OB Hospitalist-Full-Time Contract - San Diego, CA
Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns is Southern California’s only standalone women’s hospital. SMB is part of Sharp HealthCare, is a 206 bed, not for profit hospital delivering more babies than any other hospital in California.
Shift rate: $2,500/shift (12 hrs)
PAID Malpractice and Tail coverage
Hospital shifts: 7:00pm to 7:00am
2-night shifts per week considered full-time
Clinic shifts: 8:00am-5:00pm (optional)
Full specialty back up including 24 hr perinatal and GYN/ONC service w/dedicated OB anesthesia
Responsible for L&D, triage, postpartum, ED Calls and occasional GYN emergency surgery (ectopic)
Most calls taken with experienced CNM’s. Back-up physicians always available
On-site overnight provider room
Hospital delivers ~9,000 babies per year, highest volume in the state of California!
Group delivers ~4,000 babies per year
Southern California’s largest Level III NICU, plus advanced care for high-risk pregnancy
Requirements:
Comfortable covering a busy L&D with at least 3 years’ experience, 5 preferred
Must be able to receive privileges for basic laparoscopy including management of ectopic pregnancies (must have completed 10 cases within the last 2 years to qualify)

Wages and Benefits include:
Annual Base Salary:
$421,000* (board eligible) ;
$431,000* (board certified)
based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours. The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated between

$610,000** (board certified)
which includes the baseline salary, fringe benefits, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:
