Your New Role:

Coordinate manufacturing needs with engineering solutions. Develop guidelines for manufacturing for new materials and find improvements in machine design and material handling for increased profitability of current materials.


Duties and Responsibilities:

· Identify potential opportunities for improvement in methods of extrusion

· Document and standardize each improvement in terms of efficiency and quality

· Train personnel, from management to lead positions in improved process methods

· Help in the investigation of customer complaints that involve the process as necessary

· Furnish weekly reports documenting the type and amount of improvements that took place

· Specify process requirements relative to new equipment or machine redesign as a function of the engineering department effort

· Aid in troubleshooting production problems

· Provide the VP of Manufacturing with prioritized project lists with schedules and cost estimates included

· Coordinate the rework schedules and files for all dies, screws, barrels, and rolls

· Set production volume targets for all materials, monitor actual machine outputs and make suggestions to management for improved rates and/or efficiencies toward the goal of increased profitability

· Submit weekly reports each Friday summarizing activities, problems, and pertinent information

· Responsible for understanding the food safety hazards of their job and following the employee GMPs and other procedures to ensure food safety

  • Manage inventory of alcohol production supplies; order materials such as filters, dyes, and lab equipment.

3. Lab & Applications Support

  • Prepare solutions, color targets, and samples for R&D, Applications Lab, Creative Centers, and Sample Lab.
  • Conduct stability testing, record results, and communicate findings to R&D.
  • Support non-conformance investigations, ISO/PSM initiatives, and KPI data collection.
  • Cover Sample Lab operations when required.

4. Training, Leadership & Cross-functional Support

  • Train operators on alcohol manufacturing processes, safety practices, software systems, and equipment functionality.
  • Assist Production Supervisors by guiding staff in GMPs, safety guidelines, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide feedback on performance to help support the review process.

5. Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with Class 1 Div 1 process safety requirements and all plant safety procedures.
  • Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare documentation, labels, and shipping papers for alcohol-based materials.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in fragrance/alcohol manufacturing or equivalent compounding experience.
  • Strong understanding of flammable compounding safety requirements.
  • Familiarity with fragrance raw materials, ATF procedures, and proper material-handling techniques.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets, database systems, and applications such as CMS, LCMS, MWS, and SAP.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environment.

As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for supporting production packaging and processing operations, sanitation and participation in startup, changeover, and shutdown of operating equipment.


Shift hours:

  • 8-hour shifts
    • 2nd shift: 3 pm to 11 pm
    • 3rd shift: 11 pm to 7 am
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, including 4 hours prior to start or end of shift
  • Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Shift and Crew will be determined during first week of hire; days off likely will not fall on weekend days

Pay:

  • $22.16 per hour
