, including co-op, trade agreements, rebates, strategic initiatives, and promotions, along with other corporate programs as needed.

How You'll Contribute:



The AV Installation and Support Services Technician is responsible for the installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low-voltage cabling systems, including voice, data, and video.



Assigned to Client and works full time from onsite location responsible for Installation and then maintaining the system after installation. Job Summary:



The installation technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of installation duties on technology projects for our clients. This position is the key field position for the bulk of the actual work that gets done in our clients buildings. The install tech needs to coordinate with project management, field superintendents and others to fully understand their role on specific projects. They interpret our drawing packages to create the basis of the finished systems. This installation can include displays, projectors, loudspeakers, microphones, equipment racks, etc. Will also provide advice and guidance to Associate Installation Technicians as necessary.



Primary Duties and Responsibilities:





  • Possess all skills from Associate Install Technician and most skills from the Associate Fabrication Technician job descriptions to install components and make modifications on site as necessary to complete the project

  • Physical installation of a wide variety of technology into a wide variety of locations.

  • Execute a wide variety of cabling terminations for all wire and connector types and ability to test completed terminations.

  • Support the preparation of equipment racks for staging of equipment wire lacing including installation of power strips, grounding bars, jack-fields, etc.

  • Able to read and understand functional design drawings as well as cable riser diagrams and all architectural drawings.

  • Able to assist in the mounting of base build equipment such as monitor mounts, ceiling speakers' microphones and projectors.

  • Provide a consistent level of technical performance as well as flexibility in work schedule. This position requires periodic overtime and may require regular overtime for extended periods to meet fabrication deadlines

  • Able to complete assignments in accordance with or better than established task durations as well as estimate task durations to meet assigned deadlines. Provides daily feedback to Project Manager, or Site Superintendent.

  • Able to build and wire custom designs from engineering drawings.

  • Fiber optic cable handling, installation termination and testing.

  • Can print and make minor corrections to cable labels.

  • Maintain an organized work environment specifically orderliness and cleanliness of the shop and jobsites.

  • Responsible for maintaining their toolkit, company vehicles and installation materials inventories. Keeping things clean, orderly and well documented.

  • Responsible for maintaining their personal licenses, certifications and qualifications. (some states have specific requirement in this area)

  • Maintain daily record of time worked on specific projects for timesheet entry and work performed reports



Complexity:



This level of technician will be responsible for performing tasks on clients job sites with little supervision. On smaller projects this position may be responsible for the coordination with clients, contractors and subcontractors.

This position is often alone on the job sites and requires making good judgement about decisions that need to be made. In general the project manager and a site supervisor are available to answer questions. The Integrated Security Systems Technician (Traveling) provides customer-focused, workplace technology support to clients, field staff, installation partners, and internal team members. Duties may include the overhaul, adjustment, replacement and repair of all series of motor truck and trailer equipment including, but not limited to the following: Cab/ Sheet Metal Repair, Fiberglass Repair, Composite Bonding/ Repair, Welding/ Fabricating, Frame Straightening/ Alignment, Suspension Repair/ Alignment, Box Repair/ Replacement, Air Conditioning Systems, Electrical/ Brake/Cooling Systems, Surface Preparation, and Paint/ Mixing/ Tinting/ Blending.

β€’ Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled truck and trailer units β€’ Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order β€’ Maintain work area appearance and safety β€’ Road test vehicles when necessary β€’ Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner β€’ Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor Qualifications: β€’ 6 years practical experience (or an equivalent combination of related education and experience) β€’ High School Diploma or equivalent required β€’ Vocational/technical school preferred β€’ Specialized training and experience in the repair/refinish of all series of truck and trailer required β€’ Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools) required β€’ Valid driver’s license required β€’ Basic computer skills required β€’ The associate will be required to understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Penske management β€’ The associate must be able to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies; including but not limited to the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practice.

β€’ Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job β€’ As this position requires driving Penske and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role.

The driver qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last 3 years.

Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.

β€’ Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.

This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.

β€’ The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.

This position also requires the ability to push/pull truck tires on a regular basis that exceed 100 pounds.
