Position Overview
Oliveda is seeking a highly skilled Radio Frequency (RF) Physicist with a strong background in electromagnetic theory, RF system design, and signal analysis. This role focuses on developing and analyzing advanced RF technologies and hardware. The ideal candidate will combine deep theoretical knowledge with practical engineering experience to design, model, and evaluate complex electromagnetic systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply advanced electromagnetic theory to design and optimize RF systems and components.

The Position:
The Part-time Digital Content Designer contract role is needed for approximately 12-24 hours per week mostly in our LA office at the rate of $30/hour. The position is responsible for assisting in the design of a wide variety of visual marketing assets across digital content and print media for athletic accessories. In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $61,720.78 and $108,334.92. The Power Systems Engineering Section focuses on developing techniques and concepts to protect the upstream electric plant against highly dynamic load profiles.
As a Power Systems/Electronics Engineer
Your primary responsibility will be to explore and develop new technologies for power systems and subsystems - working across industry, academia, and government organizations.
- You will develop state-of-the-art breadboards and advanced prototypes to support conceptual designs and trade studies.
- You will perform requirements trade-off studies, validate requirement feasibility, and perform analysis to recommend technical approaches that meet sponsor needs.
- You will create, analyze and review power system designs and concepts.
- You will evolve power systems modeling and simulation tools.
- You will provide power system expertise during system integration and performance testing not only at land-based test sites but including on the tactical systems aboard Navy ships.
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
- Have a MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent with 3+ years experience (or a Bachelors Degree with 5+ years) with a focus on power conversion and power systems.
- Have experience in analog and digital control theory and stability analysis.
- Have experience using Typhoon, Speedgoat, or other hardware digital control implementations to perform real-time digital control prototyping.
- Have experience in power conversion design and test of AC/DC and DC/DC converters.
- Are proficient at using in Matlab/Simulink/Simscape to analyze and simulate power converters and power systems.
- Have experience in SABER or SPICE or other circuit analysis tools.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Are willing and able to travel occasionally to attend meetings or test events at government or contractor sites.
- Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance prior to starting and ultimately a Secret clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. BHE GT&S has an exciting opportunity as an Instrument & Control Technician/Sr. Instrument & Control Technician supporting our North Summit Station in Hopwood, PA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This role installs maintains and troubleshoots instrumentation control circuits and equipment related to natural gas processes such as the compression, dehydration, measurement, transmission and storage of natural gas.
- Installation includes mounting wiring connecting testing configuring and programming instruments and devices.
- Maintenance includes routine calibration and functional testing of process instruments and devices documentation of calibration data collected during inspections utilizing the instrument inspection monitoring system verification of data communication systems that provide real time process and alarm information to the facility control center.
- Troubleshooting includes the utilization of equipment such as a laptop computer multi-meter instrument/device communicator device software documenting process calibrator etc.
- Develops and maintains interactive work relationships to accurately and effectively complete job responsibilities.
- Directs advises instructs inspects supports and/or assists contractors and employees in the design construction operation and maintenance of assets.
- Ensures regulatory and compliance standards are met.
QUALIFICATIONS
Two-year degree with a minimum of one year direct hands-on experience in instrumentation, PLCs and Computer Systems OR a minimum of four years direct hands-on experience in instrumentation, PLCs, and Computer Systems without a two-year degree.
Instrument & Control Technician :
- Two-year or higher degree in electronics engineering or related field AND a minimum of one year direct, hands-on experience with instrumentation, PLCs, and Computer Systems OR
- A minimum of four years direct hands-on experience with Instrumentation, PLC's, RTUs and computer systems.
Required : Must acquire ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) Level 1 certification within one year of ISA eligibility, not to exceed 15 months.
Sr. Instrument & Control Technician :
- Two-year or higher degree in electronics engineering or related field AND a minimum of three years direct, hands-on experience with instrumentation, PLCs, and Computer Systems OR
- A minimum of seven years direct hands-on experience with Instrumentation, PLC's, RTUs and computer systems.
- Ability to lead project teams, assume project supervisor role and develop action plans.
- Knowledge of Natural Gas and Electric Driven Gas Compressors.
- Knowledge of Gas and Fire Detection Systems
- Knowledge of Emergency Shut Down (ESD) Systems.
Both levels :
- Ability to interpret control system software for the purpose of diagnostic troubleshooting.
- Ability to pass electrical, electronic, and digital equipment troubleshooting tests.
