Position description
The College Writing Programs at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach courses in the College Writing Programs should an opening arise.
Job Duties: Successful applicants will teach in CWP's Reading and Composition sequence or other CWP courses in writing, reading, and oral communication. They will have complete responsibility for classes to include teaching in a classroom environment, meeting with students during scheduled weekly office hours and by appointment, and grading student work.
Foreign applicants must also have permission to work in the U.S. by start date.
UC lecturers are academic appointees and are represented by an exclusive bargaining agent, University Council - American Federation of Teachers (UC-AFT). This position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement of the UC-AFT.

Position description
The Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry and Vision Science at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified health science clinical faculty members at the Clinical Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Clinical Professor level to teach in the School of Optometry and Vision Science and/or Berkeley Optometry partner off-campus clinics, should an opening arise. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the department. The pool will remain in place for one calendar year; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must reapply.
The responsibilities of the health science clinical faculty members include teaching optometric student clinicians in the patient care environment, performing direct patient care when student clinicians are unavailable both on or off the UC Berkeley campus, and/or teaching optometric student clinicians the basics of eye examinations sequence in the pre-clinical environment. They may also perform service to the school and community through education or various outreach programs on or off the UC Berkeley campus.
Appointees will be eligible for advancement through the ranks of the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series, based on performance in teaching, professional activity, scholarly and creative activity, and service.
The Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry and Vision Science has excellent clinical facilities and a large, diverse patient population. Over 70,000 patient visits are seen annually within our on campus clinic. About 65 optometry students are graduated annually. The Department is committed to addressing the family needs of faculty, including dual career couples and single parents.

About the Units:
- 4 Main - Surgical oncology nursing encompasses patients who are recovering from post-surgical procedures for the treatment of life-altering cancers. These surgical procedures include cytoreductive (debulking) surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy treatment, whipple procedures, colon resections, liver resections, and other abdominal/rectal procedures. Nurses on 4main are exposed to many different types of tubes and drains that our patients experience in their post-surgical phase. These drains include (but are not limited to) wound vacs, ileostomies, colostomies, feeding tubes, jackson pratt (JP) drains, pigtail catheters, and chest tubes. - 3 West - This is an Orthopedic unit that specializes in total joint replacement, orthopedic oncology surgical services, spine surgery, sports injuries, and a wide range of medical management. New and experienced nurses will experience an exciting range of services including wound care, surgical recovery, patient education, and the opportunity to see motivated patients work to get back on their feet through physical therapy and other nursing modalities. Float Pool Scheduling Expectations:
- PRN Requirement: This position requires a minimum commitment of two days per week. Our clinics operate Monday through Friday.
- Shifts: Shifts are 8 hours in length, starting as early as 7:00 a.m. and ending as late as 6:00 p.m., and include a 1-hour lunch break.
- Travel: This position requires travel to Weston, Coral Springs, Parkland, West Palm Beach, and Palm Beach Gardens. Travel reimbursement, including tolls, is provided.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Implement patient care.
- Complete nursing documentation.
- Assess and document pain management.
- Recognize and communicate changes in patients' condition.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program
