Position Overview:

As a Mechanical Designer, you will play a critical role in developing next-generation DC Fast Charging systems for electric vehicles. This position focuses on designing robust, efficient, and manufacturable mechanical solutions for high-power electronics and energy storage systems. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in electronics packaging, thermal management, and structural design with a strong focus on design documentation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Innovative Design:
  • Design components for battery-integrated DC fast chargers and lab test equipment
  • Fabricate and assemble prototype parts for design validation
  • Documentation:
  • Prepare detailed drawings of mechanical parts and electrical wiring harnesses
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) for new and existing products
  • Initiate and manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for controlled documents, specifications, and work instructions
  • Manufacturing Support:
  • Resolve manufacturing/quality issues for parts and assemblies in production
  • Design production test equipment and assembly aides
  • Support production line setup


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years’ experience in electronics packaging design
  • Extensive design experience using PTC Creo Parametric CAD software package
  • Understanding of the applications of ASME Y14.5
  • Demonstrated success in designing for sheet metal, extrusion & injection molding processes
  • Experience with mechanical fabrication in a lab environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years’ experience in electronics packaging
  • Proficient with Creo Sheet Metal & Cabling Extension
  • Experience with Creo Harness Manufacturing Extension "HMX"
  • Proficient in the use of Arena and Windchill PLM
  • Successfully implemented mechanical solutions for power electronic devices
  • Experience in Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment product design
