- 07:30) | Primarily Nights Regular Job Summary A regional leader in maternity care, is seeking a versatile Labor & Delivery RN .

You will join a high-risk obstetric team managing a 10-bed L&D unit with 2 dedicated ORs, averaging 80-100 deliveries per month.

While L&D is your primary home, this role requires flexibility to float to the 20-bed Maternity/Obstetrics unit.

This is a critical-fill position due to staff resignation, requiring an ASAP start for a clinician comfortable with a night-heavy rotation.

Key Responsibilities Labor Support: Provide 1:1 or 1:2 care for laboring patients, including high-risk monitoring and immediate postpartum stabilization.

Fetal Monitoring: Maintain high competency in the interpretation of continuous electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) strips, identifying reassuring vs.

non-reassuring patterns.

Surgical Circulation: Assist in the L&D Operating Rooms for both scheduled and emergency Cesarean sections.

Maternity Floating: Provide care for delivered patients, post-op GYN cases, and stable antepartum patients on the 20-bed OB unit as census requires.

Safety Sitter Coverage: In low-census scenarios, you may be required to float to Med-Surg units to act as a safety sitter.

Emergency Intervention: Utilize NRP and ACLS protocols for neonatal and maternal resuscitation if needed.

Requirements & Qualifications Experience: Minimum 2 years of dedicated Labor & Delivery/Maternity experience.

Certifications:
* CPR/BLS (AHA)
- Required.

NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Required.

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Required.

Technical Skills: Advanced competency in fetal monitor strip interpretation.

Licensure: Active New York (NY) RN License .

Flexibility: Must be comfortable with a rotational schedule; though primarily nights, you must be open to day shifts if discussed in advance.

Unit & Facility Details L&D Unit: 10 Beds, 2 ORs (High-risk).

OB/Maternity Unit: 20 Beds (Delivered, Post-op GYN, Stable Antepartum).

Volume: 80-100 deliveries per month.

Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 in L&D.

On-Call: Yes, participation in the unit call rotation is required.

Note: You will not be required to act as Charge Nurse or Preceptor during this assignment.

Clinical Spotlight: High-Risk OB at Arnot As an L&D nurse at AOMC, you are the front line for the Southern Tier's high-risk pregnancies.

Your expertise in Fetal Heart Rate (FHR) interpretation is vital, as the unit manages a significant number of high-risk cases that may require rapid transition to the OR.

Your ability to provide "Arnot-level" compassionate care while maintaining strict clinical vigilance during a 12-hour night shift is the hallmark of this role.
