A freight forwarding company is seeking an Entry-Level Export Agent to join their operations team in Mineola, NY. This position is responsible for the activities and processes of international Air and Ocean freight's export coordination and for providing other general operations support as needed. Training is provided.
*This is a full-time, non-exempt, contracted, onsite position. ***This is a contract-to-hire role, with Activ8 serving as your temporary employer***
Entry-level Export Agent (Freight Forwarding) Duties:
- Track and trace international shipments, monitoring and managing daily freight movement
- Collect, sort and distribute operational information internally and process documentation for shipment release
- Respond to customers and transportation service providers, providing them with information of shipment statuses (ETA, errors, etc.) and financials
- Update internal databases with freight information and current status
- Collaborate with and support other departments'/branches' freight operations as needed
- Address issues and claims when shipment errors/in-transit issues occur (e.g. troubleshooting discrepancies, processing damage claims, etc.)
- Create invoices and send originals to billing parties
- Additional duties as assigned
Entry-level Export Agent (Freight Forwarding) Ideal Minimum Requirements:
- Education in Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar

Job Summary
Based on Department established priorities, provides support services in the areas of prisoner transport, prisoner care and custody, alternative sentencing methods, the taking of crime reports, calls for assistance of a non-criminal nature, records data entry and other activities within the Department.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Receives into custody persons arrested by officers, completes arrest reports, fingerprints and photographs the subject, and maintains custody in the Kirkland Police Department jail. Facilitates alternative sentencing programs.
- Transports arrested subjects to and from court or to other detention facilities.
- Coordination of court appearances and schedules.
Essential Duties:
- Booking of prisoners, includes input data, fingerprinting, photographing, searching, inventory and storing of personal effects.
- Interviews all in-custody subjects and screens for medical, psychological, and behavioral issues resulting in incarceration in another facility.
- Attends to personal bedding, hygiene needs, and medical needs of inmates as necessary.
- Arranges court appearances and schedules.
- Provides transports (e.g. court, detention center, dentist visits, doctor appointments, and emergency room).
- Orders and prepares meals for prisoners and other items needed by prisoners.
- Work Release. This includes subject interview, evaluation, receipt processing (if applicable), monitoring of payments, booking procedure, work schedule set-up, equipment application, and compliance monitoring.
- Responsible for Electronic Home Detention (EHD). This includes subject interview, evaluation, receipt processing (if applicable), monitoring of payments, booking procedure, work schedule set-up, equipment application, and compliance monitoring.
- Day Detention. This includes initial processing and monitoring of compliance throughout the days of court-ordered detention.
- Serves warrants to individuals already arrested and jailed by other jurisdictions and provide transport to Kirkland.
- Takes information regarding citizen complaints and completes appropriate incident and follow-up reports. Process and complete police reports, as required, in person or telephonically.
- Maintains all booking photos.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Keeps the booking and cell area clean and supplied with necessary forms, inmate supplies, and equipment within the jail area.
- Conducts regular maintenance inspections of Corrections vehicles and ensures that necessary equipment is in each vehicle. Completes a written record of all inspections.
- Provides traffic control, upon request, to assist the Patrol and Traffic Divisions when authorized by the Lieutenant, in support of special events.
- Provides backup support to ASA in entering, quashing, recalling, cancelling and second party verification of warrants.

- Must not possess physical or visual impairments which would prevent the employee from maintaining physical custody of others, which may include application of physical restraint techniques. Must possess sufficient health and physical capacity to participate in defensive tactics training and other required physical activity.
- Must be able to obtain a police security clearance including polygraph, psychological, and background prior to hire. Must be able to successfully complete the State Certified Corrections Academy and the department Field Training Program.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in jail, court, community, and police department settings as well as driving motor vehicles. The employee is not armed unless working outside of the facility (conducting transports or Kirkland Municipal Court duties) and holds a limited commission to serve warrants. A Corrections Officer is required to wear a uniform in the performance of all duties.

