The Edgewater offers the highest quality of customer service delivered to our guests both in and out of our banquet events. The AV Engineer’s purpose is to ensure that their assigned events and/or activities are highly organized and well executed, resulting in the complete satisfaction of Edgewater guests attending the event. The Audio-Visual Engineer is responsible for overseeing and supporting all aspects and needs of audio-visual technology for The Edgewater Hotel.
Essential Job Function
- Set up and run all aspects of audio visual for events on site including but not limited to: stage and house lighting, microphones, house screens and projectors, house and powered speakers, switching of audio and video feeds (single and multi-camera), mixing audio via an audio board.
- Setting up a/v equipment in meeting rooms based on requests.
- Adjusting to clients' needs as they change.
- Keep close communication with group's contact before and during event.
- Informing the Supervisor and Banquet Captains of any a/v changes for billing purposes.
- Provide audio setup, support, and monitoring during concert events.
- Working with consultants, vendors, and acts to provide the best sound possible while maintaining acceptable sound levels to stay within compliance of City ordinances.
- Understanding functions and applications of various a/v equipment used.
- Taping down power and phone cords to Edgewater standards.
- Adjusting in room lighting in all meeting rooms.
- Replacing light bulbs in meeting room fixtures and a/v equipment.
- Installing telephone equipment in meeting rooms.
- Removing a/v equipment from meeting rooms promptly after event concludes.
- Ensuring a/v equipment is returned in proper working condition and placed in proper storage areas.

POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:
This position is responsible and accountable for directing and overseeing a team of technicians responsible for the installation of hardware components of audio-visual systems ensuring all financial, programmatic and operating systems meet established targets. This position reports to a Project Manager and is a member of the Operations team supporting the mission and goals of a "Best in Class" sales and AV integration program. As an experienced member of a dynamic installation operation, the Lead AV Technician will work independently to coordinate, receive, inventory, assemble and install AV equipment on job site locations to comply with the company’s policies and procedures, including quality, safety, environmental, and business practices.
Residency within 60 miles of Buffalo, NY is required. As a national company, opportunities to work at job sites across the country are also available.
Essential job functions, duties and responsibilities:
This position is responsible for independently coordinating and overseeing teams responsible for the process of receiving, inventorying, assembling and installing AV equipment on job site locations. This position requires a variety of duties including construction labor as well as installation, troubleshooting and repair but not limited to:
- Directing the actions of others and be able to complete installations independently
- Coordinating, scheduling, and directing one or more installation teams and to ensure appropriate travel arrangements and accommodations when required
- Being responsible for the training and oversight of level one and level two technicians working at job sites and assisting them in attaining higher level certifications
- Moving and/or repositioning large equipment or wiring supplies. Individuals must be able to lift and carry heavy objects of 75 lbs. unassisted and to steady objects above shoulder height while fastened into place by co-workers
- Trouble-shooting audio and video equipment installations
- Installing and terminating cables with the appropriate solder or compression connector
- Drilling in drywall, concrete, and cinderblock for the purpose of installing projectors, projection screens, cameras, and speaker systems

- Prior AV team leadership and management experience (2-4 years)
- CTS certification is required

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create, set-up, manage, and populate design and construction models as necessary to build working views, sheet views, and 3D views for export using Revit or other software.
- Run internal clash detection tests to assist project team with coordination process.
- Generate design and construction documentation for structured cabling projects during design, shop drawings, and as-builts phases of a project.

ROLE*: The position available is Technical Director (TD). Under the direction of the Director of Production and Creative Services (DPCS), the TD leads a team of experienced event technicians. The TD and his team are involved in each event from beginning to end. It starts with a member of our technical team meeting with our clients to understand their goals and vision for their event. They then design a solution, prepare all necessary elements and are ultimately responsible for its flawless execution.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technical Expertise
- The TD is responsible for ensuring that the technical aspects of all our events are done properly and safely. Those include but are not limited to video, audio, lighting, streaming, rigging and power distribution.
- The TD it is expected that he or she would know how to engage experts in areas of need. That can be from existing team members or outside resources.

- The TD will have a team of dedicated event technicians that report directly to him/her.

The Project Manager – AV oversees multiple concurrent projects, collaborates across teams, and builds strong relationships with clients, vendors, LSPs, partners, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and solid expertise in AV-related low-voltage systems.
This position reports to the Manager of Audio/Visual.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with Business Development, clients, prospects, trade partners, and design team members to assess opportunities, design solutions, and develop project scopes
- Determine required materials, labor, equipment, and other costs to create accurate project estimates
- Utilize MTG-created templates to create comprehensive proposals, SOWs, warranty statements, and other project-related documents
- Obtain competitive material pricing and manage timely material delivery, return, and credit processing
- Coordinate equipment rentals, including pricing, delivery, and return
- Oversee and direct execution of low-voltage/technology work, specifically for AV-related projects
- Manage project costs to meet or exceed profit margin targets
- Develop, communicate, and maintain project schedules to ensure all milestones and client expectations are met
- Lead project kick-offs to establish expectations, promote proactive communication, and ensure successful execution
- Lead project close-outs to ensure customer satisfaction, accurate documentation, and completion of all deliverables
- Collaborate with other Project Managers on multi-phase or large-scale projects as needed
- Maintain accurate opportunity and project data in MTG’s ERP and project management systems to support forecasting, reporting, and operational planning
- Work closely with the Finance Department to help meet project AR and AP responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service, representing MTG professionally and building long-term client relationships
- Maintain knowledge of industry technology/products, standards, requirements, and processes

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the low-voltage, AV, or related technology industry
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or industry-specific training preferred

Master Technology Group (MTG) specializes in designing, installing, and servicing commercial property technologies across local and national markets.
The A/V Technical Systems Designer will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for various A/V-related projects and systems to provide our customers and staff with diverse A/V and IT-related technical support.
This position requires a thorough knowledge of audio-visual technologies and familiarity with IP networking. Additional skills required include proficiency in drawing and design software, technical writing, programming, training, and customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of A/V-related experience and 3+ years of A/V design experience
- Strong knowledge of network topology and the ability to perform, communicate, or coordinate basic network configurations
- Strong knowledge of audio-visual system integration in Windows OS and Microsoft O365 environments
- Installation and design experience with:
- Meeting room A/V systems (Q-SYS, Crestron, Logitech, Yealink)
- Overhead paging (Atlas IED, Biamp)

- Meetings take place around 4pm and can last until ~10pm for the regular meetings. For the add-on meetings, they may end earlier, such as around 7pm.
- 1-2 hour early arrival is needed before each meeting for setup and troubleshooting.

- Lead installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial audio/video systems, including conference rooms, access control, and security camera systems.

Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED.
- Must have valid driver's license.
- Must join Laborers Union.
- Must provide own hand tools.
- Able to work at heights, including from catwalks, aerial lifts, crane baskets, scaffolding, and structure climb.
- Ability to demonstrate experience in electronic and Audio/Visual equipment.
- Willing to work various shifts and days with the ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
