EHS Manager



Reporting to the Head of EHS and Sustainability, the EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing environmental, health, and safety programs within operations. This role ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, and ISO certifications (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001). Responsibilities:



Site EHS Leadership





  • Ensure operational alignment with HellermannTytons's OIMS framework, compliance with NA EHS Policies, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 standards, as well as regulations.

  • Support site-specific EHS annual objectives, targets, and KPIs to drive facility performance improvements in EHS, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.

  • Guide plant management on EHS initiatives, ensuring alignment with HellermannTyton's long-term goals of Zero Harm, continuous improvement, and environmental stewardship.

  • Ensure completion of risk management processes, including risk assessments, hazard analysis (HAZOP), job safety analyses (JSA), and control of work (CoW) processes.



Incident Management and Root Cause Analysis





  • Lead investigations of all incidents, near misses, and environmental releases, ensuring that a thorough root cause analysis is conducted and that corrective and preventive actions are implemented.

  • Oversee and manage the reporting of incidents in accordance with HellermannTyton's incident management protocols, ensuring all regulatory and corporate notifications are timely and complete.

  • Develop lessons learned materials and facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions to prevent recurrence of incidents, embedding a culture of safety and accountability at all levels.



EHS Continuous Improvement & Auditing





  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by conducting regular safety audits, management reviews, and inspections, ensuring that the site remains in full compliance with HellermannTyton's



OIMS, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.





  • Lead EHS self-assessments and external audits, ensuring that gaps are identified, action plans are developed, and improvements are implemented.

  • Utilize leading and lagging indicators to assess EHS performance, report trends to senior management, and support data-driven recommendations for improvement.



Emergency Preparedness & Response





  • Manage emergency response plans, including the establishment of emergency response teams, drills, and simulations, ensuring readiness for events such as fires, chemical spills, and natural disasters.

  • Coordinate with local emergency services and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth collaboration in the event of an actual emergency.

  • Regularly review emergency action plans to reflect current facility conditions, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications:





  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in safety or environmental management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.

  • Knowledge and experience of ISO 45001 & 14001.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to travel regionally (5%).

  • Flexible with job assignments and responsibilities.

Position Summary

The Director of Regulatory Compliance (DORC) serves as IDE Americas’ senior environmental, occupational health, and safety executive, accountable for establishing and overseeing comprehensive EHS programs across all phases of company operations including project bidding, design, construction, commissioning, and long-term O&M. The DORC provides executive-level leadership and direction for environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, workplace safety, emergency preparedness, and environmental stewardship across all IDE Americas facilities and pilot projects in the continental U.S.

 

This position serves as the primary Legally Responsible Person (LRP) for environmental and occupational health and safety matters, representing IDE before federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, and ensuring company-wide compliance with all applicable environmental laws, permits, safety standards, and operational agreements. The DORC also acts as a key stakeholder and representative in industry forums, government-led regulatory development processes, and enforcement actions (e.g., NOVs, consent orders, hearings, abatement negotiations).


Core Responsibilities


Environmental Compliance and Regulatory Engagement

  • Serve as the designated Legally Responsible Person (LRP) representing IDE Americas before federal, state, and local agencies on matters related to environmental permitting, enforcement, and regulatory oversight.
  • Lead all environmental regulatory strategies, including permitting, negotiation of permit conditions, regulatory response, and policy interpretation across all IDE Americas facilities and projects.
  • Oversee multi-jurisdictional environmental compliance programs in coordination with agencies such as the State and Regional Water Quality Control Boards (SWRCB/RWQCB), California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Coast Guard, California Coastal Commission, CUPAs, APCDs, and other federal, state, and local entities.
  • Direct preparation and timely submission of required regulatory reports and data, including NPDES Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs), CIWQS uploads, CDP filings, CERS entries, eGGRT, EPCRA Tier II, TRI, and SWMP Annual Reports.


Executive EHS Program Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership for the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of IDE’s integrated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program, encompassing permitting, reporting, risk mitigation, and compliance assurance.
  • Establish company-wide EHS policies and performance metrics in alignment with corporate values, client expectations, and evolving regulatory requirements.

Operational Risk Management and Site Leadership

  • Serve as IDE’s Project Environmental Coordinator (PEC) for shoreline and offshore infrastructure work, including coordination of marine operations such as intake pump servicing, crane-supported offshore deployment/recovery, diver-assisted inspections, and emergency response activities.
  • Direct on-site regulatory walkthroughs, contractor coordination, and compliance readiness activities during construction, commissioning, and operational phases of each project.


Occupational Health and Safety Oversight

  • Oversee all aspects of IDE Americas’ occupational health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with State and Federal OSHA, and facility-specific health and safety standards
  • Supervise the Occupational Health & Safety Officer and guide the implementation of key safety programs including confined space entry, LOTO, respiratory protection, hazard communication, industrial hygiene, and injury/illness prevention.

Responsibilities

This position will comply with bank and investor guidelines with portfolio and investor mortgage loans, conducting required functions for special asset protection management.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Execute and submit secondary market investors, government agencies, and mortgage insurance delinquency and status reports to safeguard the company's interest
    • Adhere to guidelines set by investors, guarantors, and regulatory entitles for accurate and timely reporting
    • Manage audits conducted by third party companies such as TenA for quality control of FHA-HUD and USDA portfolios

  • Prepare and mail notifications to borrowers per investor, guarantor, state, insurer, or bank guidelines
  • Comply with applicable regulations including but not limited to Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Service Member Civil Relief Act, Dodd-Fran Act (UDAPP) as they relate to consumer real estate loan collections
