Sr. Materials Coordinator
Position Description:
This Senior Materials Coordinator will support the construction organization by managing the receipt, handling, and coordination of all materials flowing into the Warehouse. This includes capital and expense project materials such as piping, valves, vessels, and other critical equipment required to safely and efficiently operate the plant. The role operates very independently, serving as the primary onsite coordinator for vendors, internal warehouses, and contractors receiving material.
Schedule:
Shift: 4x10s (Monday-Thursday)
Typical hours: ~5:30 AM - 4:00 PM (flexible between 5:30-6:30 AM start)
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Receive and coordinate delivery of construction materials (piping, valves, vessels, equipment, etc.).
- Communicate with vendors and the larger client warehouse 2 miles away regarding incoming material.
- Manage safe offloading and staging of materials.
- Maintain documentation and good sreceiving records.
- Use SAP and Excel-based tools for receiving, logging, and tracking materials.
- Schedule and interact with contractors arriving to pick up materials.
- Prioritize daily tasks independently with minimal supervision.
- Operate a forklift (Client will provide certification after hire).
- Serve as the primary liaison to construction managers and other project stakeholders.

Must Have Skills & Qualifications
- Strong materials coordination or warehouse experience (industrial experience preferred).
- Experience managing high volume material flow, especially during turnarounds.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel required).
- Comfortable with documentation and goods receipt processes.
- Experience with SAP strongly preferred.
- Professional communication skills; ability to interface with leaders, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a leadership capacity when interacting with contractors.
- Ability to follow direction from project/engineering leadership when required.
- Forklift operation ability (or willingness to become certified).

Overview
The Expeditor is responsible for ensuring suppliers meet purchase order commitments related to cost, delivery, quality, and documentation. This role works closely with project teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and maintain accurate procurement and order-status tracking throughout the project lifecycle.

- Awareness of GCPPT system limitations and the ability to provide supplemental equipment information to key stakeholders when required
Core Responsibilities
Supplier & Order Management
- Ensure suppliers comply with purchase order terms and conditions; take action when deviations occur
- Review PO files regularly and systematically:
- All files reviewed at least bi-weekly
- More frequent reviews for critical equipment or short delivery timelines
- Proactively identify and communicate potential price changes, delivery risks, delays, and technical/engineering questions to the Project Procurement Leader (PPL) and Project Team
- Process all purchase order addenda promptly to maintain GCPPT accuracy
Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain strong working relationships with:
- Supplier Document Control
- Construction Management
- Receiving
- Accounting
- Partner closely with Accounting and Receiving to resolve invoicing issues, equipment status questions, progress payments, and related concerns
- Participate in early supplier planning meetings for critical equipment to align on expediting expectations
Supplier Performance & Quality
- Support the Global Supplier Management Process through QSPP (Quality Service Product Performance) evaluations
- Provide timely and accurate supplier performance feedback to:
- Market Supply Managers (MSMs)
- Product Supply Managers (PSMs)
- Initiate and support QSPP processes for supplier claims, including providing historical purchase order data when required
Proactive Issue Management
- Anticipate supplier and project needs and escalate issues as needed to MSMs and/or PSMs
- Gather supplier shop-floor status updates, including information from contracted inspection companies
- When applicable, organize and lead inspection kick-off meetings with suppliers and inspection partners
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform assigned buying responsibilities as required
Requires Skills/Experience:
- 5 years of Expediting experience
- Industry experience (chemical manufacturing or adjacent)

Job Description: Leads the construction management work process discipline, demonstrates lead competencies of directing others, staffing, planning and controlling projects. Ensures construction of facilities meet EHandS, quality, cost and schedule per the businesses requirements.
Typically, at this level would lead several intermediate site executed projects up to a single large project. Requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities.
Responsibilities
Champions the use of construction safety best practices and drive to a zero-incident safety culture on contracts.
Leads the Construction Management staff on a particular project, including visible, proactive leadership in all matters related to safety, quality, schedule and cost.
Develops a Construction Management plan to identify construction resource needs for a specific project. Ensures that the budget reflects the plan and works with the project manager, if discrepancies arise. Works with construction resource leader to fill the positions.
Provides the construction expertise in the Front End Loading (FEL) of a project. Minimizes construction costs through proper planning, technology, application and constructability techniques.
Provides input to the Contract Labor Strategy. Manages the construction companies, the labor contracts, resolves claims, monitors and controls labor cost.
Understands and utilizes the Global Capital Work Process (GPM) Construction Work Process discipline. Utilizes the Construction expertise networks.
Assists in the development of effective construction integrated schedules. Ensures that construction schedules are met or that discrepancies are communicated in a timely fashion.
Minimizes start-up and operability issues through the use of quality plans.