You will actively and enthusiastically disseminate campus rules and regulations to all residents, as well as completing regular inventories, cleaning, and audits on campus. You must exercise and enforce the Mantra of Friendly, Clean, Fast, and Safe Service.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a liaison between associates and management team.
· Actively assist employees, answer questions and resolve concerns.
· Provide administrative support for all departments.
· Follow proper procedures when clocking associates in or out and verify any discrepancies in departmental time sheets.
· Be familiar with and enforce all associate policies and grooming guidelines.
· Record, document and communicate associate lateness, call outs and no call no shows.
· Assist the international supervisor with tasks as assigned, including but not limited to: check in/outs, cleaning of units, collecting mail, reporting of housing work orders, execution of housing events.
· Understand all Federal, State and Company Labor Laws ensuring that we are in full compliance.
· Preserve the confidentiality of all park personnel's information.
· Respond to any emergency situations and handle issues that arise.
· Maintain an organized and tidy work environment.
· Reviewing resumes and applications for all seasonal positions.
· Conducting in-person, and video interviews for all seasonal positions.
· Ensuring all forms, both electronic and physical, are filled out appropriately and correctly.
· Schedule associate for training.
· Maintain and continually update organized filing and reporting systems.
· Assist in execution of employee events.
Qualifications:
Must possess above average communication skills.
· Must possess advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, OneNote, Publisher, Outlook.
· Must be comfortable enforcing policy and having counseling sessions with employees.
· Must be able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment in order to meet deadlines and make effective decisions.
· Must be a self-starter with the ability to take initiative.
· Must be highly organized.
· Must be outgoing, upbeat and friendly.
· Must have strong leadership and developmental skills.
· Knowledge of the park or previous theme park experience is a plus.
Additional Job Requirements:
· At least 18 years of age.
· Available to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
· Must be able to pass a background check and Loss Prevention interview.
· Must be able to stand/walk for up to 6 hours at a times and as many as 14 hours a day.
· Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs consistently and over various surfaces in all types of weather conditions.

General Purpose/Summary of Job:
The Display and Exhibits Coordinator will coordinate the full logistics of all congresses and exhibits programs which include but not limited to, reviewing requests for accuracy, securing approvals, managing registration, executing customer-specific agreements, payment processing, marketing materials management, and program reconciliation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Database management - manage promotional educational programs within our proprietary events management platform
- Budget management - assisting customer representatives within their program planning budget to ensure they meet client business rules and guidelines
- Coordinate all life cycles of Congresses and Exhibits from start to finish
- Communicate daily with customer team and appropriate stakeholders
- Run daily metric reports to ensure all tasks within the C&E are executed within a timely fashion
- Coordinate with account stakeholders (via telephone and email) regarding their event status as well as required follow-ups for any missing information. Able to read, interpret, and execute legal contracts on behalf of stakeholders.
- Ensure payments are processed in an efficient and timely manner
- Adhere to performance metrics, standard operation processes and procedures, as well as compliance guidelines for the related customer
- Maintain current knowledge of appropriate regulations, e.g., OIG, PhRMA Code
- Adherence to various policies (i.e., confidentiality, sensitive communication, intellectual property)
- Effectively manage high volume of meetings while also responding to emails and phone calls
Competency Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written skills both internally and externally with the ability to effectively engage with the customer
- Skilled in Customer Service, and the ability to solve problems while ensuring customer satisfaction is met
- Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Familiar with health sciences and regulated environments
- Ability to work independently, with competent decision-making skills, and successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong working knowledge of Gmail and Microsoft Office Product Suite, and able to quickly learn to utilize similar tools and software as needed

Education/Skills Experience Desired:
- A background in event planning is preferred, but not required
- B.S. or B.A. degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years’ experience working at a pharmaceutical/biotech or third-party agency a plus
- Great for individuals with a Sales, Hospitality, or Customer Service background
- Must be a go getter and very personable at the same having patience with the process
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
