The Opportunity

As a dedicated auto adjuster, within defined guidelines and framework, you are responsible to adjust moderately complex auto insurance claims presented by or against our members to include the end-to-end claims process and settling claims in compliance with state laws and regulations. What you'll do:

  • Investigates liability and applies appropriate coverage, evaluates, negotiates, and settles moderately complex auto claims.

  • Negotiates liability for comparative negligence (claimant or adverse carrier).

  • Identifies coverage concerns, reviews prior loss history, determines, and creates Special Investigation Unit (SIU) referrals, when appropriate.

  • Interacts with multiple parties to gather information needed to determine liability (police reports, recorded statements, witness statements).

  • Resolves claims through proactive problem solving and decision making, within authority guidelines and under moderate supervision, overcoming obstacles, and effectively prioritizing the workload.

  • Clearly documents thought process including damage evaluation, investigation, negotiation, and settlement decisions

  • Supports workload surges and catastrophe (CAT) response operations as needed, including mandatory on-call dates and potential evening, weekend, and/or holiday work outside normal work hours.

  • May be assigned CAT deployment travel with minimal notice during designated CATs.

  • Works various types of claims, including ones of higher complexity, and may be assigned additional work outside normal duties as needed.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

  • Subspecialty Case Mix: Emergency Radiology, Fluoroscopy, Nuclear Medicine, Musculoskeletal, Neuroradiology, Pediatrics, Mammography (Diagnostic), and Procedures
  • Light Interventional Radiology (IR) Procedures:
    • Biopsies: Thyroid, Lung, Liver, Bone, Renal (CT and US guided)
    • Drainages: Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, Abscess Drainage, Chest Tube Placement, Cyst Drainage
    • Lumbar Punctures: Diagnostic LP, Myelogram, Epidural
    • Arthrograms: Joint injections for Knee, Elbow, Hip, Ankle, and Shoulder
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology Required
  • Active Pennsylvania Medical License Required
  • DEA Registration Required
  • Proficiency across general diagnostic modalities (XR, CT, MR, US, NM)
  • Competency in performing light IR procedures and image-guided biopsies

As a dedicated Injury Adjuster, you will work within defined guidelines and framework, responsible to adjust non-attorney involved soft tissue bodily injury to include confirming coverage, determining liability, investigating, evaluating, negotiating, defending, and settling claims in compliance with state laws and regulations. What you'll do:

  • Identifies and handles existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
  • Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.
  • Adjusts non-attorney involved soft tissue bodily injury claims, as well as all auto physical damage associated with those claims.

  • Clearly documents thought process, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement decisions.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of the auto claims contract as well as application of case and state laws and regulations.
  • Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days and designated number of attempts.
